I found one of these at Cabelas in Fairview/Allen Texas. Price was $800…Is that a reasonable price?

Single action beauty! I have the SB Hunter I love it

  6. Big Kyle on July 20, 2022 at 7:40 pm

Bought a used bisley hunter, put 20 rounds thru it ,and the action locked up. Took it to a gun smith, and I think he’s gonna send it back to ruger. Hope they take care of it, one of the best looking hunting revolvers, just want it to be reliable.

  8. The Average Woodsman on July 20, 2022 at 7:41 pm

I just pick one of these up at my local dealer. I got a great deal on it… Too good to pass up, and honestly it’s probably my favorite firearms that I have ever owned, and that’s saying a lot.

Thanks. I looked at one of these today.

  14. Jeffrey Locke on July 20, 2022 at 7:44 pm

Actually a properly loaded 44 magnum is as deep a penetrator as the 460 S&W and 500 S&W magnum revolvers. A 340 grain Buffalo Bore factory load out of that beautiful gun will drop the largest animals that roam the earth. Nice revolver.

  15. James Lineberger on July 20, 2022 at 7:46 pm

It is a fine gun but there a couple of issues . The 3.75 barrel length makes the ejector rod too short to push out the cases fully. You have to use your fingers to get the cases out. I have had issues with the cylinder rod popping forward on recoil with magnums and jamming the revolver. It could use a retaining screw instead of the spring loaded plunger to retain the rod. But is is a hoot to shoot. Muzzle blast is an attention getter.

  20. Mark Allen on July 20, 2022 at 7:51 pm

Wish they would make a 5 1/2 inch ss version. I think ruger did about 10 to 15 yrs ago.

  26. Gunnar Eriksen on July 20, 2022 at 7:56 pm

  27. bunkysdad on July 20, 2022 at 8:00 pm

I couldn’t agree more. That revolver is pure poetry in mechanic form.

  28. pimpjuice739 on July 20, 2022 at 8:01 pm

Man I really envy you sir. I’m still here in the UK šŸ™ how did you get your US citizenship?? šŸ˜€ I need to move there.

  29. Calvin Richardson on July 20, 2022 at 8:04 pm

How do you like the Bisley grip frame? I’ve handled a few and I’ve never been a huge fan of it, but then, my hands are rather medium sized too. I love the Bisley hammer though.

  30. Magshag San on July 20, 2022 at 8:04 pm

oh my god thats a fine gun.. i hate you! now i want that too!

  31. 512TEXAS GEAR on July 20, 2022 at 8:05 pm

Probablythe nicest single action revolver I’ve seen!! But I gotta stick with 357 myself, 44 mag has just to much recoil for me

  32. marshell cizauskas on July 20, 2022 at 8:07 pm

My dad had 10.5 " barrel

  33. Matt H on July 20, 2022 at 8:07 pm

That is a good looking gun! Iā€™m gonna have to get one!

  34. Martin Wall on July 20, 2022 at 8:09 pm

Yass umm, it will get the JOB done, no matter what the situation. good luck and smart choice, for we know Ruger makes top-quality firearms that last and function for a lifetime.

  35. Isaac Arnold on July 20, 2022 at 8:09 pm

Check out the custom work Mag-Na-Port offers, I sent both my SBH .44’s to them for customization. Although I can understand if you want to keep that revolver just like it came out of the box!

  36. efrey1911 on July 20, 2022 at 8:10 pm

    How about a range report?

  37. Blatant Abuse on July 20, 2022 at 8:10 pm

I thought .44 magnum actually doesn’t lose many fps per inch?

  38. Skylined12 on July 20, 2022 at 8:11 pm

I have the "hunter" version of that same gun (longer barrel) and I really hope that you end up loving yours as much as I love mine…

  39. AllAmericanShooter on July 20, 2022 at 8:12 pm

Beautiful gun. Looking forward to seeing you shoot it. Hope the wrist is better!

  40. StPaul76 on July 20, 2022 at 8:13 pm

Now that is an achingly beautiful piece of a revolver.. Very good taste my good Sir!

  41. ALEX GOMEZ on July 20, 2022 at 8:18 pm

  42. efrey1911 on July 20, 2022 at 8:18 pm

Beautiful. That one’s on my short list of "must have."

  43. BeanDip0913 on July 20, 2022 at 8:20 pm

    awesomeness

  44. HugoStiglitz on July 20, 2022 at 8:24 pm

Someone please give me a reason to buy this thing! I don’t do much backpacking in grizzly country and I already have a Vaquero convertible and a Blackhawk .357….But damn it’s a beauty!

  45. 512TEXAS GEAR on July 20, 2022 at 8:24 pm

Looking at grabbing one but the Regular model..no Bisley grips but looks just as nice!

  46. The Average Woodsman on July 20, 2022 at 8:25 pm

I just pick one of these up at my local dealer. I got a great deal on it… Too good to pass up, and honestly it’s probably my favorite firearms that I have ever owned, and that’s saying a lot.

  47. Skylined12 on July 20, 2022 at 8:25 pm

I’ve shot my Super Blackhawk Bisley Hunter side by side with my buddies Super Redhawk both in 44 mag and I don’t know what it is but there is just something special about a heavy old single action that, for me anyways, just enhances the whole experience. Might be the low tech mixed with a thumping cartridge like the .44 or just swinging open the loading gate and popping in one pill at a time, then cocking the hammer just brings me closer to each shot, more connected for whatever reason…

  48. HugoStiglitz on July 20, 2022 at 8:28 pm

I just got the 45LC/ACP version of this gun. Really enjoyed shooting 45 ACP and can’t wait to try some hot 45 LC +P rounds!

Do you have a recommendation for a holster for it? I am currently looking for the same revolver.
