I’ve got one and love it.
Only problem I’ve ever had with it is because of the stout recoil spring. This caused failure to lock open on last round with my original hand loads.
I like this firearm, the only downside of this pistol is that the interchangeable backstraps tend to shift down while shooting. Very annoying. The feature set offered on this pistol is amazing. It was the original 19X. The frame is the same size as a G17 and the slide the same as a G19. All controls are ambidextrous.
Good review. I own the FN509 Tactical, and use it for my bedside gun. It is decked out with a light, suppressor, and red dot. While I do love it, I prefer a hammer pistol, which is where this beauty comes in. I love it. I own the 9mm and the 45 tactical and adore them all!
Great review, I picked one up the other day and it’s a sweet rig. Very underrated.. looks great and feels great I actually prefer the double actual single action and I feel like the safety is a bonus a lot of people don’t like it I feel like it’s a little bonus
Awesome video. Thank you for sharing a “diamond in the ruff”. Long time fan of FN and hammer fired handguns. Another gem that you may want to look into is the Sig 2022 or the CZ P 07. Both are awesome weapons that don’t seem to get the attention as their striker fired counterparts
Great honest review. Thank you for preparing and sharing with us FN fans. I want one of these pistols as well. Big fan of FN. Grew up hunting with Browning shotguns and rifles.
I also own S&W 915 & Shield 2.0, Glock 19 Taurus G2C & PT111 Pro… and the FNX-9 is my favorite as well. I’ve owned that for about 8 yrs now. Very accurate, reliable, feels good in my hands and to me, it just looks the best. Down side is after-market upgrades are hard to find. However, I just ordered a CAA MCK and Glock 17 to live in that chassis… so all this might change for me when these arrive.
I have a FNH FNX 45 tactical but I also own a FNX 9. Yes the 45 has the ability to run all the bells and whistles and I do use it for range shoots. But everyday carry is the FNX 9 . The love the DA/SA sidearms. I also still own a 3rd gen Smith the 5906 . Like I said the DA/SA pistols are what I am most comfortable with Sig p229 and so on. The only striker fire pistol I own is a 3rd gen Glock G20. At the time I felt it was the best choice for 10mm.
Anyway I went off topic. The FNX 9 is more than combat accurate and it is easy to field strip and maintain . Everyone who has handled this firearm has fallen in love with it. I also purchased the FN/ Galco leather paddle holster which completes it. But once you add a taclight you almost have to go with Kydex which I really do not care for.
The biggest point of the FNX: weight. The FNS is heavier and the 509 are even heavier than the FNS. I don’t know why no one is talking about FN handguns getting fat.
Great review. The FNX high on the list along with H&K’s USP 30 LEM V.1. I suspect the FNX will come first. H&K is a bit to pricey at the moment.
Not shooting anyone or anything you do not intend to shoot is Not the function of any safety from Glock’s "Safe Action" through variations of 1911 ‘Cocked & Locked" or any variation of DA/SA. Not shooting anything or anyone I do not intend to shoot is a function and the purpose of my Brain Cells. Semi-Auto pistols made since 1980 (and most before then) simply will not discharge unless the trigger is pressed all the way through the firing sequence. Safeties are to prevent the trigger from being pressed all the way through the firing sequence. Period. That is All they are for and that is all they do.
With quality firearms, there really is no ‘Best’ pistol. There are ones I Like Best & there are those I Like Less. My CZ’s aren’t "Better" than my Sigs or Glocks I just Like them Best. Over the years I’ve had many different kinds of pistols. Right now I favor DA/SA semi automatics. I like putting my thumb on the hammer when I re-holster. If the hammer moves, something is wrong. So I stop. No one wants Glock leg
I think what folks mean by _"it doesn’t have a good trigger"_ regarding the FNX9 is the longer trigger pull. I dislike long trigger pulls too just because it slows up you fast shooting ability. But this is just a guess as *_"a good trigger"_* is very subjective to the individual & organization (example: police like long & heavy triggers for safety, Cowboy action shooter like "hair" triggers, the military like two stage triggers on their M16/Ar-15, etc.).
God bless
*EDIT* BTW: My brother just bought (March 2021) the newer *FN 509* _without a manual safety/de-cocker_ I think that is what most folks are buying over the older but similar FNX9.
This was my first gun. I’ve shot a few hundred rounds with no malfunctions and basically limp wristing it. Gonna get a cz P10F or C soon and go to the range with both with proper locked wrists to see how hard I can push it. Gonna be a hoot if I actually prefer the fn for it’s super quick sa trigger
FNH in all forms are underrated. We have a couple here, FNX9 and FNS40 both great pistols. Those magazine springs are STOUT. I love that the FNX can be carried condition 1 as well as DA/SA.
I agree as mine is a very sweet shooter.
This is my first pistol just bought it few days ago
Yes MY Next
I have the fnx 9 and the fnx 45 tact. Got the 9 used for 400 bucks with 3 mags. And case it looked barely shot . The sa/da was the clincher for me .
If this had the same tactical model like the 45, I would buy it..
I’ve got one and love it.

It is a great gun but the biggest gripe I have on it is the recoil spring. It’s really heavy, compared to other 9mm handguns.
FN would have made a small fortune if they would have offered a FNX-9 tactical on release
This and the IWI Jericho Enhanced 9mm are the 2 most underappreciated combat ready handguns.

IMO. Striker fired for the range. DA/SA for self defense. DAO works for me too. Anything but a Glock trigger.
I LIKE MINE AS MUCH AS MY 1911 AND FAR MORE THAN ANY GLOCK., ALL IT COULD USE IS TRITUM NIGHT SIGHTS AND THREADED BARREL IMO
Pistolet shume e mire dhe e bukur.
I had one of these that I sold. I want another one
Great honest review. Thank you for preparing and sharing with us FN fans. I want one of these pistols as well. Big fan of FN. Grew up hunting with Browning shotguns and rifles.
Where you @how much
FN needs to keep up with the times. 10mm, 357 Sig and 5.7×28 are the calibers of the future. 9mm, 40 and 45 are relics of the past.
If it had an optics cut that would be the perfect carry gun for me. My FNX 45 is my absolute favorite pistol of all time.
Seem like u have great prices on firearms can I have the store fb or website? Accurate inventory?

Good vid… props for this pistol is long over due.
I like hammer fired pistol also. I own this exact gun it’s my edc. I especially love it because I am left handed.
What’s the difference between the fnp9 and the fnx9? Or are they the same gun?
Regret selling mine at least once a week
Totally agree ! I love mine !
I hope they won’t discontinue it like they did with FNS.
A friend of mine just got one of these. I don’t like that plastic safety.
Hi. Just wanted to know where you got the pistol stand. BTW I enjoy your videos.
I love it too it’s the price that holds it back in my opinion but it did turn me on to CZ’s because of the price
FNx are good.. fns have had their issues, my local police department dropped the FNS last year due to it having a chance to fire by itself

I have the 9 and the .45 and love them both
Would you rather have this or a 19X?
Bought the FN FNP 45 as my first gun when they came out. Looking for a FNX 9 now.
My wife and I bought an FN FNX-9 for each of us and we love them!
It’s a nice gun I just wish the back straps fit securely
I shot my friends fnx 45 and the trigger ruined all my pistols for me so i think I found my new 9mm thanks for making this

I’ve been looking for this pistol and seems like it’s rare. I want it just because it has the DA feature.
Wow I had no idea these existed, I need it in FDE
its nice firearm.im trying to complete the set
If they would just take this exact gun and give it that fnx 45 make over…FN, please hear us
Does this shoot similar to the fnx 45 tactical? I love that trigger and recoil and everything. Might want to buy this as well if similar or same
Men!!! behind the spring I can see a spider !!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
