380 ACP. Is more than adequate in S. Florida. No trouble getting Hornedy Critical Defense. No issues with my G42. Great review here on Hickok 45.

  13. SAL L on March 23, 2023 at 3:22 am

Why is it easy to pull left ??

  14. Luthier Vandros on March 23, 2023 at 3:22 am

For anyone watching this older video, Glock has revised the slide lock and spring for the 42. Other issues caused by limp wristing and riding the slide lock.

  17. Game Night with Jamiibo on March 23, 2023 at 3:28 am

My 42 fits in my font pocket. Can’t say that about my 17

  20. TacoGlocko on March 23, 2023 at 3:30 am

To be fair Hickok could pocket carry a glock 17

  21. ChimaKeys on March 23, 2023 at 3:31 am

I call mine my "girl gun" because of Glock’s ad campaign featuring a lady taking her’s to the range. In my work environment it was the perfect deep concealed weapon because the liberals I worked with liked knowing I could protect them but didn’t like seeing it.

  22. Kerry Downard on March 23, 2023 at 3:31 am

    Always love his reviews

  26. Joe dirt on March 23, 2023 at 3:36 am

…. Is that a Glock in your pocket or you just happy to see me lol

  27. Kyle Stokes on March 23, 2023 at 3:37 am

Use a heavier bullet . It’ll cycle better.

  28. Angel Navarro on March 23, 2023 at 3:37 am

    Handgun dam text prediction lol

  29. steve carter on March 23, 2023 at 3:38 am

I use the colt government pocketlite 380 as an alternative to the LCPmax. I have not tried the 42 yet but it looks good. I think the 380 will be fine for carry.

  30. Geeter Tweet on March 23, 2023 at 3:38 am

crap i literally just bough that Barnes ammo at cabala’s. Shoot.

  31. Jared Goins on March 23, 2023 at 3:38 am

With the Glock 42 I have only had feeding issues with Hornady Rounds Hollow points first feed with jam rack back it would clear no issues after…

  34. Ben G on March 23, 2023 at 3:42 am

I wish you people would mention what year your making the vid and the year and generation of the gun. Its 9/14/22 and I’ve shot all kinds of ammo with my new 42 I bougt last year and its all gone off without a hitch. +P is something I wont shoot in any 380 though. Thats just me. Thanks for the great narrative w/your vids, its very entertaining and informative. Never stop.

  35. De Juan on March 23, 2023 at 3:43 am

Tbh my Patna introduced me to this gun when it came out. I hadn’t been too long got me a gen 4 glock 40 mos and it was crazy because I fell in love with the 42 & he fell in love with my 40 , I miss my brother man LL STEVE 😔🙏🏾

  36. rebelray84 on March 23, 2023 at 3:44 am

From what I’ve gathered, the 42s tend to like hotter, heavier rounds. It looks to me that if the round is at least 90 grains and over 200 foot pounds it usually functions just fine.

  37. Paul Stapleton on March 23, 2023 at 3:47 am

My wife and daughter both have glock 42s and the only time we seem to have problems is when the muzzle velocity is below 954 fps, other wise it shoots every time.

  38. Klaus Baummann on March 23, 2023 at 3:47 am

My wife finally picked one up and she loves it. Perfect size and easy to handle.

  39. Neo Anderson on March 23, 2023 at 3:48 am

I really wish I would have watched this video before I purchased this crap ammo!!! TAC XPD, at least I only got one box to try it out… I am still kicking my own ass on this one though, it’s crap in my 42… damn it!!! Thanks for the excellent video, now I know what to buy and what to stay away from…. Thanks again

  40. c dalton on March 23, 2023 at 3:49 am

I have never liked Barnes ammo. Junk.

  41. Joe P on March 23, 2023 at 3:50 am

The 42 should have a 32 rd stick clip instead of the drum.

  42. Gewglesux on March 23, 2023 at 3:51 am

Must be a NY style Pizza pAN…Thems the worst kind

  43. Emmy on March 23, 2023 at 3:53 am

    16:04 – 16:17 lmao

  44. Daniel Ortiz on March 23, 2023 at 3:54 am

Honestly I ran different types of ammo through the g42 and have had no jams. Though I did have some that left a lot more gunk than others Tulammo is one dirty ammo 😂

  45. Peppi la MEU31 on March 23, 2023 at 3:54 am

8yrs later and .380 still going strong. It is COMICAL to me when people argue and scream how a .380 is weak and non-lethal, just like .22, even though .22 is used to kill 12’+ alligators. Yes with a rifle but still has some oomph behind it.

Shot placement and type of ammunition is going to make a big difference. I do hear more operational issues with the firearms chambered in .380 but I have not had any issues. .380 and .223 are the two calibers that I hear a lot about.

But I have never seen the Sam issue. They are incredibly lethal go back and see what happened to that guys bicep in the Rittenhouse video.

Every dew years I get on here and stir the pot. Since this forum is full of Savants, Mensa graduates, nuclear physicists, and super top secret squirrels!

  46. Adam Lewellen on March 23, 2023 at 3:54 am

Get the Vickers +2. Runs perfectly for me ..

  47. Matthew Price on March 23, 2023 at 3:55 am

Yo the 42s need a recall fr.

  48. Jason Campbell on March 23, 2023 at 3:56 am

Can you do a Glock 42 video with a contemporary Glock 42? I bet a lot of viewers would like to know if the modern day G-42s will be more reliable than the early pistols. I wonder if a modern made G-42 would shoot that Buffalo Bore and Barnes Tac XPD. Perhaps the manufacturer redesigned something after the initial introduction and it enhanced reliability with more ammo types. By the way, great videos, sir. – JC

  49. Nobody on March 23, 2023 at 3:58 am

It’s a very light firearm. Even though the 380 is mild it still needs a firm grip to cycle

  50. Doug Johnson on March 23, 2023 at 3:59 am

MagTec is the worst I have shot
