The 2-Stage Tanto, designed by Robert Carter from Texas, doesn’t just look tough – it is tough. Built with a sturdy frame lock frame and outfitted with black anodized aluminum scales, the 2-Stage folder offers undeniable strength in design. It’s got an extended back spacer striker pommel with lanyard hole and a four-position reversible pocket clip. The tanto blade is black tumbled stainless steel and opens with the flipper tab. This is a lust-worthy folding knife with substance.

Ruger Knives chose to work with CRKT to produce a full-line of hunting, tactical, and everyday carry knives. Their knives feature the designs of five of the industries top knife makers.

Is this model still available, if so where can I purchase?

  3. kyle_429 on September 23, 2022 at 8:39 pm

This is sick! It’s like a production version of Robert Carter’s F-16 folder. I want one!!

That tanto tip looks wayyy too big to be effective. Too beefy for a stab, less room for a normal cutting edge. (compared to other tanto options.)
These Ruger knives seem to be a joke, more like a knife for a ruger fan rather than someone who is into knives.
I clicked this thinking it said review at a quick glance, but why would blade HQ review a knife? To drive customers away from bad products? No, a knife sales company wouldn’t do that. It’s cool that you feature videos for most knives for potential buyers, but it would be great for some companies to flat out reject some of these dumb options, or give their real opinions on them. (Like the Ruger line of CRKT knives. Almost 50$ for an impractical tanto, deathly heavy and 8cr13mov?..)
Looks like they commissioned the Chinese factory that does Hinderer ripoffs to make these lol.

Looks like there is some inspiration from medford in that knife

They should reconfigure the handle in such a way as to ad another 3/4 in. to the blade and center the point of the tanto to be more centered on the handle. If they did that I wouldn’t be able to resist buying it.

BladeHQ has the handle material listed as Aluminum not SS, but at 8.10 oz it must be stainless steel.

that is the only seration i have ever seen that looks cool must of the time i hate how the seration interupts the flow of the blade

The knife is called the 2-Stage not Stage-2 it is named after the 2-Stage trigger on firearms.

  19. SmElly on September 23, 2022 at 9:23 pm

Dig the knife. Just not that tanto blade shape.

  20. Edgearoth on September 23, 2022 at 9:25 pm

Too heavy. Ruger is also kinda meh, not for knife guys. More of an impulse buy item at a sporting good store.
