Beretta 92 FS Vertec Grip Profile Conversion Complete

Beretta 92 FS Vertec Grip Profile Conversion Complete

I got my frame back from Allegheny Gun Works where it was anodized with Spec+ Type 3 hard anodizing. The anodizing looks amazing, and this now completes the work on the frame of this gun.

Beretta finally did this with the M9A3, BUT! at $1000+ each they are way out of my price range! You mention changing to the safety to a G decocker? I made the dare to change out the safety and MY GOD! Springs everywhere! Never Again! The extractor is a place that I found build up of powder after the range. You too? thanks for Glock forum I will check it out!

Do you think it is possible to "Vertec" a 92 Compact?

  6. joseph on September 18, 2022 at 8:41 pm

Where you able to just buy a frame in the US?

  7. Tristan Garwood on September 18, 2022 at 8:41 pm

You got some sack, I wouldn’t even think about attempting this.

This short series managed to be recommended to me by YouTube. I couldn’t complain one minute of it. Thankfully, in our current sphere, I managed to upgrade to the 92X fullsize and compact models.

MV, groups look good to me. Fantastic job on the custom mods!

I was actually there last night sighting in a couple rifles. Glad they are back opened for business!

I have had to cuss out a guy for picking up my brass. He wasn’t a RO. Every shot he would reach down and grab my brass and put it in his bucket. I made him pick out and count ever piece of brass and return it to me. To me taking someone else brass while they are still at the range, without asking first, is stealing.

Hey I finally drilled out the front site on my 92fs compact L!!! Worked out fantastic! I love the fiberoptic front site! I have a question I was hoping that you could answer. Do you know if there are any slides that would be compatible with my 92fs /m9a1 lower? The Beretta Compact L has a 92fs slide and an M9A1 lower. I would like to find a 92A1 slide complete so I can send it to Langdon tactical for the optic mount cut because they don’t offer it for the 92fs slide. Any information as always would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Worth the wait. What is your next project?

  18. Ripper13F1V on September 18, 2022 at 8:55 pm

This is exactly what I want to do to my M9A1. I love the gun, but that would take it to a whole new level. Im impressed. Just wish I had the skills and steady hands to do that. Well done, awesome! Hope you can get your vids moved to another platform so I can keep watching and learning!

I know this is l long time ago video but where did you get that frame.

  20. Herman Gonzales on September 18, 2022 at 8:57 pm

I followed your videos the past weeks. I too just had my 95% new to me (used) Beretta- mostly customized, returned last night. It did not change my life, it did not make an operator or even improve my shooting. It showed me what a spoiled man-baby I truly am. Wilson Combat, Langdon, Wolff have a whole market of fellas like me to sell fantasies.

  21. ratagris21 on September 18, 2022 at 8:58 pm

Excellent work and looks like a work of art and I’m sure it shoots like one too.

  22. chzzyg269 on September 18, 2022 at 8:59 pm

This series gave me a little more confidence to do some minor work on my 96 Vertec. It’s not nearly as in depth, but it’s more than I’ve done before, and on a handgun that’s verging on rare. I’m going to file in a full picatinny rail on the frame, it currently has only one lug milled in. File down the trigger guard into something that resembles either a standard 92 with the serrations, or a Sig P320 style front guard. Add horizontal cuts on the front and backstrap to resemble my M9A3 grip. And, if I haven’t given up yet, I’ll break some of the sharp edges around the frame. Lastly, I’m going to get the frame and new barrel duracoated, either by myself or by a professional. I’ve never done anything this in depth before, but I’m confident I can get close to what I’m imagining, and each of these pieces have a plan B, and on the trigger guard a plan C for any major mistakes. I’m in the measuring and ensuring proper tools stage right now. I have to take my time this.

I use S&B primers for when I reload pistol and rifle. I do notice they are a little harder but have yet to have any issues with them after thousands of rounds. Great video as usual and the Beretta looks great! Very nice work.

  24. jeffshootsstuff on September 18, 2022 at 9:01 pm

    Looks awesome. Nice job.

  25. MAS Grey on September 18, 2022 at 9:02 pm

Just amazing! You are a true craftsman. Thank you for sharing.

  26. Misery Loves Shotguns on September 18, 2022 at 9:03 pm

That’s outstanding. Since you bring up the hammer spring; have you ever shot Aguila 124 grain? I was thinking about putting the 12 pound hammer spring in my 92FS but didn’t do it because I was concerned I may have issue with light strikes on the 1000 rounds I have of Aguila. I have the skeletonized hammer and standard trigger bar.

  27. Ron Smith on September 18, 2022 at 9:03 pm

This is one of my favorites in regards to your projects. I’m a huge 92 series fan, some of the finest shooting 9mms IMO.

  28. Chris De La Cruz on September 18, 2022 at 9:04 pm

What else is left to be said, you sir are a badass. I’m still looking forward to meeting you. Great gun great video.

    Absolutely beautiful.

  30. Steven C on September 18, 2022 at 9:05 pm

Sorry to be naive, other than the straight back strap area and some changes in the back strap pattern. What did you want or attempt and what else did you change?

  31. James Larkin on September 18, 2022 at 9:06 pm

I have those VZ G-10 grips as well and love them. Work of art, nicely done!!

  32. Michael Lee on September 18, 2022 at 9:08 pm

Looks GREAT! Does the new finish look the same as the stock finish?

  33. Sipin on September 18, 2022 at 9:09 pm

Once again, the skill you show in your videos using basic tools is amazing.
    Good job.

  34. Michael Lee on September 18, 2022 at 9:12 pm

Great work. How much did they charge to refinish the beretta? Also can you ship this without an ffl?

  35. L S on September 18, 2022 at 9:13 pm

Hi MosinVIrus. Could be possible to make that conversion on a 92 compact model ???

  36. justedbin on September 18, 2022 at 9:15 pm

i go to Angeles Range too! cool howsthe flat profile, i got not so large hands and am thinking of doing the same

  37. ChasingXring on September 18, 2022 at 9:15 pm

Fantastic job. My gunsmith started work on mine about a month ago before I found your video. Hope it turns out as well as yours. Needles to say I am sentimental about my old 92 and this upgrade will make it easier to hold correctly. Superb work Sir.

  38. Daniel Green on September 18, 2022 at 9:16 pm

Great work. This is an older video I know….but do you think the modification you made to the beavertail helped you to grip up higher on the gun, or helped to lock the beavertail into the top of your hand better than the factory one that angles downward? I’ve always wondered why Beretta chose to angle the beavertail like that.

  39. Herman Gonzales on September 18, 2022 at 9:16 pm

BTW, ditch those WC grips it’s not a WC weapon.

  40. Huligone on September 18, 2022 at 9:18 pm

+ Mosin Virus Great video, and project as always. Any idea if Allegheny Gun Works would /could legally accept a completed 80% lower for anodizing?

  43. Samet Cansız Hobi Peşinde on September 18, 2022 at 9:23 pm

People have right to have guns. Nobady can prevent this. I wish good luck for the gun lovers. Give my regards to NRA as gun lover Samet.

  48. JJ Cahill on September 18, 2022 at 9:26 pm

I just finished watching your entire customizing process and am quite amazed at how it turned out; outstanding! As soon as I saw your completed Vertec Mod it immediately brought back memories of my favorite Colt Commander sidearm that served me well. I purchased a 92 Br. Elite after passing on the Colt and am amazed at the great tweaks now available for the Beretta platform! Thank you for your videos!
