This Bell and Ross BR03-93 GMT was recently released at Baselworld 2016. This watch is “hip to be square” but is anything but square. Throughout the watch industry, most watches we see are rectangular, tonnaeu or cushion shaped. Here we see rigid edges with curved corners and a 24-hour bezel that highlights the dial.
The GMT numbers are untraditionally small which works as an antithesis of the classic large numbers on the dial.
Looking at the case, you’ll find brushed and polished finishing on the case with the polished screw heads making the biggest impact. The robustness of the continues to the back where you’ll find a solid stainless back, a feature of most of the BR01 and BR03 models.
Moving back to the dial, we see a simplistic matte black dial. The numerals and indexes are applied, giving a 3-D aesthetic. The large orange GMT hand is akin to the explorer II in its loos and making the GMT time zone easy to read.
You’ll find that the strap is heavily bolstered and wide to match the girth of the case. At the 12 o’clock side, the iconic Bell and Ross “7” is visible and lightly embossed while e 6 o’clock side is clean. The strap attachment is also unique. There is an evident taper that hugs the lugs and the strap moves to match the case.
