If you are looking for an awesome little shotgun that is incredibly capable, check out the Mossberg Bantam 20 Gauge…

I got the shotgun as a Christmas present for my oldest son, Jatta, in 2019. I got it through Shooting Surplus who happens to offer it as a combo. With both the 22″ vent rib barrel and interchangeable chokes, as well as a 24″ rifled slug barrel.

We have had a lot of fun with the shotgun. From shooting sporting clays, to hunting and even doing some shooting under night vision. At one point I put the Scalarworks RMR mount on it which was pretty cool.

And, since I can’t stand blued guns for actual use, because of rust… My son chose a color scheme and design to have Cerakoted onto his shotgun. The Gun Painter, a local shop, did an awesome job with it.

I like how you are teaching your sons shooting backwards "now that you can handle a tricked out AR15, we move onto the 20 gauge pump-action".

Always a pleasure to see kids being raised right!!

I am 55. My first shotgun at 12 or so was a Revelation (Mossberg 500) in 20 gauge. I have since passed that shotgun to my son. It was my favorite shotgun and will always be. 20 gauge is no slouch. I could take a squirrel at 50 yards with no difficulty. I have pumps and semi-autos but a pump shotgun will probably always be my favorite.

    Nice job Jatta!! (And Ivan!)
Keep fighting!! (And shooting, and all the other stuff too!) Winning will come with time and practice!!

Before you put your next DTOM on a gun (or anything else) tell us about the iconic history of that statement, flag, etc.
With your dads permission, I’ll hook you up w/ a cool patch (or two)!
Shout it out in the vid so I don’t miss it!!

I’ve had the same shotgun for nearly 20 years. Been an awesome shotgun. Took 100s of squirrels rabbits and varmints with it.

I find it really funny that he chose DTOM snake for reasons other than tyrannical government. I’m sure he’ll grow up and gain more reasons to keep that design.

What a wonderful gift! I’ve raised my sons and daughter on Mossberg shotguns and am teaching my wife on how to shoot one. We’re fond of hikes with guns, too. I noticed he was shooting skeet with a red dot, I’ll have to give that a try.

20 Gauge = Pointless 12 Gauge is easier to find, has A more abundant variety of ammo, usually cheaper, and dumps more energy on target.
