Great video, the FNX is one of my favorite .45’s! You can get flat base plates for the full capacity mags, it will reduce the capacity by one. Still, 14 rounds of .45 is an industry leading capacity. Also, the flat base plate does help significantly if you ever did try to conceal the chunky boy. At that point it’s really not much harder than hiding a G21/20.

Look forward to your Go Big Bore or Go Home aka the House of the Rising Gun posts. Keep them coming buddy!!!

I have a FDE FNX-45 Tactical, it’s a Sweet Beast. I like it a lot better than my HK Mark23

  4. gameragodzilla on February 23, 2023 at 2:36 am

The FNX-45’s capacity is why I went out of my way to track down 15 round mags for my custom 1911 built on a Para-Ordnance frame. Remington made 15 round mags for their version of the Para frame 1911 before they went out of business, and the RP45 actually uses the same mag body just with a different baseplate. Still compatible with the Para frame. It allowed me to keep the 1911 ergonomics (especially trigger and metal frame) that I like so much with the FNX’s capacity.

Of course, being a fully metal frame gun that also has 15+1 rounds of Winchester Ranger T 230 gr. .45ACP in side does make it quite heavy. Tames recoil a great deal but you definitely feel it. I still carry it daily since my belt is a 2" thick duty belt which could hold up even a Desert Eagle just fine, so this is nothing by comparison. lol

I have the fnx 45 tactical I put a short barrel on it for conceal and love the gun for carry.

The grip texture does rub my skin a bit when concealed but it’s just inconvenient at times not annoying. Also you can wear an under shirt if you like.

The gun is sometimes a pain because of how heavy it is compared to my fnp9 9mm but I’m used to 1911’s also.

All in all she shoots smooth and you know 15 rounds of .45 acp is gonna get the job done.

"Recoil is manageable"… I thought recoil was required!

  7. HitokiriRaiden on February 23, 2023 at 2:42 am

My cousin has one and its a awesome shooting pistol, He recently got a 460 rowland kit for it and 15 rounds of 460 rowland is alot of firepower.

  8. Douglas Reynaert on February 23, 2023 at 2:42 am

Sean I love your show especially love the comment you made on the FNX in 45. I own anFN TACTICAL. Can I shoot Underwood ammo 45 super through that gun I know it’s rated 4+ p. What do you think?

  9. Mac Breck on February 23, 2023 at 2:45 am

Where’d you get those grips to wrap around that porcupine?

I found the sights you mentioned, online, but naturally they’re out of stock, just like 99% of the stuff I look for. 🙄

Have you have any inadvertent magazine releases with the 230 grain? For me, the magazine release button sticks up too far, and is too easy to actuate, especially with 15 rounds of 230 grain.

FNX 45 is a chunky boy.. but its an awesome chunky boy…..

  11. HugoStiglitz on February 23, 2023 at 2:48 am

I’ve heard really good things about this pistol. I wish there was an option for decocker only with no manual safety. The long heavy DA trigger pull makes the safety redundant and unnecessary in my opinion.

  12. ded walk on February 23, 2023 at 2:51 am

I went to the range today after picking up the FNX .45 that I purchased on Tuesday. I was so excited and was not disappointed. To quote the NWO from the old WCW wrestling days, " The FN FNX .45 is just too sweeeeet". I put over 150 rounds thru it. I love how it handles. There sure is a big difference in shooting single action compared to double action, but it takes practice. I had a tight shot group and the recoil was very manageable. I think this will be my ECW weapon once I get a holster for it. I highly recommend this pistol.

Great. Now I have to add another .45 to my stable of .45’s. And at a time when they keep coming out with new 10mm’s that I "need". Seriously though, great review. I want one!

Fun fact ( not fun ) : i live in Belgium, and i am looking at this gun because of the brand’s legendary status here in Belgium.
But it costs 1200€ here, and wasnt even imported until late 2022….

  19. Lifted_Above on February 23, 2023 at 3:04 am

Only other production semi-auto I know of in 45acp that approaches this capacity is the Sarsilmaz K2 45, but it’s a steel framed beast weighing over 40oz empty.

  20. alkhaljabry on February 23, 2023 at 3:05 am

What causes it to appear to the aggressor?

  21. Nicholas Moses on February 23, 2023 at 3:05 am

I miss my fnx 45. It was the best gun I ever had and I shot my best groupings ever with it. Had to let it go to help provide for my kids and I am hunting another one now

  22. DurkHurker on February 23, 2023 at 3:06 am

Question time!: How does the magazine release feel on both sides? As a lefty shooter, crunchy/more tension on the alternative side of a mag release has really turned me off the CZ P10 and The Canik guns, I’ve only really liked the Ruger SR series as far as those go.

And how would the shooting experience compare to a fullsize HK-45?

  23. Brad Slone on February 23, 2023 at 3:08 am

I had a Glock gen 3 G21 in 45 acp and loved it l. I wish I had not gotten rid of it.

  24. Dwarvenchef on February 23, 2023 at 3:11 am

I have the old school P220 in 45 and LOVE it.

  25. J S on February 23, 2023 at 3:12 am

I like mine and carry it. Need to get custom holster build and a mag carrier that works for the mags. Good to go.

  26. touofthehighplains on February 23, 2023 at 3:14 am

What you get with FNX45 is compromise knowing the FNX45 didn’t endure the rigorous testing of 30,000 rounds of +p. And the mean average of a malfunction every 6,000 rounds of the 30,000 rounds fired from the Mark 23.

  27. Ms. Ann Thrope on February 23, 2023 at 3:16 am

I have the FNX .45 standard. I don’t need the Tactical. This is my biggest, baddest .45 pistol. I have several custom grade 1911s and production grade 1911s but this is the most perfect "go to war" pistol. With 15 rounds of +P .45 JHP and a Streamlight TLR 1 light, it is an awesome bedside companion. This is a perfect companion to my FN SCAR 17 Heavy as the SHTF load out kit. The single action is livable. It ain’t no custom 1911 trigger but it’s livable. The anti corrosion coating over stainless steel slide with a polymer frame makes it a great outdoor pistol, being impervious to rain, salt, sweat, dirt, and slop. just a top choice for camping or hiking for all predators especially 2 legged predators.

  28. Jason B on February 23, 2023 at 3:25 am

Well worth the money I’m in love. To me it practically shoots like a 9 mm

  29. Archimagirus Sancti on February 23, 2023 at 3:25 am

I love my G21, but this is awesome
