I have a franken fal, and it won’t cycle, i adjusted the gas valve, but that made the magazine blow out the bottom. Any advice?

Thanks for a good vid and some fantastic Afrikaans!

When you use the word ‘weermag’ it refers to defense force and when you want to reference army in Afrikaans you would say ‘Leër’ (pronounced Lee-er).

The thing that the manuals always said about the prone posistion to be the most important of all was that your heels must be on the ground (which you did 😀 )

And i remember when i did basic training, instructors were always arguing about albow up or elbow down, but because i was in an armoured regiment, we were taught elbow down. While elbow up was a relic of the battle rifle era, we were using the R5 which you could actually fire and control with only one hand so the extra shoulder wasnt required, and you make a smaller target coming around corners and such.

A great video that brings back some memories even though the rifle you got there isnt an R1…

    Loved it!

Good video man… good info. I’ve been wanting a FAL but most of the kits have dried up and DSA quality ain’t what it used to be. I’ve read some horror stories about their receivers being out-of-spec. I can’t justify paying $1700 for a rifle that might be a lemon. I wish we had more FAL options.

Hahaha some lekker Afrikaans at the end there. Great Rhodie paint job. Rhodesia purchased 30000 R1’s from South Africa. So many Rhodie "FN’s" were in fact R1’s. Most if not all had the SA Coat of Arms machined out prior to export. Hence the Rhodie FAL’s have a hole in the receiver.

Hey, you know, if you do any kind of competition with the fal, like three gun or two gun, that would make cool video. Nobody ever does that.
