  7. Duckdown433 on November 4, 2021 at 5:50 pm

    Luger is better

  8. Christopher Poe on November 4, 2021 at 5:50 pm

I have both Luger and 1911 from WW2. Both guns were jamming up like the Luger and I knew what it was. My grandfather inlaw had them stored away with the magazine full; it weakens the spring and doesn’t chamber properly.

No comparison to the Soviet pistol???

  12. J C Gardner on November 4, 2021 at 5:55 pm

Note in WWII most German officers preferred the Browning P35 "hi power" to either the P08 or the Walther P38

Very nice, detailed and professional comparison. Well thank you.

I see no point or purpose for the Luger other than to show it off to your pals

  16. Dejan Petrović on November 4, 2021 at 6:00 pm

P08 is not manufacturing anymore for obvious reasons. Unfortunately.

  17. Lord Potsmoke on November 4, 2021 at 6:01 pm

  19. Rush More on November 4, 2021 at 6:02 pm

The P8 was infamous for jamming, even when new. Especially in the field.

  20. Bill Scannell on November 4, 2021 at 6:04 pm

The Luger is a classic, but what an odd design…

  21. zach Graybill on November 4, 2021 at 6:07 pm

hey is the luger make them again

  22. Tucsonan Dude on November 4, 2021 at 6:09 pm

I had an old worn out DWM Luger and it never jammed. It was 100 years old and still fairly accurate even with a "frosty" barrel.

  23. Michael Maston on November 4, 2021 at 6:10 pm

I have the CO2 versions of those pistols (blowback action and field strippable).

  24. Matt. B on November 4, 2021 at 6:10 pm

Been watching for yrs and never realized I wasn’t subbed. Well I am now lol

  25. bugie saputra on November 4, 2021 at 6:11 pm

Po8 had 3 different variant of barrel
This is the shortest,it’s a medium and long, isnt?
Both is different to compare, necause different calliber, both is iconic

  26. Nik Drown on November 4, 2021 at 6:12 pm

1911 is just sexy as all hell. I can never get enough of looking at it.

  27. Guy Debacker on November 4, 2021 at 6:12 pm

Luger v 1911 , the luger had a special tool in the holster to load the magazine, thanks for the nice video’s

  28. Sosa Glock on November 4, 2021 at 6:13 pm

Lol i know if they from ww2 they dirty dirty…

  29. Ziptie Jedi on November 4, 2021 at 6:13 pm

Until I can blow up a Tiger tank with the Luger P08 I’ll stick with my 1911 lol. Seriously though the Luger is a cool looking gun and I would love to own one. I still think the 1911 is a good looking gun even at today’s standards.

  30. rone dee on November 4, 2021 at 6:13 pm

Walther P38 vs 1911 would be a better comparison.

  31. Christian Greaves on November 4, 2021 at 6:14 pm

Lugers are great but I’ve heard they have a hard time cycling modern ammo.

  32. Rıdvan ÇAKMAK on November 4, 2021 at 6:14 pm

For Luger you used wrong amo For sure

  38. jonn productions on November 4, 2021 at 6:25 pm

I think luger p08 is better than 1911

  39. Stefan Wolters on November 4, 2021 at 6:27 pm

I own a DWM 08 build 1914, it is complete with spare mag, holster and tool and it shoots well with the Winchester 9mm subsonic. And I own a Colt 1911 A1 from the early 70s. As a german I love my 08, but I shoot the 1911 far more often. And I EVER prefer ’45!

  40. Alan bud on November 4, 2021 at 6:28 pm

I realize I am a year late, but if your
Mag has a button, use an old electrical plug (US) put the prongs on either side of the magazine and it is easy to push down to load

    Hi I love your videos

  42. Jonathan Jollimore on November 4, 2021 at 6:30 pm

Luger was pretty much the ultimate war time trophy morbid yes but if yea pull one of a dead SS officer yea might not feel too bad about it

  43. Lightning Driver on November 4, 2021 at 6:32 pm

I watched a video not long ago about the complete take apart of a Luger. Way, way too much machining and complexity.

My wife’s grandfather was in France, Germany, and at the Battle of the Buldge.
He brought back a Luger and a Walther PPK which he took off of two different officers. This particular Luger was clearly a precision made weapon, made before the height of the war. The tolerances are indeed very close. It’s def a really comfortable weapon to hold, and super accurate to shoot. The Walther was surprisingly accurate to shoot and wasn’t at all picky about ammo. I really do like the way the 1911 feels though. I know I’d def rather have a .45 than a 9mm or smaller in a personal defense weapon. It’s hard to conceive of a time when the US military used a .38 special as a sidearm. I’m sorry to say what happened to the captured German weapons my wife’s family had. If I could go back in time, I’d educate my mother-in-law about financial predators. She trusted someone who she should never have given the time of day to. What a shame. I did my best to warn her but it just wasn’t enough.

  46. bradyspace on November 4, 2021 at 6:36 pm

Not sure the logic on the luger but perhaps the idea was functionality in close combat, like that of revolvers. The slide can never be out of battery in a fight. That slide up makes it very clear when the slide is open and empty.

  47. Felix M. Wolff on November 4, 2021 at 6:37 pm

I was impressed how well the 1911 feels even compared to modern guns.

  48. Rolan Shun on November 4, 2021 at 6:42 pm

    Ze Germans are good engineers.

1911 has always been my favorite pistol for some reason
