H & R single shot 12g shotgun
I’ve been looking for an H&R single shot 12g for quite sometime now, good thing I decided to pass by my local pawn shop. Shotgun is in excellent condition. This will be my platform for a “survival shotgun ” build. CHECK MY OTHER VIDEOS FOR MY COMPLETED SURVIVAL SHOTGUN AND SHOOTING

Thanks !
I got mine at a pawn shop where I live for right at 100 bucks and it came with an Allen shell holder. Thing kicks like a mule but it’s a beauty. Light, easy trigger pull, aim is frickin great, and I especially love how fast it is to eject and reload in a matter of seconds. But like I said…the recoil is pretty bad. There was blood under the skin on my shoulder…. But I wouldn’t trade that little boom stick for nothing!
Just bought the same gun the day before you posted
Great buy! I bought mine from Gander Mountain for 110 with a free case and an Allen shell holder. They’re worth every penny and the only thing it’ll never need replaced is the Transfer Bar, which don’t break often.
Ang ganda
If you go forward with that home-made 410 adapter, make sure you have someone close to call 9-1-1 when you shoot it for the first time. But that’s a really nice original H&R scattergun worth preserving. You could pick up an extra barrel at a gun show pretty cheap. Get one with the end blown apart where someone put a slug through a full choke and you can get one for $10.00, easy. Cut off the extra barrel and keep the original barrel in original condition. That way, if you change the stocks out for some Choate stocks or something, as long as you don’t mess with the finish, you can easily switch it back to its original state for value retention. Again, nice gun. Happy trails, tight groups and safety first.
just got one for 75 bucks
If you decide to get more adapters, try MCA Sports. I’ve bought from them, and the longest time from putting my order in the mail, to getting the adapter, was 8 days for a special ordered adapter. That’s going from Alabama to Alaska and back.
Great video btw!
Re the 410 plumbing pipe adapter… umm… that pipe is not thick enough or made out of hardened steel !
Can any one tell me what material use for barrel and magazine.
Boi that is a 20 gauge dumbass
close the water dude… i almost pissed my self…!!!
Cutting to 18.5" may be a mistake….. "I did that ..at 19"."
The longer barrel makes hitting at longer ranges easier due to increased sighting plane or "eye to bead" distance. Those work very well with 26" to 32" barrel and the 36" long tom worked extremely well. Soon mine is going back to the factory for a new 32" barrel…..while they are still doing the accessory barrels. Soon the replacement or accessory barrel option will NO LONGER be available.
I have a receiver for sale $50 you pay for shipping.. no barrel no stock.. it’s in great condition..
These are Great cheap shotguns but one problem is the metal can rust very easy on these. Either keep the finish well oiled or do like I do is coat the metal parts with Old English black walnut furniture polish. This polish is a light wax compound That gives the metal a nice shine plus adds protection against moisture. I have the same shotgun in 20ga plus a 9mm adapter. I didn’t want the adapter ejecting so I ground a small portion of the edge of the adapter where the ejector is located. Now it doesn’t fly out when opened.Enjoy that shotgun. Thanks for the Vid 🙂
Just picked up the same gun for 99 dollars used but it’s the 20 gauge version got a 9 mm and 22 lr adapter for it
Got one of these for Christmas in the 80’s. Full choke, 26in barrel and $52+ tax out the Walmart door.

I have long wanted one of those in 20ga.
Hope you didn’t cut the barrel like all the other tools on here. But I’m sure you did. TOOL!
Great find!
Chiappa sells an 8 piece set of eight 8inch adapters and the pistol caliber ones are rifled. Great survival gun.
so they only like $100
I had one. It kicked like a mule!! Still love handis though.
It’s full choke or no
I just picked one up today for 98.00 out the door. At my local pawn shop.
12 Gauge "Home Defense" Single Shot Shotgun with Mods
H&R shotguns are great choice.A single shot is a great survival weapon.I like the adapters and will pick up a couple soon. Take a look at my shotgun, it may give you some more ideas. Be safe, Don
You going to put a sling on it? I’m trying to figure out how to put one on my single barrel shotgun.
it’s a decent looking gun. i like that gun.
If you get a chance, get a 12 ga also with adapters.
I got a 12 & 20 ga with adapters.
On my 12 ga I cut out a slot on the stock to put a mini kit tin in it.
Sad they stopped making it. Me and my son both have one in 12 ga. They are part of American. Just about every American outdoorsman started out with these amazing tools. I baught a 357 mag adaptor for mine. Thanks for sharing and Merry Xmas from Kentucky land between the lakes
I just got one for $80 just need to reblue it
I picked up one of these the other day. I’m going to film my project from start to finish.
Congratulations! Very nice shotgun. I like the case hardened finish too.
mine is sawed off at 18 1/2 inches and the overall length is 26 1/4
Dude you should fix your toilet leakage
I have had one for 30 years, and it looks as good today as it did when I got it. Its only carracter flaw, it just works, all the time, every time. and is formiddable when digesting fiocchi rifeled slugs.
sub back bro
Found mine last week at my life cal pawn shop, barrel already cut down. Purchased a clamp on high viz type sight from Amazon and a butt pad from ebay. The sight arrived and was installed, then I rattle can painted the gun with a grasslands pattern. Installed an elastic shell carrier, and still waiting for the butt pad. Will install a baggie sealed bic lighter in the stock. I am thinking about ordering a .410 adapter for it since I have .410 shells on hand. A good meat getter gun for sure. You have a good project gun! Good luck with it!
Wanna sell it?
What is the advantage of ejecting the adaptor ?Great video and a fan of the SB .
