El Dorado County ammo store waits for vendor license

An El Dorado County ammunition store is on the brink of closing after the store owner said he applied for a new license from the California Department of Justice to sell ammunition and never heard back. The ammunition vendor license is a new operating requirement as of Jan. 1, 2018. Chris Puehse has owned Foothill Ammo in Cameron Park since 2015. He said he applied for the new license in November and paid a $198 fee, but on Tuesday, he was told by the state DOJ that is hasn’t been processed yet.
