Harrington & Richardson Drop Top .38 revolver
Harrington & Richardson Drop Top .38 revolver
This gun belonged to my great uncle that used to work for the railroad. The serial number put it as being made between 1905 and 1915. It’s in great condition and I just wanted to check it out, test fire it and post the video for anyone that might be interested.
is it safe to use modern ammo in these older guns?
I have my grandfathers .38 smith & wesson revolver. the family always called it the rail road pistol. He was a station agent for the L & N railroad and was required to have a weapon on the days the cash payroll came down the line. Being the depression, he could not afford to buy a gun, so his brother in law, a peace officer in Missouri sent him a pistol he had liberated from a thug. still got it. near mint condition. Circa 1912.
Dang, looks like she kicks a little bit.
lol i have the same pistol i won in a less than savory poker game… believe it or not my serial number is in the 16,xxx which i think places it in the 1895-1900 range….the trigger pull on these revolvers is enormous….very cool piece of weapons history
So nice vintage revolver
👍👍
Mine smokes too!
The action is referred to as a break-top, or top break, not drop top.

My grandfather had one of these when we cleared out his home. He was a railway police officer in the UK. Would this have been a police issued gun for railway police.
Nice Very Nice Revolver ❤️👍
