If you build the frame on the bottom into a floor you can store a large propane bottle and run a line in for a heater. The floor can be used for all kinds of storage

Love your comment on U tube police. I had many conversations with safety supervisors because they thought they knew the OSHA rules but didn’t. They would then say it was policy. Do things as you want to since the laws don’t apply at home. Heat stress can kill

Hello Andrew 🙂 This is the nicest deer blind I’ve ever seen. As always, you did an outstanding job on this build. Happy Hunting!

  8. Charles Travis on October 28, 2021 at 8:33 pm

Very good for a one person build.

  9. Collins L Bailey Jr on October 28, 2021 at 8:35 pm

You might want to paint the undersides sky blue so you don’t have bee’s and wasps.

  10. Christopher Smith on October 28, 2021 at 8:35 pm

That was a very expensive build to get only 6 feet off the ground! But looks great!!

  11. Jesse Cuppett on October 28, 2021 at 8:35 pm

    Looks good!!

  12. DRT Hunt Club on October 28, 2021 at 8:36 pm

Very nice, maybe a little camo to blend it in to the woods. I made one 4×6 on 6 foot platform. https://youtu.be/cGC_GKvucAg

  13. Mike Naracon on October 28, 2021 at 8:38 pm

  17. Jeffrey Murphy on October 28, 2021 at 8:47 pm

What did you use for the siding on your shooting house? It looks great!

  18. Scott R on October 28, 2021 at 8:47 pm

You did a great job. I’m in the process of building mine. Couple questions:
Are the windows 36×12? Plexiglass, right? Clear, or grey?
How did you design / build the door?

    Thanks!

  19. Tom Tillman on October 28, 2021 at 8:49 pm

    Sweet. Nice job!

Nice build! Great looking spot too. I live in Mississippi, a major hurricane and tornado state. I long ago gave up the idea of building storm proof shooting blinds. Not worth the effort or the cost. If a hurricane, tornado, or even just a straight line windstorm actually does hit your blind (or trees or limbs crash down on it), it will shatter it to pieces no matter how you build it. Hurricane Ida just hit one of my blinds that I used Simpson Strong Tie hurricane rated ties and fasteners. They held up fairly well, but overall Ida still damaged the blind pretty badly. So if you are going to have to rebuild the blind either way, there’s no sense worrying about over building with the hope of avoiding storm damage. Just build it cheaply and if it gets destroyed, rebuild it the same way.

How/why did you use bead board for external sheathing?? My shooting house is elevated, and I’m struggling w decision as to what to use for sheathing! Suggestions? Rationale?

  25. TheRedrooster78 on October 28, 2021 at 8:57 pm

Love the shooting house. I built one a couple of years ago and didn’t have a tractor to lift it so had to build it in the garage then take it apart at rebuild it at my site, what a pair that was. You did an excellent job!

All by yourself and your giant helper John Deere…

  28. nathan evans on October 28, 2021 at 9:00 pm

Lumber is so high right now. I ant to build one but man.

  29. Kevin Bowers on October 28, 2021 at 9:00 pm

I think you just made up my mind on the size of my hunting blind.

  30. Mike King on October 28, 2021 at 9:04 pm

    very nice work 🎯

  31. hillbilly2141tn on October 28, 2021 at 9:04 pm

This is exactly what I’m trying to build for myself. It looks amazing. Did you happen to keep up with plans, or did you throw it together in your head?
Have the windows kept the rain and bugs out ok?
Do you like the windows to swing out and up the way they do, or would it be beneficial to have them open out, but down?

  32. bill myers on October 28, 2021 at 9:05 pm

are the roof metal ridges running the wrong direction? looks like the channels will hold water when it rains. it appears the channels are running side to side instead of front to back or i am seeing this wrong

  33. Ryannlyn B on October 28, 2021 at 9:05 pm

    How much in total???

  34. Mark B. on October 28, 2021 at 9:09 pm

I think it’s Awesome… but the title of this video is misleading. Didn’t show a shooting house "build". It shows a shooting house placement. Nonetheless… A+++ Very Well Done!!!

  35. Jason Dauzat on October 28, 2021 at 9:09 pm

Very nice!!! Looks like it will last for a long time!!! 💪

  36. Scott Davis on October 28, 2021 at 9:09 pm

Nice work. Looks great. Always nice to have a tractor to do the heavy work.
I ran across your channel in search of 4066 videos. I enjoy them as well as your thorough explanations. Keep up the great work. How many acres are you on there ?

  37. James Wagner on October 28, 2021 at 9:10 pm

Looks great ! Good job 👍

  38. bradh74 on October 28, 2021 at 9:14 pm

Hell I would sleep in that stand. You could get a power invertor and solar cell, electric heat the whole 9 yards. I seen another video where a guy used weather stripping for a garage door I thought it was a ingenious idea just thought I’d tell you incase you wanted to keep the bees and wasps out. Nice job by the way looks like a great way to spend a day hunting.

  39. Rhonda Britt on October 28, 2021 at 9:16 pm

Great job. Nervous when you were lifting it up. You can see everything. Looks awesome.

  40. Vonky Tonk on October 28, 2021 at 9:19 pm

Top notch! No one can/should critique your carpentry skills. Looking forward to following you during hunting season. Started this weekend for me but it’s too damn hot! Good luck 👍

That is a very nice set up. I’m new to your channel so I’m not sure if you featured the whole build but I’d love to see it. Or do you have the plans?
    Again that’s some fine work
