Patrol Rifle Setup Do All Rifle Setup

Patrol Rifle Setup Do All Rifle Setup

In our previous QA we received a questions from a viewer about setting up their patrol rifle. We thought it was such a great question that we should make a video about our thoughts. In this video Dave goes over a couple of patrol rifle setup’s and talks about the the differences and parts used. There are a ton a variables but the core of a patrol rifle should be a quality rifle with a sling, sight system and light. The additional enhancements and parts are also gone over. We hope you found this video helpful and thank you for watching!

Dave–this is very good. Thank you a lot. It occurs to me that a home defense rifle is, as mission goes, virtually identical to a patrol rifle.

My set up consists of a Colt LE6920, Magpul furniture with a foregrip. Streamlight TLR-1 HL and a holosun 403c elite green dot.

Low power variable rides on my patrol rifle. IMO it is the best of both worlds. The power for absolute precision shots and close to the speed of a red dot.

Hard to explain to a judge how someone at 300 yards was a threat

1 minute in and I already trust this review. Although I will say, I feel like there’s better rifles for a patrol vehicle. Not to say that an AR isn’t an excellent choice but in a vehicle, I feel like having a foldable stock where the gun will run with it folded is an advantage no one should overlook. I’m essentially making the case for patrol officers to carry AK’s instead of AR’s especially since the ranges these officers are expected to shoot out to is varied with different police departments but it tends to be around the 250-300 yard range. Which is exactly what the 7.62×39 was intended to do out of a 16 inch barrel. I love both rifles but from my experience hog hunting the folding stock in a quick reflex situation is too helpful to not have

    Excellent video!

  28. Lien Law Maven on July 20, 2022 at 7:56 pm

The first thing that you talk about is a sling…..and then you don’t have one! What’s up with that?

  29. Drenoxian on July 20, 2022 at 7:58 pm

Might’ve missed it but what LPVO are you running?

  30. William Seifert on July 20, 2022 at 8:01 pm

You’re going to brown out the lens on your light if you keep it mounted so far forward like that.

    Good review.  Thanks.

I love them all. Even the “poor’s” ar’s.

  34. Travis N on July 20, 2022 at 8:07 pm

If a company puts out a junk product then call them out on it. Maybe you can help the newer guys out on avoiding bad purchases. Everybody wants to talk shit about bad quality parts & products, but nobody wants to say any names! Man up!

Anderson, DPMS, Rock River, PSA, Springfield just to name a few… They’re garbage!

  35. Life with Doberman on July 20, 2022 at 8:07 pm

  36. dragdragon23 on July 20, 2022 at 8:09 pm

I just put a 1-4 power scope on my rifle because I believe it’s the way to go, But notice the weight increase. Will test and Work with it to find out if it lives up to what I hope I need.

  37. Emmanuel Ménard on July 20, 2022 at 8:11 pm

I just have a topic I wanted you to talk about the all around rifle lenght

  38. Shitbox Overland on July 20, 2022 at 8:13 pm

    Rail for the SBR?

  39. Joshua Olson on July 20, 2022 at 8:13 pm

I love the look of your longer rifle…can you tell me how long the handguards are on it. Thanks in advance

  40. Mr Short on July 20, 2022 at 8:14 pm

out of curiosity is there optimal place to put a foregrip on a 16" barrel or is it just preference, because mine is particularly slightly rearward underneath my gas block. which when using c clamp method put my grip hand around the gas block.

  41. Rennfahrer555 on July 20, 2022 at 8:14 pm

What model is that 1-4 scope ?

  42. gator 556 on July 20, 2022 at 8:17 pm

You don’t "RUN" a rifle sling…… quit trying to be tacticool

  43. MeetTheTROLL on July 20, 2022 at 8:17 pm

Can someone comment everything about the second rifle that he has

  44. IIISW ILIII on July 20, 2022 at 8:18 pm

Is there a specific reason you didn’t mention Holo/Reflex sights as a sub for red dot? Or would you say they are a matter preference?

  45. Steven Stritenberger on July 20, 2022 at 8:19 pm

Sure wish us poor mortals were allowed to run stocks, forward grips and suppressors on our short barrel rifles but then we probably don’t need to have all that fancy stuff that could protect our hearing, make the weapon more accurate and safer and help save our lives and protect out families. I realize we can have all those things if we register it and pay big dollars and taxes that few of us have to spend.

  46. MrRambo1037 on July 20, 2022 at 8:23 pm

What are the handguards on those rifles?
