    Ruger has definitely moved away from some of their classic designs. Even their 22/45 pistols are easy to disassemble, now!

    i would still go with the Lithgow, too few left handed .22lr rifles out there.

    I’ve got the stainless synthetic one and sweetened the trigger a bit with some Volquartzen parts

    Don’t give up mate I recently found one still in the box hidden out back of my local gun shop in the stainless got it for my Christmas present it is definitely all you guys say they are and more I’m a big Ruger fan have three M77 and a ranch definitely my favourite

    Interesting. My 77/17 has the stainless bolt, and my 77/22 has a blued. Great shooters.

    I still have mine that I purchased in 1985 According to Ruger’s website using my serial number it was the manufactured the very first year of production 1984 (36 Years Old!)
