I don’t know why people say birdshot is no good for home defense…..anyone want to volunteer to be shot in the face with 7 1/2 birdshot?

  2. Rat107 on October 29, 2021 at 5:47 pm

The TruBall Rifle Slug uses a simple plastic ball between the wad and slug to force extremely accurate results.

  3. mitchell baker on October 29, 2021 at 5:51 pm

I would try adding magnesium and Flint filings from a fire starter into the cavity with a 22LR primer cap blank facing backwards that should have some interesting results I’d prefer to see that at night by the way

Does that supernova have a rifled barrel? I thought one of the models came with a rifled barrel.

Love my 12gauge shotty a slugs

  12. robert bellardine on October 29, 2021 at 5:57 pm

I wish you would’ve shot another slug through your first shot. Pretty sure 4 slugs in the same spot would penetrate

  13. Chris Hibb on October 29, 2021 at 6:01 pm

The edge or bend of almost any surface will be where it hold the most strength. That’s why the Remington had a larger damage radius than the other ones because it was placed almost dead center.

  16. BK on October 29, 2021 at 6:03 pm

When the ammo situation comes back to normal, please lookout for Winchester’s’ Platinum tip slugs. Something like a Ranger T and Ranger Bonded combined into one and then ‘super sized’!

  17. Lawrence Sintom on October 29, 2021 at 6:04 pm

    Great

  18. Eric Hill Sr on October 29, 2021 at 6:05 pm

Get yourself some brass or steel slugs some 3-in magnums preferably it’ll go right through it

  19. Eli Ferguson on October 29, 2021 at 6:06 pm

To be honest, doesn’t matter. Either one will blow something up!!

  20. Boomer Ranger Ron on October 29, 2021 at 6:06 pm

Nice video and shotgun slug comparison. Does this Bennelli Super Nova have a rifled barrel? Or just a cylinder choke? In my experience with shotgun slugs, I’ve found that a rifled choke tube seems to work best with FOSTER type slugs. https://youtu.be/OzphQmysIIE

Best is a subjective term. Best at what? Do you mean the fastest, the lightest recoiling, the best wound channel, or the best penetration through bone? I like penetration through bone or wood myself, but hardly anyone else measures that. LoL I learned if you really want good penetration you need to go hard cast and heavier than 1.5 ounces. Of course if you also want that to not be a subsonic load, you also have to leave SAAMI behind. And let us face it, most of the OEM shotguns will just go all to pieces in your face if you try to break 1800fps with a 2 ounce slug. But if you own a shotgun built for that, and are man enough to tolerate the recoil forces (suggest adding a muzzle break and hoping others ignore the increased noise) then 2 ounces at 1600+ really is the best. 🙂

  22. LetsGoBrandon! on October 29, 2021 at 6:10 pm

We’ve shot countless Xtreme 12ga slugs reliably at 1550fps out to 400yds on 20" gongs but they stopped making them. Prettiest shoulder bruiser you can shoot.. pure copper beauty. Tested for penetration on old abandoned cars with superb results. Thanks for testing safety glass with these because that was one of my biggest unanswered questions.

That gel block was like “that’s it I’m leaving” when them slugs came out

  24. yunas saxer on October 29, 2021 at 6:13 pm

    great

  25. awizardalso on October 29, 2021 at 6:13 pm

I have a Mossberg M500CRUISER. It’s a short 18-1/2 inch barrel pump action 12 ga shotgun with a pistol grip. The only time I fired it was at an indoor shooting range and used birdshot. I do have a few boxes of 12 ga. shotgun slugs. I bought it for home defense if ever needed.

This channel is definitely underrated. Keep up the good work brotha! And nice to see another lover of 5.45. I’m crazy about my arsenal 5.45

  27. Micah Ross on October 29, 2021 at 6:14 pm

This is some heart stopping kinetic energy.

  28. Matt Caldwell on October 29, 2021 at 6:17 pm

This is the most useless test/debate to have. Its a 12 gauge slug, ALL of them will do the job with a high level of overkill.

  29. Julius B on October 29, 2021 at 6:18 pm

Somebody should get this guy a Past recoil pad for Christmas.

  32. Matthew Powderly on October 29, 2021 at 6:23 pm

At 7:51 you can see a piece of glass fly back from that round

Can i get wild bore bullet

  37. Jen Reedy on October 29, 2021 at 6:35 pm

My pellet gun shoots faster than that first one

  38. Jerry Stott on October 29, 2021 at 6:36 pm

Breneke makes some good slugs. I used them in the 90’s for camp protection here in Alaska. They were accurate from the stoger coach gun I had back then.

  39. Disgruntled Egghead on October 29, 2021 at 6:36 pm

Does anybody have a link to his video on the Dduplex broadheads in the ballistic gel? I can’t seem to find it.

  40. Laurent Marie on October 29, 2021 at 6:36 pm

You can use black powder and a shotshell primer in the exploder.

BUT it must be more safe with a modern fast burn reload powder.

It work pretty well, can’t have it in France… So y build a swag press to do it myself…

    It works, no doubts!!!!

  41. nathan irlam on October 29, 2021 at 6:36 pm

    As Oscar would say: flechette!

  42. José Mujica on October 29, 2021 at 6:37 pm

You should shoot the XP3 Winchester. Those are the most powerful slugs

  43. Ron Matson on October 29, 2021 at 6:39 pm

Always assume tanerite my guy hahahahahaha

  44. Joshuah.a Bailey on October 29, 2021 at 6:40 pm

Great video. Really enjoyed this one .its really cool watching bullets hitting bullet proof glass and of course ballistics gel.

  45. your momma on October 29, 2021 at 6:40 pm

well dang, i was hoping this was an accuracy test from a bench rest at 100 yards. i dont really understand what this slugfest was about.

  46. Scott O,Donahoe on October 29, 2021 at 6:41 pm

20 gauge 3 inch slugs work great for me here in brush country !

  47. YrUsOnOz on October 29, 2021 at 6:41 pm

Slugs are by far the most devastating round other than 00buck you can send down range in the world of shotguns
I use the semi auto VR60 for my backyard fun

  48. No. Step. On. Snek. on October 29, 2021 at 6:42 pm

Lol. it’s not a SWAGed slug like swagger…. It’s swaged like "gauge".

  49. Stormtrooper on October 29, 2021 at 6:43 pm

    yeah you’re definitively american

  50. Cambo Rambo on October 29, 2021 at 6:43 pm

Do you run your shotgun without any chokes when shooting slugs?
