Remove the optic guard and inner hood. You’ll keep all of the benefits, and cut the lag time on the draw exponentially. Every second count, and those two parts are not necessary in the retention of the firearm.

When I started out armed I got the Blackhawck Serpa Level 3 holster. This was when it was one of the hottest holsters and no one had shot themselves yet. 🙄 I probably have performed over a couple thousand practice draws with it. You are right holsters are not cheap. The temptation to go cheap is very real but some things shouldn’t be skimped out on.

I understand when people say they don’t have the money when someone is getting into armed security you need to think no about all the cost, the licencing itself is fucking expensive. Now put into getting ammo which can run about $40 bucks right now at least where I’ve seen it. I’m sure I’m just looking the wrong place, then you gotta think a duty weapon those can run almost $550 without the California state taxes. But in reality you can find good duty holsters from stafariland, Blackhawk, alien gear ect for relatively cheap used.
