Great tip, I recently got my first handgun scope and was disappointed in the f.o.v..

Rifles exist for a reason I don’t get it

pretty clever! My mount has a v channel so I can put the front sight on target and the just switch to the scope view

I have a Ruger Blackhawk Hunter which is also scoped. Being right handed but left-eye dominant, I learned through practice to shift my focus to my right eye when shooting through a scope. With my Ruger, this allows me to "sight" down the left side of the barrel with my left eye and as you demonstrated, shift my focus as my gun comes into line with the target. I practice and dry fire excessively (with an empty gun), raising, locating my target, and controlled trigger squeeze, over and over.

Can you not purchase (on a budget) a scope with a long eye relief so you can maintain regular handgun form and still get full FOV? Is there such a thing or does everybody just adapt to using rifle scopes? My eyes kind of suck and I want to put a scope on a .22 pellet pistol.
