Today, we do not make a review but instead take a look at Marlin Firearms that seems to make its comeback. Who likes lever action guns knows the name Marlin and is pleased to know that this manufacturer might soon be back in the game.
The parent company of Marlin was in financial troubles. This led to Marlin itself ceasing the production of rifles in August 2020. What looked like the end of this great company, might have instead been a new chance. Ruger bought it for a little over $28 million in September 2020. This saved Marlin from the bankruptcy of Remington Outdoor.

Couldn’t be happier as I’m also a big fan Ruger.
But my absolut faveorite is my winchester 4590
Wow I had no idea Marlin partnered with ruger or was purchased by ruger.
It makes sense now I understand why ruger is coming out with their own Liver action
I like my lever action rifles. I have Winchester, Henry, Browning, and Marlins. I love them all. Majority of what I own is Ruger so Ruger buying Marlin made me happy.

.35 rem should hands down be the most used lever caliber. I don’t understand why it isn’t.

Shame Ruger had not purchased Winchester. But I am quite pleased that they have Marlin. BRING BACK THE 39!!!
Investment cast Marlins will be something different. Ruger is really good with investment casting so the up coming Marlins should be quite interesting indeed.
If Ruger adds some of the wood they had on the No 1’s and Red Labels on maybe a Marlin collectors edition I am interested.
Now if we can only get Savage to recreate the 99’s . Although they already said the production costs would be too high.
Shame really.
IF Ruger produces a .444 Marlin AND manages to persuade at least one of the major ammo manufactures to load for the .444 Marlin (in the 260 to 300grn JSP range) I MIGHT be in the market for a a new, Ruger produced, Marlin 336 in .444 Marlin….Otherwise I’ll stick with my original Marlin in .444 Marlin. Of course the same can be said for the excellent .35 Remington….We shall see I suppose.

The biggest turn off for me is paying $900-$1000 for a lever action
We live in CT where the State is trying to take away our 2nd Amendment so I use my 22caliber Quest Nite Ops 1100FTPS Air Rifle or people can go on Air Gun Depot and get Big bore Air Rifles
This would be a great update if we could get one in .460 S&W, to be able to use .454 Casulll, and 45 Colt. That I would buy and buy fast.

In the 1970’s, Ruger sold a semi-auto carbine in .44 magnum. I wish they would bring that back. It looked like a bigger 10/22.
Updated lever actions would kill starting 450.00 for basic model. Give people a chance to grow into their guns….adding tactical options as well as accuracy and weight and speed options.

The President of Ruger was on gun talk the other day and they’re are looking to release the first one’s late in December. I’m a big Henry and any other lever action I can buy. My favorite Marlin is the 1895 45-70 cowboy, it’s 9+1 and that’s a whole lot of firepower. Back in 1976 at the age of 19 I met Chuck Conner’s the rifleman and we spent an hour and a half talking. He didn’t know me from Adam and he couldn’t have been nicer. Sincerely Ruger Rich

I would love it if they came back out with the Handi Rifle single shot rifle series again in calibers in 44 magnum, 357 magnum 30-30 45/70 Gov. and so on
Don’t forget the rifles are made in America so they aren’t going to be $400. We either support American companies or watch our manufacturing jobs go to China. Choice is easy for me. I just save a few extra months and buy it a little bit later than I may have wanted.
I own a few of the older Marlins and they’re great rifles. Hopefully, Ruger will bring back the quality and keep the Marlin name alive.
I’ve been waiting for this too ! but got a Ruger go wild 308 last winter as couldn’t find a 3030 .
Aren’t they stopping micro grooving in barrels, which is the reason people bought Marlins?
