  14. Patron on August 22, 2022 at 8:10 pm

When did belts like that become popular? After the civil war?
I’m curious since I only found this video while looking up when ammo like that was used in the wild west.

  30. Joseph Yow on August 22, 2022 at 8:28 pm

I wish there were fewer cutaways for the sake of jokes. Maybe one could be enough? Otherwise, I like your videos very much. Good work!

  31. terrorcop101 on August 22, 2022 at 8:30 pm

    3:10 Uh what?!

  32. Max Belflower on August 22, 2022 at 8:30 pm

I’ve seen gun belts with home made holsters in old west type museums, was supprised you didn’t talk about those.

  33. Mike Franklin on August 22, 2022 at 8:31 pm

A canvas belt and loops helps keep your cartridges from turning green too. BTW, nickle plated cartridges were developed for modern Police who also carried their ammo in leather belt loops.

  34. Knight at the Crossroads on August 22, 2022 at 8:31 pm

…..and stop drinking my whiskey. ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฅƒ

  35. Skeeter dee on August 22, 2022 at 8:32 pm

    HEY ITS THIS jw DUUDE

  36. Cliff Childers on August 22, 2022 at 8:32 pm

The Bandolier dates back to the 16th century huh?!?!? Wut did they carry in them?!?!?!? The cartridge wasn’t invented until the 18th century! I’m confuzz’d!

  37. MindofMadness on August 22, 2022 at 8:35 pm

I don’t re-enact or whatever [[Wife does Civil War so that word comes to mind]] but I do carry my .357 on the property-snakes, neighbors dogs, wasps or some deadly tin can laying ready to pounch in thee weeds. I wear standard trouser belt but my gunbelt is a second belt looped thru on one side but hanging on the other-being short makes standatrd belt holsters a pain. Wife says it don’t look rite wearing two. Was two soething or is that a movie thing? Just makes it easier to shed the weapon and ammo without messing with belt and pants.

  38. Patrick McLane on August 22, 2022 at 8:37 pm

Iโ€™m getting a brand new gun belt. By Colt Farro leather. I canโ€™t wait. The manโ€™s craftsmanship has no equal!

  39. Sparkrain on August 22, 2022 at 8:38 pm

If you would have a belt out of canvas, what material would the holster be?

  40. Melissa Red on August 22, 2022 at 8:38 pm

Fantastic vid. I do wonder if Western gun belts and bandoliers could still be useful in the present day like hunters and local law enforcement use in someway.

  41. Mr. Snuffles on August 22, 2022 at 8:40 pm

Mr. Santee I have a question.
Is this gun belt one you own? If so could you please tell me where you got those .38 specials? 1:29

  42. C Irby on August 22, 2022 at 8:42 pm

Anyone know why John Wayne carried a longer than necessary cartridge halfway around his cartridge loops in the middle of his back? He does it in every western he’s been in.

  43. larry robinson on August 22, 2022 at 8:44 pm

If it fit andbcould hold your holster that’s about it. Fancy embossed rigs were rarely seen in cowtowns filled with ordinary cowhands..

  44. Bridget Benson Henna Bri on August 22, 2022 at 8:45 pm

im actually going to be making a holster kit soon for my repro amd this vid was super helpful

  45. Kassandra Odessa on August 22, 2022 at 8:46 pm

    What about 2 holster rigs?

  46. Pancho Pistola on August 22, 2022 at 8:50 pm

I love how it was us Mexicans that made the bandolier popular ๐Ÿ˜‚ I donโ€™t know that they needed it; Mexicans are just dramatic and by nature flamboyant . So I think it just added to the machismo ๐Ÿ˜‚. Glad to see they were kinda chunky back then too. I donโ€™t feel as bad about my belly .

  47. Paul Kash on August 22, 2022 at 8:50 pm

Hey Santee could you do one one on making gun belts
