A focused radio beam would _not_ have unlimited ammo, even if connected to the power grid.

Energy is the reason everything, including ammo, is limited. You might argue that energy is cheap, and other ammo is more expensive by comparison; however, that only reveals the fact that energy costs are included in the production of every single product on Earth!

With free energy/unlimited energy, we would be able to reverse the process of firing a bullet — from remelting the metal casing to reversing the exothermic chemical reaction that makes gunpowder go, "bang" — leading to near-limitless ammo, because the amount of raw materials doesn’t change much during any physical or chemical reaction.

*Would ammo be unlimited with free energy?*
We’d have to use robots or androids to collect the spent materials, so that the most significant labor costs would be converted (directly) to energy usage. Those can be developed, once they become economical to use

The reason we don’t do that is energy. We don’t have a _cheap_ method for doing that stuff (i.e current methods are _energy intensive_, and energy is expensive).

The energy costs of recycling many goods is more expensive than using new materials. Sometimes, it’s the collection process which is too expensive, not the actual reconversion. Sometimes it’s both.

*What about the exothermic reaction, that converts mass into heat? Wouldn’t we run out of raw materials?*
Yes, some mass is converted to energy during an exothermic reaction; but remember, we’re talking about using unlimited energy as an input to the endothermic reversal process.

Just collect scraps and ash from your last battle, and reconstitute it. High school-level chemistry teaches how to undo reactions in principle.

*What if we lost some of the pieces and couldn’t recover them?*
Answer: Free energy +Robots = search harder; search longer. Admittedly, the time investment might become the most significant bottleneck at that point, but only after it became economical to collect the obviously available remains, like any shrapnel in plain view.

Bad ass ! FFS quadruple the budget for this sort of stuff immediately, unless of course you want your grandchildren to be speaking Chinese or praying 👳‍♂to imaginary sky daddies. 💪&🧠

How much dollars it can shot in 5mins?

  5. charles h on November 21, 2022 at 9:38 pm

Hate to be around when this is needed…

  6. Pos Moo on November 21, 2022 at 9:39 pm

These are actually terrible at defense

  7. Nevets on November 21, 2022 at 9:40 pm

Now make one that fires tank shells. Imagine the power! 🤔🧠💥

  8. Simon Low on November 21, 2022 at 9:40 pm

I always wonder what happen to those bullets that did not reach the target will it fall to the ground on someone head and causes injury?

  9. Van Dervan on November 21, 2022 at 9:41 pm

Just saw how it miserably failed to intercept any fast projectiles😂. So much for the “thwarting”..

  10. Singularity Raptor on November 21, 2022 at 9:42 pm

You lost all legitimacy with ARMA(video game) clip from the beginning.

A couple of those clips are from Arma 3 and a couple others aren’t the same gun they are a different defense gun by rhienmetall called the mantis

  14. Simon on November 21, 2022 at 9:45 pm

There is some footage of the German "Mantis" system

So no one is commenting on how for “the UK” they also highlighted the Republic of Ireland… which is very much NOT the UK. Disappointment at 3:34

    Unimaginably STUPID technology.

Reported for genuinely being actually shit.

  23. scottietoohotti on November 21, 2022 at 10:00 pm

And not one target hit throughout the whole video

  24. Some Random Guy on November 21, 2022 at 10:00 pm

What could go wrong with firing thousands of rounds into the air? Especially when a base is close to a city.

  25. David Stout on November 21, 2022 at 10:02 pm

I guess fuck all those buildings in the opening clip

  26. Ma❌imo on November 21, 2022 at 10:07 pm

.. at some point the ammunition runs out 😅
    .. And then it’s dark

  27. Favored on November 21, 2022 at 10:10 pm

Awesome. But what about critical infrastructures under swarm drone/AI robotic attack that don’t have a CRAM on site aka utility sites, water, power, national security installations etc?

  28. Johannez on November 21, 2022 at 10:10 pm

Arma III footage is stupid in this video…

  29. Louis Jones on November 21, 2022 at 10:11 pm

Send some of these to the Ukrainians

  30. Супрун Дмитро on November 21, 2022 at 10:11 pm

Looking forward for it in Ukraine to test in real war conditions

  31. Ken TV on November 21, 2022 at 10:12 pm

To all the retards out there
    1. The first footage isn’t real, it’s from a video game, the actual one hits the target a lot faster and more accurate
    2. The bullets explode after a certain distance in air, so no remain would hit the environment
    3. Planes and jets need to fly towards the firing target to fire. When they are targeted by these it forces them to pull up or pull into a direction where they cannot be offensive. It then is just a matter of time before they are shot down. And missile going into the protected area will be flying toward the CRAM, which will be stopped easily since it doesn’t change its course.

  32. another friend on November 21, 2022 at 10:13 pm

We need this as a drone to tag along fighter jets… end story

  33. Topsy Turvyy on November 21, 2022 at 10:13 pm

This is so good that the US had to give up on Afghanistan….It is not only the military might that wins wars, not even Alexander the Great who was a military and political genius…he understood the realities of such regions….

  34. DJ CANT TAME on November 21, 2022 at 10:15 pm

Ukraine needs this for the Iran drones

  35. Vivek Todi on November 21, 2022 at 10:16 pm

    If you’ve played UT2k4,
The Helios system is basically a step towards the Rail Gun.

  36. Megatron on November 21, 2022 at 10:17 pm

I would never want to come face to face with that shit 😢

  37. Milan Putnik on November 21, 2022 at 10:17 pm

Well…and then comes a hypersonic projectile, all red glowing and streaking trough the atmosphere at such an insane velocity with unspeakable amounts of both kinetic and potential energy it just dissolves all the incoming C-RAM rounds melting them at an instant just prior to any single one of them even making contact with its surface…Just a refreshing water sprinkle greeting the great racer as it approaches the inevitability.

  43. Rich Koziol on November 21, 2022 at 10:20 pm

Instead of spending money on amazing farm grown , vegetables and fruits, and stop lying to everyone about everything , they build this nonsense that nobody needs if we get rid of the idiots who manufacture wars and keeping society stupid , through media, pharmaceuticals and poisoning the water and food supply, sorry for rambling on we can’t let it upset us, that’s what they feed off.

  44. Billy Andrew on November 21, 2022 at 10:20 pm

Nowhere near fast enough to deal with hypersonic missiles, travelling at Mach25, which both Russia and China possess.
Russia offered to share the technology with US, but US refused the offer.
You can’t cure stupid, I guess.
    Smh.

  46. Luis Mendoza on November 21, 2022 at 10:20 pm

Wait… they said 6,000 rounds a minute?!?! That’s 100 rounds EVERY SECOND?!?! (check my math)….. why has engineering evolved so much when it comes to killing ourselves but not for anything else??

  47. Game Over Countdown on November 21, 2022 at 10:21 pm

The very definition of bad @55! 🤩

  48. Ron F on November 21, 2022 at 10:28 pm

I worked on CIWS in the Navy. It does NOT miss. Any object it fires upon are destroyed in less than 1 second. No need to continue firing as shown by AI.

  49. sJs78 on November 21, 2022 at 10:29 pm

Lol, give one to Ukraine, they’ll bolt it to the back of a toyota 4×4 and use it for anti infantry..🤷

  50. Anthony Parde on November 21, 2022 at 10:29 pm

Watching this minigun take down the latest Russian MiG is quite impressive. Keep up the great work ladies and gentlemen.
