In this video we shoot and discuss the FN FNX-45 Tactical model. This is likely the best suppressor host on the market, let alone one of the best 45 ACP combat handguns available. Although the price is a little on the high side, the features packed into this gun are worth every penny.

Lol what’s that flag patch on his shoulder? Kinda looks like Germany’s flag in the early 40’s. Interesting username, too.

  2. Stephen Fannin on June 29, 2022 at 7:21 pm

    The 45 holds 15+1 but the 40 only holds 14+1 ☹

Just bought fnx 45 tactical. Recommended grain for self defense? Targeting? Type? Brass or is nickel plated ok?

  6. Nathan Keel on June 29, 2022 at 7:24 pm

Maybe you shouldn’t shoot steel targets next time you’re showing us a suppressed gun.

  7. Alexander Carnathan on June 29, 2022 at 7:24 pm

I’m getting myself this gun for my birthday next month

  8. Venom GT72 on June 29, 2022 at 7:29 pm

I still can’t find this gun at my local gun store in Maryland!
    Any recommendations???

  10. Josh O on June 29, 2022 at 7:30 pm

At 3:13, the suppressor got bent upward. Did anyone else notice that?

  11. doseofreality100 on June 29, 2022 at 7:31 pm

Thumb up just for the "haha… clipped him right in the face."

  12. David on June 29, 2022 at 7:32 pm

    Decock with support hand?

  13. Deus Vult on June 29, 2022 at 7:33 pm

I’ve owned one. It sucked. 100 rounds through it, almost 50 malfunctions. FN selling a $500 gun for $1200.

  14. Kirk Heiser on June 29, 2022 at 7:33 pm

Plink, plink, plink!!! Just spent $1750 bucks tonight on this pistol. Mine is the flat dark earth color (no idea why they went that route with the name) and I put the Sig Romeo1 reflex on it! I can’t wait to shoot tomorrow!!! That price includes the Romeo1 at $299.

  15. Mike Fink on June 29, 2022 at 7:33 pm

I have had this same pistol for over five years now. It is, hands-down, the most reliable 45 automatic that I know of. It runs clean, dirty, or suppressed, no matter what. My only problem is that its grip is very wide even with the thinnest backstrap installed. This is really a handgun for folks with larger hands. With a 15 round magazine, I just can’t imagine why this wasn’t adopted by the US military.

  16. kao yo-bruh on June 29, 2022 at 7:34 pm

    Sexy pistol…very sexy

  17. Blake Hernandez on June 29, 2022 at 7:37 pm

So you mentioned your GI buddies buy a back up because the decocker mechanism is a bitch to work on. Is your average joe civilian at risk of this too or is it more of a combat problem?

  18. John McCain on June 29, 2022 at 7:38 pm

I was very disappointed in this gun. Obviously during an Ammo shortage steel cases Ammo is a bit more readily available. A 1200 dollar gun should be able to eat it up this does not. It is a nice gun but kind of a pansy.

  19. joe james on June 29, 2022 at 7:38 pm

I get to pick mine up in a few days. I’m excited

  20. Stanley Wrubel on June 29, 2022 at 7:38 pm

  24. southernbredanglers on June 29, 2022 at 7:42 pm

You need some bird shot leave the pistols alone or alot more practice

  25. Mac Breck on June 29, 2022 at 7:43 pm

    Eric,

The magazine release buttons are a little too big and easy to press for my taste, the loaded magazine weighs a lot (15 rounds of 230 gr. 45 ACP and the magazine is almost a teflon-like, frictionless fit.  The only thing holding the magazine in the pistol is the catch that the magazine release operates, not any friction between the smooth sides of the magazine and the magazine well in the pistol.  I’ve accidentally almost dropped the loaded magazine out of the pistol a couple of times.   Now, when I fire the pistol, I cup the palm of my left hand under the magazine base as part of my two-handed grip.

Any remedy for this? I just wish the magazines didn’t fit so loosely in the pistol, i.e. that there was SOME friction between the sides of the magazine and the magazine well.

  27. 717CHRIS on June 29, 2022 at 7:48 pm

Well how worried should I be about the cocking mechanism breaking, being as tho its over $1000 so I probably wont be buying 2 and who can fix it and uh how much will that be.

  28. 717CHRIS on June 29, 2022 at 7:49 pm

Do you have any issues with the suppressor getting loose? If not how do you mount it?

  29. Justin Cruz on June 29, 2022 at 7:51 pm

The long range shots he made really pushed me to get it. Its a good pistol for long range shots and very easy to shoot up close.

  30. Antiquated Ideas on June 29, 2022 at 7:54 pm

What coat is that? I’ve never seen Norwegian surplus like that

  31. Dr. Thumbtzen on June 29, 2022 at 7:54 pm

  34. Hawai’i Vibes808 on June 29, 2022 at 8:00 pm

I heard that the only problem on this is the injection of the bullet hitting the corner of the sight?

  35. Johnny Rotten on June 29, 2022 at 8:02 pm

what jacket is that? norwegian flag!

  36. drew55974 on June 29, 2022 at 8:02 pm

I love my usp 45 it has 3 less rounds but way more comfortable in my opinion

  37. Pen Name on June 29, 2022 at 8:03 pm

The question is how easy it is to break the de-cocking mechanism?

  38. Tsunami FlipFlop on June 29, 2022 at 8:07 pm

This would have been a lot better if we could hear the volume of the surpressor instead of CLANK CLANK CLANK on the metal targets

  39. Samurai Jonz on June 29, 2022 at 8:10 pm

Does this fully semiautomatic gun shoot 30 caliber clip magazines with heat seeking capabilities

  40. Kevin Cease on June 29, 2022 at 8:10 pm

I didn’t know dropping the safety down could decock. Is that normal with other brands?

  41. David Lofton on June 29, 2022 at 8:13 pm

This is BY FAR AND AWAY my favorite hunting gun for pigs here in south Texas. Yes!!!!! Your read that correctly. I use .45 Super in this weapon and it puts a THUMPING on piggies.

  42. CEO. N on June 29, 2022 at 8:13 pm

    Cool

  46. Mac Breck on June 29, 2022 at 8:15 pm

Wonder what the velocity difference is between the FN FNX 45 Tactical (5.3" barrel) and the FN FNX 45 (4.5" barrel). Some 45 hollowpoints need every bit of extra velocity that you can give them to expand properly and consistently.

  47. Robert Goodrich on June 29, 2022 at 8:15 pm

Do any of you naysayers own this pistol? I’ve had mine for about 5 years. I shoot it a couple of times a month. NO malfunctions with multiple types of ammo, including a bunch of steel cased. NO problem with the mag release. It is not as accurate as my 1911 or my revolvers, but is combat accurate. My hands are a little bigger than average, and I find no issues with the grip. US military is missing out with their little 9 mm’s. I absolutely love my FNX.

  48. Alex on June 29, 2022 at 8:16 pm

    A magnificent gun all around.
