The mossberg rifles are accurate and they seem pretty nice but I’ve never been a huge fan of the Bakelite trigger guard.

I was given a 26c that wouldn’t work right, and it turns out the warped and cracked trigger guard was just effecting the trigger.

I was able to get a replacement from Numritch, but that whole experience just kind of put me off.
Why make such a nice rifle to use a fragile synthetic material for the trigger guard?

I am probably just over thinking it though ang they’re likely fine most of the time.

Nothing wrong with ejection on that one. She is flinging empties with authority. Very nice Mossberg.

Great vid! Nice gun, I have that model but have the standard bolt. Heavy and sturdy build, they don’t make them like that any more. My favorite .22’s.

Numrich Parts has the rear, barrel mounted sight for sale.

I’ve had the US44 model since I was 14, I’m now 75…..It’s always been my favourite…..Unfortunately, my brother removed the sling swivels while I was away and I never found them….Extremely accurate with the same sight setup as yours (I also use the front ring sight under the hood)…..A bit heavier perhaps, with a ‘beefier’ stock and bull barrel, but 100 yards hitting plastic picnic spoons is a piece of cake……Don’t shoot much anymore even though I’d like to, ’cause I’m in Canada….’nuff said, eh….You have a nice example there, for sure…..

I also have one of those with the standard bolt handle, picked it up last year. It’s a marvelous rifle! You will enjoy that one!!
