    Excellent — thank you

Good demonstration. I have a Kershaw knife where the spring doesn’t really "expell" the blade anymore, so I was going to take it apart to see what I can do to fix it. I figured there was some sort of wound up torsion-type spring, but now I know what to expect inside. Good point about opening the blade prior to disassembly.

Thanx Holly!!…ah, so the disassembly secret is to open the blade first!!…ill admit, ive ruined a couple of asst open knives (they had issues), and i think the OTF mechanics are much easier to deal with. BUT NOW IM MORE CONFIDENT!!…Girls with knives are the best!!…thanks Grindies…

Spring assisted knives fall under the category of pocket knives and are a very common type of knives. These knives are called this because they work on a spring mechanism.

Exactly what i was looking for when I searched for it. Well done on the video. Now I only need to find a small enough torx to undo the screx in the handle so I can fix my knife 😛

That’s why those knives are so expensive. Only 14 people on Earth who can assemble them quickly. Now 15.

What if I just removed the spring. And just use the knife without it.

  15. thatraymond on January 22, 2023 at 1:44 am

Thanks, I always wondered how these worked!

  16. Gaston Shutters on January 22, 2023 at 1:47 am

I actually enjoyed this candid take apart. Don’t worry. A coupe of more disassemblies and you’ll be good to go.

  17. Roy Bane on January 22, 2023 at 1:51 am

It locks over center. Spring holds open and closed.

You are one the best companies I know, because you focus on one thing to sell, and you do it extremely well. Like, for example, the first time I saw a lot of knives was from Grindworx.Very reliable knives as well. I’ve been using a 3.5 inch balisong for about a year or two, and it still functions great. I’m trying to get the 2.75 stilleto but it keeps going out of stock.

Nothing like plenty of lubrication to keep things moving smooth.

Is ball bearing assisted knife same as spring assisted knife?

  30. Alice Mark on January 22, 2023 at 2:07 am

Spring assisted knives are the knives with a spring that assists in blade deployment. These knives are known as the best everyday carry knives. There are some key features of these knives.
