California's new landmark gun laws will hold providers of guns legally accountable

California's new landmark gun laws will hold providers of guns legally accountable

In 2019, for gun violence survivor and a Santa clarita high school senior–Mia Tretta, it was losing a best friend to the ghost gun of a 16-year-old student they did not know.

“On that Thursday I got to school like it was any other day–meeting up with my friends, including my best friend, Dominic, Mia Tretta, Gun Violence Survivor and Students Demand Action Volunteer. Like most other plans, we had big plans for our futures. But within seconds, our plans were changed with the sound of a gunshot.”

  21. ARTURO SALGADO on January 4, 2023 at 1:21 am

We keep putting more laws on guns but the more laws on buying guns are useless because if you can’t buy a gun you buy a BBgun and or pellet gun which can be used for bad or good things.

Hate to say it. These laws or any laws, will not stop bad people with guns. Crime will climb.

  29. J Mad on January 4, 2023 at 1:26 am

So just because newsom is having a personal quarrel with Texas, he now thinks its ok to infringe upon our constitutional rights as AMERICAN citizens?? Especially those of us who are tax paying, law abiding citizens of California??He realizes if he presses on with this bill it will choke out gun manufacturers from doing business here due to the ridiculous liabilities. Hence, he’ll slowly weed out all guns in California from all law abiding citizens while criminals continue to arm themselves, commit crime and ultimately be released early from prison. This guy truly has got to get the hell out of Dodge!

  30. Marauder on January 4, 2023 at 1:27 am

Didn’t communist California outlaw loaded open carry back in 67 because gun shops weren’t selling guns to law abiding black Americans

  31. Jack Moon on January 4, 2023 at 1:27 am

    When a society gives people:

    – JUST enough freedom to know what it tastes like to be free
    – JUST enough enslavement to know what it feels like to be a slave
    -ALMOST enough assistance and medication to treat the dissatisfaction with the quality of life;
ENOUGH firearms to arm every person in existence:

Its a miracle THE USA doesn’t have these mass murders daily.

  38. RINGO GRINGO on January 4, 2023 at 1:41 am

That governor of California is a traitor to the Republic.

  39. Grant Ray on January 4, 2023 at 1:42 am

I’m moving out of commiefornia. To a gun sanctuary state. Good riddance Newsom.

  40. M L on January 4, 2023 at 1:43 am

If you support the 2A, and you are considering enlisting in the National Guard or reenlisting, we’re asking you to NOT do that IF your state maintains anti-2A laws that do not include exceptions for trained veterans such as yourself.

If you are under 21 and living in state that infringes your 2A right, then why should you allow that state to EXPLOIT YOU by shoving a firearm in your hand for their purposes, while they show NO RESPECT for you? Many of us veterans were good enough to fight wars, but not good enough to have 2A rights? It’s an insult to our honorable service and many years of training.

Thank you for serving but you can serve in other ways. Enlisting into active duty or Reserve duty is federal service. National Guard is STATE service. The National Guard is an “organized militia” as defined under 10 U.S. Code 246. DO NOT take an oath to obey the orders of a Governor that has NO RESPECT FOR YOU OR THE CONSTITUTION. Yes, the oath of enlistment for the National Guard swears allegiance to a governor!

This boycott is NOT an attack on anyone that has served or is serving in the National Guard. This boycott is LEGAL RESISTANCE towards state governments that do not support our rights or the Constitution by and large. This type of action is the only thing that state governments seem to understand. DO NOT LET THEM EXPLOIT YOU.

The states prohibit certain firearms for anyone under the age of 21. Why should you bear arms only for the state? California, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Vermont, Washington and New York

  41. Bob Bobbington on January 4, 2023 at 1:44 am

So… if a build a p!pebomb and then drive car to use it in a crime, California will punish Home Depot and the Ford dealership?

  42. 1guysopinion on January 4, 2023 at 1:46 am

False facts to make you afraid, mass shootings happen the most in the states with the strictest gun laws. Fact.
I mean how stupid does the station think we are? They use quotes from "The Giffords Law Center" an organization who’s purpose is to eliminate guns. Their opening statement online is "We won’t rest until every state has strong gun safety laws…". Biased anyone… as I said this station is providing a fake narrative to push a leftist agenda.

  43. William Gallant on January 4, 2023 at 1:50 am

California has become the first property to convert from democracy to Socialism. This law should have been reviewed with public opinions and put on a ballot. Our Republic has been dumbed down and the public being influenced by news stations publishings only partial information. The gun/weapon is NOT the issue it is the person, but what the governor does is take a left wing abortion bill and replaces the word fetuses with gun/weapon. If I lived in California it would be time to create a class action lawsuit. I believe this law is unconstitutional!

  44. Brian on January 4, 2023 at 1:53 am

Honestly these gun laws are pointless. Criminals will get whatever they want one way or another. So many people in this country illegally, gangs everywhere, tons of crime. Our leaders have no control over the situation and if SHTF these criminals are gonna run the streets because they’ll be the only ones with proper weapons. If our leaders can’t protect us now imagine if things got really bad. Why they want to keep punishing law abiding citizens makes no sense.

  45. jdb 1821 on January 4, 2023 at 1:53 am

Got to remember there’s always somebody who is dirty in the government always.

  46. A midget dwarf on January 4, 2023 at 1:54 am

This is why I’m leaving…I can’t live in a state that doesn’t want you to be able to defend yourself and your family at the same time trying to defund the police 🤦…HOW CAN WE PROTECT OURSELVES!!

  47. Creez on January 4, 2023 at 1:55 am

So…stricker gun laws do exactly what to illegal gun ownership? Nothing. Bunch of clowns. How about focus funding on educating our youth.
