8 Hunting Rifles I Regret Buying

8 Hunting Rifles I Regret Buying

I’ve reviewed dozens of guns on this channel, but there are a few hunting rifles that I would not recommend.

Youtube hates guns. Follow Backfire on Telegram where I can post everything. https://t.me/backfiretv

U know those remingtons are made in China.

Do a review on the Mauser 18 if youll be so kind. I just bought one for my brother in 30.06 and have done zero with it excpt drooling. This gun appears to be a hunny but looks can be deceiving. ive watched a lot of your videos and listen to what you say.

  8. Phil Berry on September 20, 2022 at 8:48 pm

I have a patriot. 308. Was horrible until I changed the scope rings and scope. After that, amazing. I have heard many horror stories about these though.

    Garbage guns!

  10. Mrs. Vasquez III on September 20, 2022 at 8:50 pm

If worried about rust just paint them

  11. Herbert Smith on September 20, 2022 at 8:51 pm

    Thank you.

You can buy a Remington with a wooden stock. The only guns I have with the crap stock, nylon, are both muzzleloaders. Ones a Knight the other is a POS aka CVA.

LMAO. Never trust a gun review in American Rifleman. Every gun is wonderful and how did we ever live without it. Oh, wait, flip on through the mag and wow, there is a 2 page ad for the gun. I also laugh at the Creedmore fanatics. The ballistics of every CM round has been available in other calibers for 50 to 100 years. Not only that, I can make my 6mm Rem AI, my 257 Roberts, my 7×57 and even my 6.5×55 out of 30-06 brass which is never in short supply.

I’ll check for rust on my Axis’s. If I find any I will blame it on the user.
    Good vid. Thx for sharing

I’ve dropped nickel sized groupings with my 783 chambered in 223. Idk what this guy is complaining about. That gun is incredible accurate. The only janky part is the slide on the bolt. But besides that I would put that gun up against allot of other more expensive firearms.

Thank you so much for this review. Literally every single rifle I’ve looked into buying you just solved for me. I was never sure which one was the right one because not enough con reviews are out there. 👏🏻 thanks again. May have to go check out the browning

  18. Dumb Dumber on September 20, 2022 at 9:00 pm

I own a Savage axis chamber in 22-250 an have no rust. Pluse my Remington 783 short action chamber 308, an it has no problem

Funny as. My Savage MK2 is one that needs to be kept oiled well. My model 10 isn’t to bad but I just don’t take that out when it’s likely to get wet. Even if it threatens rain I’ll oil it up. Great rifles otherwise.

  20. marko v on September 20, 2022 at 9:00 pm

I’m interested in your opinion about franchi horizon rifle?

  21. Jack Dundon on September 20, 2022 at 9:03 pm

I have not seen many REVIEWS, I see nothing but presentations! The worst is hickock… has he EVER reviewed a gun????

  22. MrAngenos on September 20, 2022 at 9:03 pm

*phew* hlad the ruger precision rifles not on that list!

  23. Jim Bob on September 20, 2022 at 9:04 pm

Remington 700 is a great rifle

  24. ed on September 20, 2022 at 9:04 pm

Wow what an eye opener, thanks!

  25. TT PNW on September 20, 2022 at 9:07 pm

I really never understood the hype about the savage axis, the moment I picked one up it felt cheaper than an airsoft gun – the can’t stand the flimsy feeling accu-trigger and the bolt felt cheap and loose.. I’ve picked up multiple and all the versions felt the same 🤷‍♂️

  26. Weez naz on September 20, 2022 at 9:09 pm

Correction: this is 7 guns you regret buying. Number 4 has no issues, you’re upset about outside factors not associated with the manufacturer.

  27. robby howell on September 20, 2022 at 9:10 pm

Id like to have a mossberg patriot in like 308 if it had iron sights. just something that u could play with and abuse and not really care.

  28. H B on September 20, 2022 at 9:10 pm

    Well hell yeah

  29. OTR Adventures on September 20, 2022 at 9:12 pm

I’ve had several axis’ and none have ever rusted. Must have changed the blueing at some point.

  30. Steve douglas on September 20, 2022 at 9:12 pm

The rust could be a sign of low quality steel.

  31. Jason F. on September 20, 2022 at 9:14 pm

Stupid reason to dis the PWS.

  32. Michael Wood on September 20, 2022 at 9:18 pm

  33. Mathieu Pigeon on September 20, 2022 at 9:19 pm

Mossberg customer service as been horrible to me, never going to buy a Mossberg again even if i would like to buy a 590.

  34. Train Wreck on September 20, 2022 at 9:19 pm

  36. Old country boy on September 20, 2022 at 9:21 pm

  37. Ambushw23 on September 20, 2022 at 9:22 pm

I work at savage where all the axis and 110s are made, and finishing is definitely one of our weaknesses, the building is awful and it’s hard to keep a steady environment to finish guns correctly all the time but 95% of the time they come out fine and we hope to catch the other 5% but that’s impossible there was a time where all the shorter barrel guns where having issues in finishing as to much moisture was introduced cause the building isn’t air conditioned and old.

  38. Kyle Woytasczyk on September 20, 2022 at 9:26 pm

I mean…. a gun will rust if not wiped down after getting wet. I wipe down and clean after shooting or even hunting

  39. Casey Johnston on September 20, 2022 at 9:28 pm

Rem oil is still good 😊

  40. Johnathan Mcgee on September 20, 2022 at 9:29 pm

My savage is doing the same thing! I was wondering why only my savage is doing it

  41. joseph valo on September 20, 2022 at 9:29 pm

Honestly… The TC Compass Utility 30-06 I have is a nail driver at 100 yards!!! I have about 200 rounds through it and it’s still driving nails literally!!

  42. Jared Haas on September 20, 2022 at 9:30 pm

"8 hunting rifles I regret buying."

Me with only 12 rifles total: I shoulda followed this guy’s career path.

  43. Ben Kreviazuk on September 20, 2022 at 9:32 pm

It’s funny that I found this video now….
Both of my savage rifles came out of my gun cabinet recently with rust on them.

  44. Matt D on September 20, 2022 at 9:33 pm

Cva scout 243 for me. Thanks for the video. My cva is stainless and left it in a box one week after receiving it. Never been out other sight it in. Got so bad rust and pit I oiled it and cleaned it for hours nothing would come off. CVA wouldn’t do anything about it but polish it to black spots looks terrible. Terrible customer service and terrible quality.

  45. william nelson on September 20, 2022 at 9:33 pm

Good job these company’s need to know when thre products are sh t. I used to buy nothing but Remington now any thing but.thanks for a little truth.

  46. Chris Daniel on September 20, 2022 at 9:34 pm

I had a Remington 700 PSS in 308 Win, 26" matte barrel in the mid 90’s that was accurate and solidly built, McMillan stock. I wish I never sold it. I would not buy any of the current models, I will buy a used one if I feel the need.
