The Extar EP9 is $449, with last round bolt open, glock mag capability and exceptional reliability. Just saying.
cmmg all day…just worth it imo
Will phase 5 tactical extended bolt release work on the AR-9?
Also braces will be illegal soon so it doesn’t really matter what brand it has, unless it’s SBR’d it will be illegal. FJB
texture on parts rubbing against each other, probably from machining
Does a longer sight radius matter if you use a red dot?
that sound is coming the bolt carrier it has mill marks on it
that noise happend to me to a few years back, i greased/lubed everything up real nice including the buffer tube and spring even and eventually went away before firing
Hey, I like you and like the reviews. I am an FMP fan boy! W that said, especially in this vid, could you try to hold the gun still so we can look at it more.
AZ GUY!
"Incidental "😉
You can get a .556 for 600 still tho and 9mm is just as expensive to more to shoot so ehh
First video I’ve watched for an AR Pistol and I might say you knocked this one out the park made me want one now!!!
Can you drive with this in the car?
08:06 That’s what she said.

That noise you’re hearing is machining marks on the inside of the buffer tube. The noise is made by the spring rubbing against those ridges. No amount of oil will fix that, I would consider that a manufacturing defect. That tube should be polished smooth inside.
Love the videos, someone please sponsor this man for bullets, send FM an email they are pretty good about getting back to you they may shed some light on the annoying sound.
"Incidental shoulder" is peak sheeple
I see Steve in the background.
what can i do to help stop the lower and upper wiggle?
Gas pistons can run dry all day and night
Try greasing the buffer and buffer spring
Question is, will it meet the qualifications from ATF in August?
I know this is a year old but if you still have it and haven’t found the sound. Take the upper off and pull out the bolt. Then put the charging handle back in, hold the upper upside down so it doesn’t fall out the groove. Then pull it back and forth and see if you hear it. Maybe its the coating on the charging handle. If you don’t hear it, try just the bolt by itself and move it back and forth. Last, take a rod and push the buffer in and out and see if that makes the sound. Hope this helps.
That sounds horrible
In an apocalyptic setting, and you live in a city, where mostly people own 9mm glocks and pistols, ammo is going to be easier to find.
NICE VID RAN ACROSS YOUR BID LOOKING FOR A VID ON A JRM-15 9mm BUT END UP WATCHING THIS IF YOU KNO ANYTHING ABOUT THE JRM LET ME KNOW
The sound when cycling is coated parts rubbing on one another. Based on the wear, I bet you are correct it’s the charging handle and the buffer tube is amplifying the sound.
That’s not the bolt, but the plunger as it compresses the buffer tube spring in the stock/butt. Break is in half at the hinge, and that a rod to push down, (in-out) to compress the buffer spring. I think you’ll find that the ‘spiral’ grooves caused by the machining bore when they drilled the stock. No amount of lube will fix that, the grooves from the boring/machining.
I got a extar ep 9 that was my first intro into ar pistols
I like to see P320 compatible lowers and believe it’ll become more popular 🤙🏻
the noise is clearly machining lines. not a very smooth surface on the inside. like the resolution of a 3d printer
Nice
Thats sound is the buffer. Had the same problem. Try a new buffer
So it’s not piston driven
FM .45 binary review…..
The sound is from buffer/spring and buffer tube.
i could not find these magazines
My freedom ordinance fx9 makes the same exact noise, idk why but interesting that yours makes that sound too.
What size buffer are you using ? I’m planning on building an AR9 with either an Aero EPC lower or New Frontier lower with either an FM9 or PSA 5 inch upper. I’m wanting to use a carbine buffer tube because I want to use an SBA3 brace. So 1. do you have any recommendations for buffer weight/spring weight? 2. Do you have any recommendations for a good aftermarket higher end BCG?
Not uncommon on AR’s and usually charging handle
Extar ep9 at 449 msrp: *Am I a joke to you*
I’d bet money that the noise in the buffer tube is from a crappy machined buffer tube. Yes, they all look alike but a quality buffer tube won’t have tool marks inside the tube itself. Usually you can feel the machine/ tooling marks with your finger and that will create the same noise
😴 get to the point PLEASE
Would love to see you do a video on the PSA 9mm 10.5" pistol and accessories !! thanks for the great videos !!!
Or, you could get a dirt cheap AR-9 lower from PSA, and an Aero Precision upper with LRBHO.
Have you tried putting the CMMG RDB BCG and barrel in this? I think that would be awesome. It would be cool to see an FM ar lower with the cmmg p-mag converters and the RDB BCG on this.
not cheap enough.
better calibers in the pricepoint
My GSG-5 makes that same "dry" sound when working the slide. I don’t notice it when shooting, only on the table when handling.
Whats with the Music ? NOISE in the video??? How about the intended topic?? Noise Sucks! Thats why we have Silencers!!! WTF…UNPROFESSIONAL and presenting feelgood toys! NOT 2A.
