The safety protruding down to your trigger finger is a feature. You can feel if it’s safe or live without looking or moving your hand.

Your reviews and optimizing tips are quite helpful…thanx! Just ordered a V7, standard barrel. With regard to the buffer spring, Damage Industries offers it in either Carbine or Rifle. Did you replace yours with the Carbine length? And if so is it because of the adjustable stock?

Owning a Geiselle Super Duty i can tell you that Daniel Defense is hype and overpriced what you get in my opinion. My Geiselle for same or less comes 100% optimized from tip to butt. I shouldn’t have to upgrade anything especially that horrible 7-8 pound trigger on a top tier rifle at that price point. Try a Geiselle and you’ll see for yourself.

Bought one of these in January. They are money well spent. Added a PA 1×6 scope with the acss reticle. And a surefire scout dual fuel. Not a single complaint. Trigger is badass too.

Shoot a rifle. Tell me if you hear the buffer at all when you shoot. The Spikes buffer is just a marketing gimmick. Don’t waste your time on it.

Can you explain to me the difference between the Lightweight Profile barrel of the Ddm4 V7 slw and the government profile barrel of the Ddm4 V7 or MK18?
What is the difference ?
Is the service life of a Lightweight Profile barrel significant compared to a government profile barrel ? Is the light cannon of the same quality as the government cannon? I don’t quite understand these terms…

Do you own any BCMs? I have a 16 Recce BCM BFH Chrome lined – it’s comparable to this DD including price. I want to get another AR not sure if I want another BCM (I love my BCM) I feel with DD you’re paying a lot for the brand rather than the rifle.

Hey great review I was actually trying to choose between the two today the light weight version and the normal version and I still can’t really figure out the differences?? Is it just the weight because it’s not really even that much lighter than the normal ddm4v7 16”. Also how is it holding up I obviously would prefer the latest model possible just wanna make sure it’s gonna last. Thanks so much

I have the SLW, first change I made was I put in a Trigger Tech 3.5lb comp and an Aimpoint comp 5 " geiselle mount " on top. Love it Super Fast Tracking, would kill many Bad Guys Fast for sure lol.

My first Firearm was a DDM4V11LW. Great weapon. Sold it to get a CMMG Mutant. I’ve since gotten a POF Renegade+. Anyone looking at a Daniel Defense should look at the POF Renegade+ DI. The lower receiver alone is incredible. I love the Ambi bolt catch button in the trigger guard.

I’m considering purchasing this rifle. I’m wondering it adding a suppressor for home defense would make the rifle too long. It’s frustrating trying to buy a SBR and not have it for almost a whole year.
