This time on The Gun Collective, we are unveiling the new XTech Tactical MAG47 for 7.62 AK’s! Jon Patton heads out to the desert in Arizona to destroy a mountain of non-usable AK mags with the help of Charlie Melton, Spike-O-Myte Binary and of course, XTech Tactical. We set off 650 pounds of binary explosives from about 800 yards away with a rifle chambered in 22 Tejas. Check out that SHOCKWAVE!

This is right up there with the Picture I seen on social media of some eastern European country that had hundreds of thousands of bakelite AK mags used to fill pot holes in the gravel roads.

Between trying too hard to be funny with a corny video to announce a new-ish mag and surplus and commercial steel mags being as cheap as they are, I see no reason to buy these.

What in the hell was the reason to destroy what I assume we’re perfectly good working magazines! With the amount of needy AK owners here in the U.S. it’s downright disgraceful. It was an otherwise cool video, just could have done without the senseless violence.

Guys, I see a lot of you asking why we destroyed the mags. They had to be destroyed because of an legal issue and instead of doing it some boring way, we decided to have a ton of fun with it. Hope you enjoy the video!
You can’t even take the u.s. plam mag and disassemble them for quick cleaning.
From what I have gathered I think it was a copy right issue. They destroyed them instead of giving them to the competitor. It was not a state high capacity ban because their new mags are large as well. This is my best guess.

i really hope someone has cleaned up the mess of 8400 mags blown to pieces otherwise everyone participating in this "project" should be sued for littering!

I use the tried and true (but heavy) CommBlock Metal surplus mags which I have more on hand than Iāll ever need in my lifetime. If a SHTF scenario ever happens while I am still young enough to care, I can easily acquire as many guns and mags as I want. I have more than enough of everything I need saved up in case that day ever comes. New and improved AK and AR mags are great … but only if you have a use for them.

Sorry(Not Sorry), but this was just fucking retarded. No way to sell them or at least give them away to anybody who’ll take them? I don’t buy it. You were able to transport them out to the desert to be blown up, but couldn’t dump them in someone’s warehouse? Excellent shot, cool explosion, awesome rifle, interesting new mag, but absolutely fucking terrible business decision. The rigged chassis/stock comparison vid and now this?
If people looked at the part with the guy doing mag angel. they would see that they didn’t have followers or floor plates, just shells and they look like U.S. palm mags (look at mag at guys left foot big give away) So they destroy palm to get theirs out there on the market w/o all that leftover surplus U.S.palm to compete with.

This was great. My wife said that she heard glass shatter from the shock wave but we can’t find anything broken.
