@a55kika18 Noope, I’m not Muslim. I got that rug as a gift from some Kuwaitis during my last tour in Iraq. I am just a standard issue Christian all the way through.

This demonstration make an interesting case for the single shot gun. Friend of mine bought an H&R(?) single shot some time back for home defene. Privately, I thought he wasted his money, but this video makes me think that.

My interest in these types of shotguns shot up when I learned that there chamber adapters for them. The fact that I could fire 12 guage from one, then insert a chamber adapter and be able to fire 9mm is really cool. Might make for a neat bug out bag/survival rifle.

why do you have the shell caddy on the outside ??? flip it into the inside so you dont have to reach over

Last week I bought the NEF (New England Firearms) 12Gauge single shot Pardner. I have the same setup basically, but mine did not come with the sling rings. Which is no big deal, I can furnish my own. I know your at your duty station, so I do not expect a response in how ever long, or what ever. Time to buy some snap caps lol.

How do you feel about cutting the barrel to 18 1/2 inches? Yes, or No?

  12. rockbay79 on September 17, 2022 at 8:40 pm

    Very good presentation!

  13. GreeseMonkeyy on September 17, 2022 at 8:41 pm

nice video man, ive been planning to get one of those this weekend actually and maybe do a few customizations, 5 stars

  14. Armed Defender Gear Reviews on September 17, 2022 at 8:42 pm

The single shot 12 gauge is only considered as a defense gun when nothing else is available.

This video shows that it is possible to use a single shot in defense. It’s not exactly the fastest, or the most ideal, but it’s possible.

  15. a55kika18 on September 17, 2022 at 8:42 pm

    @millerusaf
It looks good on the wall…

  16. dozzy000 on September 17, 2022 at 8:44 pm

@millerusaf hi miller thanks for the video, are Rossis made in the US? are the taurus pistols still made in the US coz i heard they are now making them in Brazil. thanks.

  17. thedefinitive on September 17, 2022 at 8:45 pm

I totally agree. train with what you’ve got if that’s what you’ve got. good video. I know single shot and double barrel shotguns aren’t the best thing for defense, but I love them lol

  18. ImAnOtter on September 17, 2022 at 8:48 pm

Hey can you tell me what sling and shell carrying case you are using?

  19. Tim Moore on September 17, 2022 at 8:50 pm

@a55kika18 Why would it matter if he was Muslim anyway?

  20. Travon Brown on September 17, 2022 at 8:51 pm

    good job nice vid

  21. Armed Defender Gear Reviews on September 17, 2022 at 8:51 pm

There tons of better choices out there for home defense as far as a shotgun is concerned. I just wanted to show that if this is all you have and you cannot get anything else, then it’s possible to employ this in a defensive situation (although not ideal).

  22. Mitch Dominski on September 17, 2022 at 8:53 pm

Does the rossi 12 gauge have a smooth bore barrel or a rifled barrel?

  23. echo6cavedog on September 17, 2022 at 8:54 pm

    Just subbed…
I too am a proponent of "Train with what you have and not with what you wish you had". HD is achieveable with sub $100 weps, and I’ll betcha I can make you run for cover with a J22. Keep the vids coming.

  24. exionem on September 17, 2022 at 8:54 pm

Great video, I’m thinking about getting a single shot shotgun for home defense but was adviced to get the 20 gauge model (youth) as it has less recoil and has a shorter barrel which is better in a closed quarter enviroment such as a house. Any advice or should I just get the regular 12 ?

  25. spindrift 1 on September 17, 2022 at 8:55 pm

Dude you almost busted your picture!

  32. John Hattabaugh on September 17, 2022 at 9:06 pm

just finished watching both of your videos on the single shot, shotguns. good videos. i’m thinking of a .410 guage, though. in a jumbo studio apartment (which i’m currently inhabiting) i think the .410 will do me just fine…in adition to a hi-point c9-same purpose of usage. thanks, keep up the good work, and as always:
    semper fi.

    `Repeat as necessary` 😛

  34. ETR2k3 on September 17, 2022 at 9:12 pm

I had to decide between this, and a FIE Titan 25ACP today. I chose the Titan, but only because a home defense oriented pump is in my near future. I have been doing a good amount of research on home and personal defense on the cheap, and your Youtube videos have been a great help. Thank you!

  35. DYTCH72 on September 17, 2022 at 9:13 pm

I want one of these 12 gauge Rossis for sure! Trying to find one might be a choir though!?

  36. GrilledCheeseMouth on September 17, 2022 at 9:14 pm

    cut it down to 18.5

  37. ffoxxtrott on September 17, 2022 at 9:20 pm

i bought the NEF version 12ga, pretty much identical as far as functionality. Best $150 ive ever spent, simple action and construction makes for flawless performance and reliability, i definetly recommend these models of shotgun for anyone interested in affordable straight to the point defense plus its a blast to bring out for target shooting for cheap. SLOW IS SMOOTH, SMOOTH IS FAST!! I love that!! haha, you da man, thanks or the vid.

  38. MrDinosaurus on September 17, 2022 at 9:21 pm

getting this in the very near future!!!

  39. ShotgunShooter666 on September 17, 2022 at 9:22 pm

I’ve got one of thosee in 20ga and NEF in .410.
    Nice video.

  40. Not Required on September 17, 2022 at 9:22 pm

lik eyour vids getting tired of all the reviews of guns and grear i cant afford.

  41. PopsMedlong on September 17, 2022 at 9:22 pm

Are you familiar with the Safari method of reloading? You hold three round in your weak hand, brass up. (one in the chamber) Using your same procedure you drop the rounds in without having to reach all the way to the butt stock.

  42. Keefe Borden on September 17, 2022 at 9:23 pm

Thanks for the video…. I like the minimalist approach and may ultimately go this route. "Slow is smooth and smooth is fast" — I also like that thought. Best, Keefe

  43. impoverished millionaire on September 17, 2022 at 9:23 pm

I got a 20 guage at a flea market for $70. The barrel is now 19 inches as is the reciever and stock. Perfect size for clearing rooms or stow in a backpack. If a badguy hears it bark inside a structure they wont hear you reload for the ringing in their ears. And assume you have something that’s going to make them have as bad a day as their friend they left on your floor.

  44. Van Solo on September 17, 2022 at 9:24 pm

Apply, lather, rinse and repeat. Simple yet effective. AR-15 who? Where’s my scatter gun?

  45. Brent Gogel on September 17, 2022 at 9:26 pm

I would cut that joker down to at least 20 inches for HD if that’s all I had. Also…. Practice keeping your first reload in your off hand for a really fast reload. You can get 2 off really quick like that. That should be all u need

  46. MAAANVE on September 17, 2022 at 9:27 pm

Very good video! Rossi what model is it? where you bought the accessories?

  47. Tyler on September 17, 2022 at 9:27 pm

I really like this gun especially for the cheap price tag on it .

    Good video

    Professional home defence guru….

  49. botch13 on September 17, 2022 at 9:28 pm

Glad I found this video . Thanks for posting it. I have 3 shotguns. A semi auto Stoeger, a double barrel Haikal, and that same Rossi. Ideally, you’d think the semi auto would be my HD choice, but it misfires sometimes with all types of loads. I’ve come to rely on the double barrel, and the Rossi. The double barrel gives me a nice quick follow-up shot, but I am definitely faster with the Rossi. With a shot loaded, and 5 in a carrier just like yours, I can pop off 6 shots on target in <18 seconds.

Gonna get that gun as my SHTF gun…
