Rep. Maloney: I Expected Gun Manufacturers To Accept Some Responsibility For Their Actions

Congress has passed a new assault weapons ban that likely won’t make it through the Senate. But that is not stopping Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney from standing up to gun manufacturers. “I expected them to accept some responsibility for their actions, which they refused to do. After Uvalde, Buffalo, and all these mass shootings across the country, the support for assault weapon bans has grown to over 70%. People are demanding action.”

  5. Wisconsin Man on October 20, 2022 at 9:08 pm

Do phone makers? How many have died reaching for their phone? Texting while driving? Do car manufacturers? Those 3 ton weapons slamming into other vehicles? Why in TF should gun makers accept responsibility for idiots?

  6. James & Melissa White on October 20, 2022 at 9:09 pm

It’s not the manufacturers fault criminals break the law. You have no credibility all that comes out of your mouth is lies ,manipulations and virtue signaling. And you don’t have to worry you will always have armed guards to protect you your rich and privileged.

  7. Spits Flamez on October 20, 2022 at 9:10 pm

The Republicans are so out of touch that are risking the wrath of their electorate by voting against this very sensible bill.

Guns cause crime, knives cause crime, sharp heavy objects cause crime, et. al. Carolyn MAY change her mind about all of this when she sobers up.

  16. Timothy Lopez on October 20, 2022 at 9:18 pm

😡Now that we have to worry about Democrats rushing to buy guns after they intentionally armed a rebellion. Warned you this would happen too. Can’t have the targets of our constant threats defending themselves.

  17. Spits Flamez on October 20, 2022 at 9:19 pm

I guess we are going to sue alcohol companies when people drunk drive 🤷🏾‍♂️

  18. Stephen Tomsky on October 20, 2022 at 9:19 pm

To be very clear, it is entirely the gun manufacturer’s CHOICE to sell these weapons to civilians.

  19. Gauntletwielder on October 20, 2022 at 9:20 pm

WTF?!?!?!?!? She expected them to accept some responsibility????? What is the weather like on her planet???? This is indicative of a person detached from Reality. If I was one of her constituents, I would be worried.

guns are made to hurt people. they make moolah off of that.

  21. David Miller on October 20, 2022 at 9:20 pm

Make guns safer? Their whole point is killing. Making them safer is antithetical to their existence.

    Guns save lives

  28. T. R. Campbell on October 20, 2022 at 9:26 pm

What an absolutely stupid comment. Do we expect automobile dealers to take responsibility for drunk driving? Do we expect knife manufacturers to take responsibility for crimes? Why should gun manufacturers take responsibility for the illegal, illegal and unlawful actions of a small minority of criminals who commit crimes? Do we expect our elected representatives to keep their sworn duty to protect the Constitution which includes the Second Amendment, and the rights that she will not be infringed? We do!

"Common Sense Gun Control". It’s been done before. Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot all enacted "common sense gun control".
And it only costs over 70 million people exterminated "for the people". But it’s worth it for that Marxist Utopia, right ?

Turning to history nothing was done until cigarette manufacturers were forced into stating that "their" product was causing damage

Will knife manufacturers be held liable for stabbings?

  40. Thomas Voloshen on October 20, 2022 at 9:48 pm

So when a nut job drives a truck through a crowd at a parade should the truck manufacturer be held responsible?😳

YEP, PRETTY CRAZY THAT TOYS CAN BE BANNED OR REMOVED DUE TO BEING UNSAFE OR FATAL, BUT THE BIGGEST TOY OF THEM ALL THAT HAS THE BIGGEST RISK OF KILLING PEOPLE CAN BE FREELY OBTAINED WITH NO CONSEQUENCES FROM THE MANUFACTURERS

  45. Robert Ross on October 20, 2022 at 9:53 pm

Mental health evaluations before purchasing a gun?

  46. TrueWraith on October 20, 2022 at 9:53 pm

No one blames car manufacturers when a loved one is killed by a drunk driver.

  47. Charles Smyth on October 20, 2022 at 9:53 pm

Until there are existential consequences, like those that apply to those that can be sued out of existence, there is no reason for the Gun Industry — of the JR15 — to accept or show any responsibility whatsoever. Get real, Rep. Maloney 🙂

  48. ST7A Bad Karma on October 20, 2022 at 9:54 pm

ETA on making car manufacturers responsible for DUI deaths and vehicular manslaughter?

  49. googl android on October 20, 2022 at 9:55 pm

This has nothing to do with gun manufacturers. This problem was solved a long time ago in developed societies. It’s not a hard problem, lmao 🙂 Just ask advice from pretty much any first world country 😅

  50. Chris Coff on October 20, 2022 at 9:55 pm

She told a bold faced lie as usual and as usual MSNBC did not call her on it. Over half those deaths are suicide. When can we sue the federal government for the mass importation of drugs into our country because of their refusal to secure the border…100,000 deaths a year from drug overdoses.

BTW social justice warriors… Mexico, Brazil and several other central and South America countries have gun laws stricter than Canada….with much higher gun violence rates than the US. Not everyone is stupid enough to buy you BS, just the useful idiots you rely upon to get elected.
