Savage AXIS Trigger Upgrade Kit by M*CARBO is a major improvement for the factory Savage AXIS Trigger. Custom Savage AXIS Gun Parts are made in America and the Ultimate Savage AXIS Accessories for improving the Savage AXIS Accuracy. Unfortunately there isn’t a Savage AXIS Accutrigger available from the factory for this rifle unless you purchased the Savage AXIS II XP for roughly $500. The Savage AXIS Trigger Upgrade Kit is by far the best and most affordable Savage AXIS Modification available to reduce the trigger pull and reduce overtravel. Check out the installation video to see a review of the Savage AXIS Parts and see the Savage AXIS Disassembly.

Watch any Savage AXIS Review and most will say they don’t like the heavy factory trigger pull.

    Is this kit still available

  2. GRUMPY on April 26, 2023 at 3:56 am

Chris, great kit. I do not have a trigger gauge, however the trigger is greatly improved.  I happened to find a birch sporter type stock in the Boyds accessory listing ??  I now have a nice looking, great shooting Axix 308. I had purchased and installed 2 Marlin 60 kits some time ago and completely satisfied. USN 65-69

Whoever didn’t " like" this video, probably gets headaches from latex paint

Pretty good rundown, but where are the shims at?! Got shims with my kit… And what do we need eye protection for in this trigger install?!?! 🙄

About 15 minutes top. Watch the eclip. It will want to fly away. The factory spring is a little weird the way it is installed but it will come out. Once you get the set screw and spring in, wait until you get the stock back on to test the trigger. Mine was night and day different.

Love this kit super easy and made well

  9. SuperCamper on April 26, 2023 at 4:05 am

Why didn’t you install the trigger shim washers?

Thanks again M*Carbo, I don’t even own a Savage Axis, but was able to refer a fellow Canadian shooter, to you guys for this and he was totally happy with all of it, another great product.

I put the 2.5 pound spring in my wife’s .350 Legend. She loves it!

  12. CRC Design on April 26, 2023 at 4:11 am

Is the spring what controls the pull weight?

  13. Steve Ledwith on April 26, 2023 at 4:12 am

Installed today. What a difference! Just turned a $300 rifle into a $600 one. Maybe a Boyd’s stock next?

It’s exactly like the video, though I did more swearing at the e-clip than this guy managed.

  15. ElectricEye on April 26, 2023 at 4:16 am

HUGE improvement!! I installed the 2.5lb spring and it’s transformed the rifle.

  16. Kent Zimmerman on April 26, 2023 at 4:17 am

This is a great kit. This makes my gun a lot better.

  17. Mark Guerra on April 26, 2023 at 4:19 am

Quick and easy installation. Thanks for the video.

Please make a kit for Savage 110

I just switched out the trigger spring on my Savage AXIS with the M*Carbo kit. This was really straight forward and easy. So easy that I had to make sure I didn’t miss something. The new trigger pull weight is SO much better than it used to be. Can’t wait to try it at the range.

Spot on kids… Thanks. Picked an Axis .308 for a farm gun recently. And put this spring kit in.. Put the 2.5 lb spring in it, and what a difference 4 sure.. No take up, the wall is right there.. Clean crisp break, and the after travel is gone.. Side to side trigger slop was cut to a third.. Even pounded snot on the butt/pad with a cocked trigger on the floor to see if it would let go, it didn’t.. Yeah man, turned a $300 beater rifle into one that feels like a $500… Swap the scope out, and this could well become an easy, reliable 500 yard gun… Cheers.. 🙂

    Just installed mine. Great improvement.

The screw is a different from the video but that’s ok. Also I’m the kit there’s Lube and washers. No idee what those are for.

I found the 2.5lb spring too ready to set off: just thinking about it odd enough. That’s not safe enough for me. But the 3.5 lb is excellent.

  22. vidsoutmike on April 26, 2023 at 4:27 am

About to install one on my Grandson’s youth model. He has to shoot the factory trigger with 2 fingers.

  23. LS4.8 Frank on April 26, 2023 at 4:30 am

Do the stock screws need to be torqued down to 20inlbs using the same torque driver that you use for scope bases/rings/mounts?

  24. Bob Greene on April 26, 2023 at 4:32 am

Very easy installation. I received the kit in the morning mail and it took only a few minutes during my lunch break.

  25. J H on April 26, 2023 at 4:34 am

Will this trigger spring kit work on the new axis xp?

  29. Popeye77 on April 26, 2023 at 4:43 am

Just finished mine. Super easy with this video. Made a lot of difference on the trigger pull.
Can’t wait to shoot tonight. THANK YOU.

Does this work in the savage .308 111?
