Desert Storm, saddest day had turn in my 1911 for an M-9, also had a Browning Hi Power that I felt was more the right size of a 9mm, bought a Marine Ka-Bar. Was an MP but never got the trip to the sand box, stayed at Ft Hood whole war.

I am still a baretta fan boy. But because of the slide problem I decided to go with a grison M9 made in turkey. That solved the decocker problem. Along with slide

it probably depends on training doctrine, as we were encouraged to use pistols for room clearing in the 70s coz the FAL is so long & cumbersome all so you could suppress a pistol. Got to use the Browning HP & Cz 75.

You teach the G19 but won’t talk about it. Hmmm.

The magazine disconnect in the hi power is quite easy to remove. Great video. I love and own all these guns. Given these choices though, I’m probably going 226. Love your videos and presentation. Thank you for your service. You’re a real life American badass.

The first time I seen a M9 in the wild was with a SEAL PLT on float circa 87-88. Of course, all us Marines wanted to finger f#*k one since we know at some point they were headed to the fleet. That was also the first time I heard about the frame cracking apart and ripping some frog’s face off ( sea stories tend to be embellished with each telling). After awhile I tended to think the M9 frame story was an urban myth and after these many years finally heard from someone that actually knew the guy it happened to. Cheers!

  20. Dan Widger on March 12, 2023 at 3:03 am

my (Army) first pistol was the 1911, then the M9, and M11. after I retired, I got an M17 Sig. I think the M17/ M18 is the best military pistol ever.

    Awesome video man!

  25. Roderick Arnold on March 12, 2023 at 3:13 am

The Beretta "G" models came about because of your same complaint from others about inadvertently switching to safe. It’s funny that you guys moved on to another gun, and outfits around the world simply asked Beretta for a decocker-only switch.

Buying hand guns can be addicting I justified buying a hand gun that I could Deer hunt with so I bought a S.W ,327 TRR8 Performance expensive shoots smooth .Then I said ok lets buy a Glock I ended up buying most of the family except one S.W, M.P I have been slacking no range shooting for a while . Great videos it’s getting me thinking about shooting and what to buy next ?

  30. Craigx71 on March 12, 2023 at 3:18 am

Love all of those…. i edc and shoot ipsc with a Briwning for over 30 years, never had issues (took the mag saftey out). Iv never been a fan of glock- the 3 safeties are its only good points in my experience.

The Browning High Power was also carried concealed (as a primary) by covert UK forces as late as 1988 in Operation Flavius, which was more of an assassination/SWAT style operation than a CoD style military operation where some IRA members were killed in Gibraltar. Lots of history with the High Power. I personally wouldn’t mind a Girsan P35 clone. Good price and come with a few different colors and grips.

Coch and Dorr are probably the coolest, most professional presenters on YT.

  41. justin tyme on March 12, 2023 at 3:27 am

I don’t think you’re going to see a difference in stopping power until it’s a difference of

    .22 to 9mm

    9mm to 357

    357 to 44mag

And lastly 44 mag to 500mag

    (Edit: i forgot about 10mm. So, 9mm to 10mm and 10mm to 357)

  42. Gen3 Kali on March 12, 2023 at 3:28 am

Love my Sig P229 in .357. I wore the first one out, it was 1st gen, then was issued the updated version – never had any issues with it. Then when I got out I bought the P229SAS model…absolutely love it.

  44. moladibari0482 on March 12, 2023 at 3:30 am

The 92 and the high power are the most reliable

  45. Ralph Grammont on March 12, 2023 at 3:31 am

Only problem with the story is the Beretta slide doesn’t come on or off from the rear it goes on and off from the front and if it failed like that it would just fly off to the front ,I know I had a mod. 92D double action only. Opps sorry for spoiling your story.

  46. bodgaard on March 12, 2023 at 3:32 am

On the Sig, “ I’d go to war with it right now”. Good enough for me.

  47. campsite z on March 12, 2023 at 3:32 am

you got something against the HK brand or something ?

  48. S.M. White II on March 12, 2023 at 3:35 am

Starting LE in 1988, issued the following in order:
    Smith and Wesson .357(Mdl 686) , P226(9mm) , P228(9mm) , Sig P229(.357 Sig) , Glock 19 (9mm). Wonder why I am Sig biased? 2 agencies and 35 years later, looking forward to some peace and quiet👍

  49. J-Roc D on March 12, 2023 at 3:37 am

I always noticed in Beverly Hills Cop Eddie Murphy carried a browning high power. For some reason that’s what pops into my head.

  50. Seth B on March 12, 2023 at 3:37 am

Give me 10 minutes with my tools and that P35 Hi Power and I will make that magazine safety BS feature go away. Three options, remove a single spring a pin or best option, remove all remove of those mag safety parts.
