Korth PRS Automatic Pistol: German Quality (And Price!)

Korth PRS Automatic Pistol: German Quality (And Price!)

Korth is a boutique firearms manufacturer in Germany generally known for their very fine and very expensive revolvers. In 2015, they decided to introduce an automatic pistol as well, which they called the PRS. It is a combination of a 1911 frame and a roller-delayed, fixed barrel slide assembly. As one would expect from their revolvers, the fit and finish quality is magnificent…and the price reflects that.

You should make a video about their "Ranger" revolvers. Pieces of art, that’s what they are.

  2. Sukhjinder Singh on May 1, 2023 at 3:50 am

Its magazine capacity is to be 15 round

  3. Mac Cast on May 1, 2023 at 3:51 am

It’s like a cross breed between a glock slide (eww) and a 2011 frame

  4. GunGirl1997 on May 1, 2023 at 3:54 am

Absolutely stunning pistol. Work of art

  5. Doug Botimer on May 1, 2023 at 3:54 am

We can over engineer Browning’s design so that it is 0.0001% more reliable, under idea conditions, and sell it for 1000% more. Brilliant…

I’d say this is like one of these watches etc that will actually increase in value over time. So its a good luxury item and investment if you have the wealth.

  7. Carl Newman on May 1, 2023 at 3:57 am

What a beautiful piece of engineering, it looks exquisite.

  8. The No Neck People Representative on May 1, 2023 at 3:59 am

I like it but I’d need to see an InRange Mud Test before I commit.

  9. Robert Caccavalla on May 1, 2023 at 4:02 am

Too bad it was a colossal failure. With all the fanfare and proof marking, it turned out to be junk. But what can you expect for 20,000.

  10. Joe on May 1, 2023 at 4:04 am

I bet you an extra mag cost $200

  11. Richard Nalbandian on May 1, 2023 at 4:04 am

    Excellent engineering

    Perfekt pistol, korth, bravo.

  13. James Neal on May 1, 2023 at 4:04 am

This seems like the gun equivalent of a Rolex, doesn’t tell time that much better but it has exquisite craftsmanship.

8:50 Ian contain himself. Lmfao. Edit: Volume on.

  15. Younes on May 1, 2023 at 4:05 am

I love this gun! Slick and deadly.. I’m no psycho but I’ve always been fascinated by well manufactured firearms. I have no access to firearms (I’m Tunisian) but I have fired rifles (hunting).. Hold a 9mm Beretta once lol

    Mafia boss gun

  17. Martoon on May 1, 2023 at 4:09 am

What attracts me to guns is not shooting them per se. It’s the beauty of the engineering and the mechanical complexity that man has put his mind to, and succeeded in implementing. To say a lethal weapon is beautiful is something of an oxymoron, but one can still appreciate the fabrication excellence that makers put into their products. I know almost nothing about Korth, but one can see where the money went…

I shall vote for chapter 2 i.e. ammunition made by Korth to Korth pistol. why no one cares about hand made premium grade rounds for top tier pistol.

  21. Bro Noun on May 1, 2023 at 4:12 am

    Boutique 911 . ? Id say no
Its a swiss watch that hurls metal in very straight lines
    Obviously made in pieces

  22. f38stingray on May 1, 2023 at 4:12 am

Ian, did you ever come across a Hogue Avenger? It was a similar 1911 conversion kit with a fixed barrel, but instead of roller-delayed blowback, it was lever-delayed. An early 2000s product that I think has become a "Forgotten Weapon!"

  23. NaNiBy on May 1, 2023 at 4:13 am

Can someone explain to me why magazine is ejecting like that?

Other Guns: "Never point the muzzle at something you don’t wish to destroy."
Korth: "Same, but for the magazine well also."

  28. CodA bOi on May 1, 2023 at 4:24 am

I live in a place where you can’t even own a gun and occasionally this pistol pops into my head, and I get sad that I can never feel, let alone own a gun like this. It’s not about it being a gun, it’s that it seems like peak craftsmanship. I imagine shooting this thing should be reserved for special occasions, like a super expensive fine wine or champagne. It’s there just appreciate how well made it is, and I respect that.

  29. The Wendigo Ryze on May 1, 2023 at 4:25 am

While I get buying pointless fancy things because they’re expensive… i still have no respect for people who do so because why would i buy a luxery SUV when all i need is my truck? I can justify the price of a $5000 pistol if i’m buying a Colt SAA from the 1890s but not a modern made pistol that i could buy something more practical for a 3rd of the price

  30. Don Hitt on May 1, 2023 at 4:26 am

I’m alittle late on this post…
    But it’s an expensive 1911/glock.

  31. Ngọc Lê on May 1, 2023 at 4:26 am

The fitting of this gun is so satisfied to watch

  32. Sukhjinder Singh on May 1, 2023 at 4:28 am

It should be double stack with 15 round capacity and barrel should 5"

  33. Youtube person on May 1, 2023 at 4:29 am

Why does it have a glock rear sight 😔

  34. Bristol Fashion on May 1, 2023 at 4:31 am

Although we’re used to the presenter’s careful, accurate and easy-to-understand explanation / descriptions of the guns he shows us, you’ll have to look through a fair few of his collection before you come across a phrase as chucklesome as this at 1:53… ! Thanks, Ian 🙂

  35. Darklanov on May 1, 2023 at 4:32 am

If I ever get my hands on it, is it safe to carry it cocked and locked like the 1911?

  36. Jonathan Jones on May 1, 2023 at 4:34 am

A wonderful amalgamation of classic American recipe styling with some German formula that being said what comes to mind when I look at this pistol folks is Wolfenstein what would have happened to our beloved 1911 had the Germans actually won World War Two or one perhaps not the first world war.

But I could see Captain J blaskowitz killing some Nazis and Wolfenstein the New Order or The New Colossus with this handgun roller lock the Germans have always preferred their roller lock just like we Americans prefer our blowback action however informing function this pistol is most likely Superior to our beloved system employed by John Moses Browning, I will however point out in sir if you read this comment regardless of those Teutonic gods of Germanic steel and blood Simplicity and wartime is a godsend however this thing is made I guarantee you it is a laborious process down to the meticulous finish kind of like the king tigers to expensive to costly why build 500 when you could have 50,000 made in the USA will always carry the day.

That being said I love this pistol I would love to shoot one probably would get it in the five inch length barrel length just to have as a companion to my 1911 of what if and I don’t know if I have something special but my auto ordinance 1911 I have two of them they both spit the magazine out just like this thing does and I’ve never changed that part of the mechanism on either one of mine so I don’t know if it’s a new thing or if it’s a gimmick but it happens

  37. Moto Rosso on May 1, 2023 at 4:35 am

    Mechanical artwork, pure and simple.

  38. titus37 on May 1, 2023 at 4:38 am

This makes me wonder why the world decided to modernize 1911 instead of this

  39. Perspective Renewed on May 1, 2023 at 4:38 am

    That is one beautiful pistol

  40. Ivan Hećimović on May 1, 2023 at 4:40 am

This is an old video, but since I have a lot of fresh experience with the Korth pistol, I think it’s okay to share the story and my fascination. So, in my country, Croatia, only public figures (politicians, judges, celebrities) and entrepreneurs whose wealth exceeds the legally prescribed threshold of 4 million euros can get a license to carry firearms for everyday self-defense purposes. Because the state considers that only these people are at risk because someone could be jealous of them enough to try to harm them. The director of the pharmaceutical company where I am the purchasing manager recently crossed that threshold and decided to buy a Korth 1911. As part of a team building, he decided to take us managers to the shooting range where he showed us his new Korth. Most of my colleagues were horrified because that gun costs more than our six months’ salary, but I, on the other hand, remained in love with the indescribable quality and the very feel of that Korth. I am infatuated and mesmerized by him to the point where I have watched every video, read every blog I could find on the internet. bought an airsoft replica and made it one of your life goals to one day own such a piece of mechanical art.

  47. schlc77 on May 1, 2023 at 4:44 am

Ian, the one thing I wish you would have covered is whether or not this pistol has a fluted chamber like so many other delayed blow pack European firearms?

  48. Wilbur Seymore on May 1, 2023 at 4:45 am

I would just like to have one for looking at, because it’s engineering poetry made manifest.
