Rossi 92 – .357 Magnum lever action goodness
Rossi 92 – .357 Magnum lever action goodness
Decided to treat myself. Been on a lever action kick lately, and decided to look for one that was stainless, and chambered in .357 magnum. Lucked out and found one at a good price!
I have this very same gun, love the reddish wood finish, and I got it for the very same reason you got it.
My Henry big boy classic in 45 colt is stupidly smooth and gorgeous, but is also a pain in the ass to keep it looking good as well as being quite heavy.
I will say the Big boys weight does help quite a bit in absorbing the recoil when firing Buffalo Bore Deer Grenade with it’s 2100 lb/ft of energy.
The Rossi 92 is very light compared to the big boy, it’s very easy to care for and is just a joy to shoot.
I do not like buck horn sights and replaced it with a bulls eye ghost ring sight from Steves Gunz and love it.
Btw, a 357 out of a 20 inch barrel gains on average about 500 fps over a 4 inch barrel pistol, that is nothing to sneeze at, Buffalo Bore makes 125 grain ammo with a muzzle velocity of 2400 fps out of a 20 inch barrel.
My next rifle. Be a great companion for my S&W 686 revolver. Thanks for the review.
"Typhoid Mary"…….hilarious…….btw, I have the same GP100 good looking, strong like a tank and they are a keeper.
Bring it to my house and we’ll shoot it and prowl around for some piggies. Do a search for a "No Drill" sling that has a harness for the buttstock and a clamp-on sling mount for the front that clamps onto the magazine tube. I find that it’s light enough to just carry around, and if I need to do anything with my hands I just prop it against a tree.
Yeah, YouTube really doesn’t support Civil Rights.
I sure would like to know where you picked that up for 550 for that price I would have bought two
Why + 38?
It can TaKe all 38’s +357.
Or is this 🇺🇸⚖️there was no warning so i shot it 410 shot shell= and had serious proble,/s
Congratulations on the new R92.
Just bought that same gun. Cycles the 38 & 357 just fine. Great little gun. I want an 1873 next.
I loaded 140 grain Hornady FTX. Shot 2 does last year. Pass through on both front shoulder, on each deer within 40 yards, with my Rossi 92 .357
The recent models of the Rossi 92s are really nice and well made….EXCEPT FOR THAT GOD AWFUL DUMB ASS SAFETY ON TOP OF THE BOLT. Actually owned one BEFORE the safety import garbage was implemented. It was in 45 colt.. wish I still had it. I do have a nice Chiappa 92 in 38/357 without the bolt or tang safety and it is race smooth right out of the box. Would pic up a new Rossi if available but would remove the top bolt safety IMMEDIATELY and put in a nice round plug.
YouTube is the tool of the WEF
0:22 " a big bag of salty d**ks…" I think some movie theatres are stocking these now… 😂🤣😆
I was looking at one of those at Dahlonega gold & pawn yesterday. It was .45 long colt.
I picked up the Henry in 357 mag in the carbine round barrel, what a sweetheart, I handled the Rossi, it is a nice gun the price is better, but that Henry is just a sweetheart of a lever gun.
130 year old design…..these guns were invented AFTER the "cowboys" days.
Big bag of salty diseased dicks
I have this rifle as well – LOVE IT. I cut the mag spring to make it easier to load, and sanded down the edges at the loading gate. Now, it’s smooth as butter. I also have the same version Henry rifle, but I actually like the Rossi BETTER. My Henry fails to eject every 15 or so shots – the Rossi never does. And I like the safety on the Rossi better. The cross-bar safety on Henry is worthless.
Hard to beat a lever action rifle in the "good looking" department! Maybe I watched too many westerns but the Winchester 94, Marlin 336C etc… I have a Uberti Silverboy, similar to the Henry but it is cowboy-action ready (will load and cycle upside-down, like I’d need that feature) 🙃 Nice Rossi there.
You got a good gun and I got one to Tennessee😂101 Prepper
I picked up a Rossi 357 16 inch about a month ago. It’s a great "all around" gun. Shares ammo with pistols, they are legal in all 50 states (and will be one of the last rifles to be looked at for banning), they are fun and economical for plinking, can be loaded for home defense (the versatility of the 38 or 357 depending on your living situation), can be loaded for hunting most game, easy for ammo reloading, and it is affordable. It is really hard not to like them. It is not the best gun for any situation, but it is good enough for most situations.
Ya, in the ballistics gel and what not test I’ve seen, the .357 out the lever is ‘Almost’ as good as a 30/30 With the cost of ammo and or self loading cost? ya, it’s close enough to use that to take down small deer at under a hundred yards. You can actually use the .38’s for small game like Coyotes.
Been addicted to these forever, had a 30 30 lever. I was hoping to eventually pickup 45 70, but damn $3 bullet! I might have to go 44 mag instead. That wood and stainless is an awesome combo. Wild hog would make some tasty barbeque, good luck.
550$ where did you get that from?
nice pick up with rifle. have the 16.5 inch stainless in 357. its definitely lighter then my 1866. cycles nice. ammo more available. barely any recoil with either 38/357.
I love mine. Shoots great
I had purchased the Rossi r92 tripple black in 38/357, Rossi retooled their factory a few years ago, mine cycle’s smooth out of the box, I added a red dot….. I like the stainless model. It’s a great utility tool for the bush. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for sharing I just bought the 92 are with the gold 20 inch barrel. I have not shot it yet will hopefully shoot it in the very near future.
The stainless steel recoil pad really helps with hot loads. 🙂
YouTube doesn’t seem to mind footage of bombs being dropped from drones on soldiers and the result. Yep, resulting injury/incapacity/maybe death. Total hypocrisy
I had one on order but unfortunately canceled it not realizing 357 bullets are still over 70 per round for even junk ammo and most dollar and more.
The 92 Rossi is a great little rifle. I have one with the 16 inch barrel, also in 357/38
92 is a strong action. These Rossi rifles smooth up nicely with use. Some tend to be a bit rough out of the box. Shoot the hell out of yours !
