I need help my a 17 hmr I took it a part to clean it and put it Back together now I am having Problems it will fire shell eject it put another one in and when you pull the trigger there’s nothing it should fire back to back it’s a semi automatic any suggestions
This is the worst most unreliable gun I’ve ever bought.I thought I finally got it to shoot good and then the next time out it jammed at least 2 shots out of every mag.I had at least 20 jams last time out.The bullet only went half way out of the mag and jammed the action open but the firing pin still clicked when I pulled the trigger.I’m going to buy a Tikka bolt action and sell this lemon and never look back.I’ve only had 2 visits to the range where it didn’t jam and wouldn’t take this junk hunting because you can’t count on it to work.
Except if you have to clean the bore you have to clean from the muzzle end of the riffle. A traditional cleaning rod will not go down the bore from the rear of the firearm. The barrel is angled upwards to allow for proper feeding of the cartridge. The down side is, it puts it in. An angle that won’t allow a cleaning rod to enter strait into the barrel. Thus rubbing on the upper side of the barrel eroding you chamber away. The only downfall to this rifle.
I have not yet done what you have mentioned. I bought the rifle yesterday and only have shote 90 rounds through it.
It is hitting me in the face with burning powder every few shots. Do you have any idea what to do about that?
I’ve purchased 3 Savage guns in the last 30 days. The a17 was the biggest letdown of any gun I’ve ever bought. After the first three shots the bolt kept slamming the rotary magazine. After I got the gun home I noticed from underneath where the magazine goes in there’s a little metal rod coming out so I pushed it back in now the magazine goes in just fine and it Cycles just fine but now the both won’t come out. I am very good with guns and I know what I’m doing. I think I got a lemon, it’s going back to Scheels tomorrow
I especially loved the part where you forgot to put the bolt back in, and skipped to the fully reassembled rifle (neglecting the hardest steps in the process) so you wouldn’t have to reshoot. What a ridiculously inadequate video.
The A17 and A22 rifles CAN NOT be cleaned from the breach with a cleaning rod ( MAJOR DESIGN FLAW, designers became lazy when designing the rear plastic cover and metal tab protruding upward from the receiver to hold the cover from moving back ) if you use a cleaning rod it will have to be cleaned form the muzzle and risk damaging the crown AND LOSE ACCURACY.
You will have to use a bore snake to clean the bore from the breach.
Savage please design and sell a muzzle guide for USING a cleaning rod for the A17 AND A22.
Any idea why my Savage 22a magnum isn’t shooting Winchester 30 grain 2250 fps.. will not cycle eject the spent shell kind of disappointing I just spent $500
I have a problem that sometimes the action doesn’t cycle, and also it seems like the trigger sticks, even though I have cleaned it thoroughly a few times.
I guess everybody’s an expert huh

I have remove the recoil assembly and the bolt handle will not come out of the bolt it’s self help?
Excellent… clear and concise. I did find that the 1/8" pin punch was too large diameter and using a 3/32" is correct size.
is it chromed barrel?
Thanks man awesome demonstration, easy to follow and now my gun is ready for rabbit hunting.🤙
very well done clip. Thank you
is there a video on how to clean the spent powder out of the trigger assembly?
What kind of grease do you use for the slid again
Great video help me out alot

Im going to assume this is pretty similar to cleaning the A22 as well?

Just picked up one of these from pawn shop. Nice video, simple instructions for cleaning. Heck, I can still find ammo in this caliber.
Just took mine out for the first time today and it ran flawlessly. I almost pity those prairie dogs that’ll find themselves on the business end.
shouldn’t the trigger assembly be cleaned also ? pretty sure things went get in there too ?
*Help* i pulled the trigger on accident how do i fix the gun it won’t cock when im pulling the slide back
what is the range of adjustment on the accutrigger for the A17?
Barrel?

Can’t get my magazine to stay in , help, I have the thumbhole stock version
I don’t understand why you need to pull the trigger assy to recock the hammer…

Do you store the rifle with the hammer cocked or do you pull the trigger to release the firing pin?
you would think the plastic tip on the recoil spring would be metal, I like the rifle but to long to clean it when trigger assembly is removed
Actually, you will have to remove a standard mounted scope to get the bolt out. This is because the bolt comes upwards as it exits the action.

Is there a place in the stock to store a punch that could be used for disassembly?
My trigger sticks and doesn’t reset after firing. Can you show how to adjust the trigger, and exactly what tool is needed?
What a good, clean video…. Thank you
