Same just happened to me today… radical complete upper less than 1.5 years old and 3500-5000 rounds down range never had any problems just a little jam when gun was bone dry, until this. Shit quality product i have been slowly changing all the parts on the upper anyways.

  2. Robert Villarreal on November 5, 2021 at 10:09 pm

so did they replace the part or not. it’s been almost 2 months and still didn’t make a video on how the customer service was

  3. 1911loaded on November 5, 2021 at 10:13 pm

I have the same rifle. my bolt had a crack running from the center part under the ejector. the gas key had also become loose. I reached out to radical and it took about two weeks to get a complete bcg replacement. not just the bolt but the entire carrier assembly. it had to be a bad batch of parts. I randomly 500 rounds I found the issue while cleaning. the replacement bolt is a colt style full auto. where as the one that came with it seem like some pos they had laying around. they replacement bolt is not the same as the one that came with the rifle. just FYI other than that I’ve not had any issues.

  5. Sonny on November 5, 2021 at 10:14 pm

  6. Emiliooooo on November 5, 2021 at 10:16 pm

I had the exact same thing happen to my RF 15. same breakage point.

  7. SqueelerWheeler on November 5, 2021 at 10:16 pm

same exact thing happened to my friends rifle.

  8. Desert Tactical on November 5, 2021 at 10:17 pm

4 years later. Not a deal breaker. Just got an RF. They have amazing CS. I just had some questions and they responded immediately. Another company that really pushes for customer satisfaction.

  9. Mark C on November 5, 2021 at 10:18 pm

Disappointing for an ar that had promise at that price point

  10. Dave Rountree on November 5, 2021 at 10:24 pm

are you shooting steel case ammo? that can break bolts

  11. Aaron Barkley on November 5, 2021 at 10:25 pm

I Just JB welded mine. Runs like a champ now…

  12. Josh Lane on November 5, 2021 at 10:27 pm

24” barrel 6.5 Grendal with a over sized chamber, steel case expanded and got stuck in the chamber, gas tube was pinned upside down and the receiver had too much play in it (up down and side to side) when I pinned it to two different lowers Noveske and a Dsa. I replaced it with a Anderson upper . Talked to customer service and got a return label # but not sure if I’m even going to bother sending it in since there seems to be no QC.

I don’t know if this a particular problem with Radical Arms, but I had a bolt failure as well. Not with a Radical Arms, but with a very well known brand, and not an inexpensive rifle. Two of the lugs sheared or broke off. This happened to me in the mid 90’s and the rifle was an Armalite. I still own the rifle, and it functions well. The broken bolt was part of a Nickel Bolt Carrier with a US Navy stamp. The Bolt carrier assembly wasn’t the original from Armalite. Any part can fail, and the beauty of the AR design is you don’t have to take it to a gunsmith for repair. I replaced the bolt with one from a gun show for about $24 (my how times have changed) and it’s functioned flawlessly since.

I had the opportunity many years ago to try out a Drop in Auto Sear with a Class 3 dealer at a range in Nevada. It worked great in the Armalite with the $24 replacement bolt.

  14. Jeb Stuart on November 5, 2021 at 10:28 pm

have they resolved this for you?

  15. anon on November 5, 2021 at 10:28 pm

Matt, I know it’s been a few months, but what was the outcome?

  16. MrT8T3R on November 5, 2021 at 10:28 pm

How did you remove the bolt head from the barrel?

  17. Old Man on November 5, 2021 at 10:29 pm

Sounds like the company PRODUCTS ARE radical SHIT.

  18. Player Review on November 5, 2021 at 10:29 pm

Failed heat treat FTW. Way too brittle after being nitrided. At least seems they’ve fixed this in later releases of the BCG, though I did get an RF upper I opted for the ‘upgraded’ Fail-Zero BCG just to be safe, so far so good.

  19. Brian Baker on November 5, 2021 at 10:29 pm

Just had this happen to my aero precision bolt. Only 5k rounds in.

  20. Monzudi Hungadowski on November 5, 2021 at 10:32 pm

Seems like RADICAL has a lot of flukes.

  21. Flinch Fu on November 5, 2021 at 10:32 pm

Damn, didn’t even get to taste carbon?

  22. Yevgeniy Simonovich on November 5, 2021 at 10:34 pm

oh wow. I bought a Radical AR. almost like yours only my hand guard is different. haven’t shot it yet! but this worries me now

  23. DaFungus Amungus on November 5, 2021 at 10:35 pm

Yo! Always order extra ones. They are usually like 30$. I used to work in the armory USMC and these always broke teeth and stuff all the time. If stuffs gonna break in the bolt carrier this is usually it. Its a cheap fix and it dosent hurt to have more laying around you just swap them out

  24. Jared Nauck on November 5, 2021 at 10:38 pm

Got a Radical RF-15 and haven’t shot it that much. I saw this video and Rob Ski’s video on the sheared cam pin. I got concerned and bought a CMMG cam pin and the Daniel Defense bolt to replace both parts in my Radical firearms BCG. I am going to load them up soon and try it out. I won’t tolerate sub standard parts in my AR. Just the jarhead in me talking. Thanks for the video.

  25. MrPecker I I I on November 5, 2021 at 10:38 pm

And it even says "MPI" 3000rds here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLzVIiYC7zM&t=88s Bolts are wear items. PSA has great deals on BCG’s. I have several extras. Magpul even has a cup to carry a spare bolt inside their grips. HOW MANY ROUNDS?

  26. Southern Renovated Homes on November 5, 2021 at 10:39 pm

same thing happen to me today!!!! i was at the range shooting and it happened.

  27. G Williams on November 5, 2021 at 10:39 pm

my Radical arms gas block came loss and caused me a problems…easy fix but not happy about it…they need to step up their QC…..before I bought my upper I found several QC problems on line from loss gas blocks to broken parts should have listened

  28. Danny45 on November 5, 2021 at 10:41 pm

    N e update?

  29. Brett Harbert on November 5, 2021 at 10:41 pm

Had the same thing on my RF upper. Radical replaced the bolt and bolt carrier. Great customer service.

  30. Baba Yaga on November 5, 2021 at 10:42 pm

I wish i could say i have never seen stuff like this happen with their products

  31. Jace Turner on November 5, 2021 at 10:42 pm

I have a RF pistol upper , and the bolt broke in half just like this, and the carrier cracked
    RF sucks

  32. Jacob Harrington -CoCorKiller on November 5, 2021 at 10:44 pm

Still love my radical arms ar. Thing rips. Musta had a weak point.. weird

  33. Anthony L on November 5, 2021 at 10:45 pm

So would you recommend picking one up but changing the bcg and trigger out?

  34. Jin Heu on November 5, 2021 at 10:45 pm

was the bolt s rf part

  35. Danny45 on November 5, 2021 at 10:46 pm

Sounds good brother…imma do the same thing if I have n e issues….I stay close to them

  36. Connor McD on November 5, 2021 at 10:46 pm

My bolt broke aswell, radical ar.

  37. John Parrish on November 5, 2021 at 10:46 pm

I had that happen once in a Colt M16a1 many years ago. You do know anything made by man will fail sooner or later.

  38. la la on November 5, 2021 at 10:47 pm

I have a few 556 RF guns. Only thing to go wrong was gas block loosened up on the first one I bought, and locktite on screws took care of it. I always upgrade bcg and a few other parts to make a gun "mine". Keep orig for spare. Mine chew up all ammo with no mag problems and are accurate. I’m sure there are better guns out there, take your money and double or triple it so you can go buy one. Oh wait, I forgot the $1700 DD didn’t last as long before it broke. Milspec? I’m sure they never need any extra parts in the zone since its all milspec. I work in a service industry everyday and its scary to see how many people can’t figure out basic "nut threads onto bolt" technology.

  39. camaroboi13 on November 5, 2021 at 10:47 pm

2 months later, have there been any updates from Radical Firearms on this? Did they replace the bolt, offer any advice or discounts, etc? Still interested in this firearm even with bolt issues, seems like a cheap n easy fix. I wonder if RF has updated their components to include stronger/higher quality pieces.

  40. jesseintime intime on November 5, 2021 at 10:48 pm

K cool thanks for the fast response thinking about getting one of these. Do you know what kind of grouping you get out of it? Thanks again.

  41. sixgunslingin on November 5, 2021 at 10:50 pm

I thought they advertised they were MPI tested…dang

  42. ♠👣former JJ on November 5, 2021 at 10:50 pm

I’ve had exactly the same issue today while shooting. Cracked in two! One side is still stuck in the chamber ffs! Not the same make tho. My Ar has about 5000 rds thru it. Don’t know what happend but I think it may have something to do with the extractor: one case wasn’t ejected properly and it caused the whole mess, but i’m just guessing.

  43. jesseintime intime on November 5, 2021 at 10:52 pm

Did radical firearms fix it with no issues??

  44. Matt Benson on November 5, 2021 at 10:56 pm

I had the same exact issue they were awesome to work with on getting a new BCG it only took about 4 days to send my old one back and get a replacement but I went out today and the new BCG is already failing have not even put 100 rounds through it I emailed them so we will see what the solution is, in the mean time I put a Palmetto state BCG in and I will shoot it next weekend and see what happens it will be rediculous if a cheap $60 BCG shows radical how it’s done.

  45. Brandon Fredenburg on November 5, 2021 at 10:56 pm

radical firearms is junk don’t buy it.

  46. MacPro8CoreMan on November 5, 2021 at 10:58 pm

Even though my RF AR has had no issues, I am going to replace the entire BCG with Bolt. Thinking of NB with a Carpenter 158 Bolt.

  47. darkdemise99 on November 5, 2021 at 11:00 pm

Wasn’t it a Radical firearms AR that had the bolt cam pin snap in two on the AK channel?

  48. Jeb Stuart on November 5, 2021 at 11:00 pm

hey man any word on what’s going on with this?

  49. M S on November 5, 2021 at 11:00 pm

Just had the same thing happen to me today while firing! Mine is a lantac bolt carrier group though! I also shoot about 200 rounds every Sunday. I chalked it up to shooting a lot. Thanks for the video Sir.🤘🏽👹🤘🏽

  50. jdmac44 on November 5, 2021 at 11:01 pm
