Been looking for a rig like the one Clint is wearing with the drop leg holster and the molle pouches for spare mags. Where can I get one?

  2. Red Leaf Pursuit Outdoors on October 29, 2021 at 4:32 pm

Getting ready to throw some upgrades on Ron a Smith & Wesson M&P15 I’ve had for a while and I’m going to try just running irons on it, it’s a classic look!

  3. brad spriggs on October 29, 2021 at 4:32 pm

Asking if you need irons on you guns, is liking asking if you like your thumbs

  4. Moises Castaneda on October 29, 2021 at 4:33 pm

You should mention the price on guns you show

  5. patr10t762 on October 29, 2021 at 4:34 pm

Clint, an idea for content. You and Matt try to stump each other with unfamiliar systems. If that wont work maybe take an employee out with little or o experiece to operate different systems to see what is intuitive.

I use optics on my 350 legend, 6.5 grendel and 450 bushmaster uppers but my 16" 5.56 upper is iron sights only. My choice is the Meprolight FRBS night sights. I don’t have a problem hitting a man sized target at 300 yards with them. There rear aperture is the right size for me and the front post is thin enough to be usable at longer distance. They took the time to make sure the tritium in the front sight is brighter then the rear sight which I like.

  7. Daniel Ortiz on October 29, 2021 at 4:35 pm

What optics to you have on your colt ?

  8. Michael Ysais on October 29, 2021 at 4:39 pm

I’ve shooting since I was 7 or 8y/o, so I grew up using iron sights…. Got into red dots etc about 4-5 years ago getting them down finally (I work a lot). Now getting into scopes. Now to my point, optics are bad ass and are great but I’m becoming more of a Doomsday prepper kind of person and still think you should always learn iron sights. If shit hits the fan, batteries etc won’t be a easy thing to come across. I’m a worse case scenario but hop for the best kind of guy.

  9. Jacob Scotti on October 29, 2021 at 4:41 pm

    As a poor: thank you

  10. Baron von Baldypants on October 29, 2021 at 4:42 pm

red dots rule, especially for teaching new shooter but BUIS are essential on any defensive rifle.

  11. Kelly Shea on October 29, 2021 at 4:43 pm

I prefer iron sights because they dont require batteries

  12. John Neill on October 29, 2021 at 4:44 pm

A 20 year marine who never was trained with the ACOG telling us about irons ….the irony …

  13. UpperBelowAverage on October 29, 2021 at 4:44 pm

Not only do I run back up iron sights, but I run a back up iron sling, iron carrier and iron eye pro!

  14. Juice Squad on October 29, 2021 at 4:46 pm

New to the m4 ar15 it’s still getting built delton heavy profile barrel upper reciver and 80 arms lower reciver and parts kit

  15. Gary Johns on October 29, 2021 at 4:48 pm

It may not be your gun with optics you have to defend with.

  16. Lyeon on October 29, 2021 at 4:49 pm

What acog are you running and when you detach it do you have to re-zero it?

  17. Todd K on October 29, 2021 at 4:56 pm

I love shooting with iron sights. My M16 clone rifle with the carry handle and the fixed front sight/gas block is one of my favorite rifles to shoot. Irons are the most reliable sighting system (fixed steel) vs any optic. Only way a solid iron sight will fail is if it gets shot off or someone takes a hammer to the thing.

  18. brad spriggs on October 29, 2021 at 4:56 pm

Practice option of both optics and irons .. do a drill where the optics goes down remove it and flip sights and acquire the target … I also have offsets on my ar so it that ready to get option …

  19. john McKinney on October 29, 2021 at 4:57 pm

I have dd fixed on my 10.5 300blk.

  20. Alejandro Rubalcava on October 29, 2021 at 4:59 pm

Any tips for right handed people but left eye dominant if that makes any sense

  21. Daven Moralez on October 29, 2021 at 5:00 pm

I wish they made buckhorn style irons/basic gun irons for ar’s can’t stand peep sights but this was helpful

  22. Nicholas Campbell on October 29, 2021 at 5:01 pm

Iron sights was the first things I bought for my first AR. If you can’t shoot with just iron then you shouldn’t be shooting. And yes I get it the extreme out liers of partly blind folk who can’t see irons.

  23. Lolerpops on October 29, 2021 at 5:04 pm

Put the stock m16 barrel and take off that ranger and put on the commando foregrip 🙄

  24. bmxdude1337 on October 29, 2021 at 5:08 pm

Everyone who owns a firearm must know how to shoot with iron sights

  25. Werner Mena on October 29, 2021 at 5:08 pm

Go to the range and dry fire 😂

  26. Ray W on October 29, 2021 at 5:09 pm

Irons were great 15 years ago, age is a fickle bitch…

  27. Paul Hughes on October 29, 2021 at 5:10 pm

My local range has been going through a major remodel and as soon as it opens hopefully in March 2021 I’m going to start using my iron sights.

  28. J B on October 29, 2021 at 5:10 pm

What buttstock was that on the first couple seconds???

  29. Werner Mena on October 29, 2021 at 5:12 pm

Go to the range and dry fire 😂

  30. Stoetz on October 29, 2021 at 5:12 pm

Clint. What stock is it that?

  31. Dylan Ross on October 29, 2021 at 5:14 pm

Im just saying when bullets are being shot at you, the red dot, prism, or holographic is essential imho.
Not that Irons dont get the job done. You absolutely should have BUIS. its a no brainer. especially getting into an era where technical warfare will be the new norm.

  32. Free State Militia on October 29, 2021 at 5:14 pm

I was trained with iron sights. The old M16A2!

  33. Ohio Elevation on October 29, 2021 at 5:15 pm

I started on irons. Played with all types of optics on my go to rifle. I went back to iron sights with a front night sight. It’s lighter, less likely to break or get knocked off zero. I don’t need to worry about batteries, glass clarity, peripheral, rain, fog etc.

Don’t get me wrong, there are benefits to optics, but the simplicity and durability of iron sights outweighs those benefits for me.

  34. The Cop Family on October 29, 2021 at 5:15 pm

Where can I find that battle belt set up? Tried looking on your website.. nowhere to be found

  35. abel leu on October 29, 2021 at 5:16 pm

How does everyone handle that “train like you fight” dilemma when putting head to head with “don’t drink and handle guns”?

  36. Mizar on October 29, 2021 at 5:19 pm

How can I zero the sights with this ammo shortage? It will cost me like 50$ just to zero them.

  37. CivicsR2Cool on October 29, 2021 at 5:22 pm

I love and prefer irons but positive identification isn’t an option with them. I hated having to use binos to Id targets rather than just using my optic on the rifle.

  38. Matthew Mahoney on October 29, 2021 at 5:22 pm

    Can’t afford to practice lol

  39. feldweible on October 29, 2021 at 5:23 pm

I just have to smile whenever someone blames their optics being the reason for them shooting so poorly. 13 years in the Corps, 13 expert badges. Semper Fi!

  40. Jonathan Mitsuda on October 29, 2021 at 5:23 pm

Before I got my M1, I was honestly a pretty shit shooter. After using it for a bit, getting used to irons and basic fundamentals made me such a better shooter and frankly they’re a lot of fun

  41. Patrick Ruyak on October 29, 2021 at 5:24 pm

Something to remember when adjusting irons. FoRs. Front:opposite Rear:same

  42. Soplet on October 29, 2021 at 5:24 pm

Yep, that’s why companies sell flip iron sights. If you want to use a backup solution, you need to know how to use it.

  43. CP THE AVERAGE PLINKER on October 29, 2021 at 5:26 pm

I mean I love this channel but personally I think you should stick to selling guns not trying to teach people stuff. Sorry I’m honest

  44. Arthur Fleck on October 29, 2021 at 5:27 pm

If you can’t accurately shoot with iron sights, you can’t shoot!

  45. Gery Bastiani on October 29, 2021 at 5:27 pm

When I was in the Seabees we would shoot and qualify with the M16 at 200 yds with the iron sights. Since then I go to the range with my M1A and practice with both the iron sights and a scope out too 200 yds that is the max at this range

  46. Joshua Gabaldon on October 29, 2021 at 5:28 pm

Its not about durability. Through my several years working for county, federal and city law enforcement I’ve broken both optics and metal iron sights. Its more just about two is one, one is none…

  47. Mad Magyar on October 29, 2021 at 5:28 pm

I remember when Classic Firearms was a barebones basic site and had a Scotsman as their logo

  48. Anthony Martinez Jr on October 29, 2021 at 5:29 pm

I think if your going to learn how to shoot you need to learn with Irons first to truly understand the fundamentals of sight picture and aight alignment

  49. Cameron Munson on October 29, 2021 at 5:29 pm

Using the old cqb offset "offset" putting the front sight base on the top of the ghost ring

  50. T Moss on October 29, 2021 at 5:30 pm

Went back to the basics also to include milspec trigger, scope red dots all gone, back to visual purple also. Become proficient with the basics and you won’t need the rest, rifle is much lighter and more reliable this way in my opinion, it’s what they were designed for. Just a side note, served from 82 to 90, rucksack/gear weighed approximately 45 to 60 pounds, with flak vest and helmet it was different, but we ditched that stuff in the field also, point being modern military caries way to much weight. If you were a 60 gunner it only came in at 23 pounds, medium packs with no rack system, less injuries and less hungry at the end of the day, so yeah, back to basics, no more movie/tv set ups on my rifle. Good video!
