Savage Mark II FV-SR .22 Rimfire

Savage Mark II FV-SR .22 Rimfire

For people who enjoy bolt guns, the Savage Mark II gives you a wonderful target .22 without breaking the bank. We found the gun produced excellent accuracy with bulk high velocity ammo.

The Mark II’s trigger is adjustable down to 2lbs. Out of the box the trigger measured 3 lbs and wow, it’s a fantastic trigger! Very clean and crisp. The fluted carbon steel 16.5″ (threaded) barrel allows for exceptional accuracy and a suppressor.

The only knock on this fine .22 bolt gun was the cheap plastic stock. And other than that, we felt this is an exceptional value at $220-$279.

Finally, this little .22 is a joy to shoot… simple fun!

Here’s what Savages says inn their promotional literature.

The Mark II FV SR offers user-adjustable AccuTrigger™ technology for crisp, customized trigger pulls. Its heavy, button-rifled, 16.5-inch barrel is also fluted, threaded and paired with a black synthetic stock. The rifle has a 5-round detachable box magazine and one-piece scope rail.

This looks like the perfect rifle for me. Can’t really afford to plink with anything except 22. Thanks for the overview!

  4. diawa prolite on October 21, 2022 at 9:21 pm

Have this in the wood version no accutrigger , fitted with a 3x9x40 burris scope.

Great video! Should be picking mine up next week. Where did you get the 10 round mag from?

  8. Kenneth Kovar on October 21, 2022 at 9:32 pm

Curious what suppressor you are using on the FV-SR?

  9. JimmyTheKid Hakala on October 21, 2022 at 9:35 pm

I’m picking mine up in a few days. Can’t wait to get it to the range with the new Primary Arms ACSS scope I got for it.

Looks like a nice 22lr rifle option. I’ve been wanting a 22 rifle for quite sometime but there’s always something else on my list ahead of it

  11. Marty Watlington on October 21, 2022 at 9:35 pm

I had to send mine back twice for not extracting.

  12. R Marasco on October 21, 2022 at 9:37 pm

I looked for one but in the current times was unsuccessful. LGS had a Mark II BV and am extremely satisfied. Very accurate.

I’ve never owned a .22 just shot one or two in 10 years of firearm ownership I just own Glocks and AR’s but covid slowdown has had me interested in .22s and getting my first supressor.

  14. Lailia Vang on October 21, 2022 at 9:39 pm

What scope rings do you have on it?

  15. Roger Hill on October 21, 2022 at 9:40 pm

I own three (3) .22 rifles and the Savage is my favorite.

  16. Azbogivedi Glagoli on October 21, 2022 at 9:42 pm

could you shoot .22 shorts with it?

  17. hancock63 on October 21, 2022 at 9:43 pm

Nice review. I wonder, would it be more accurate to say it has a threaded muzzle, or a threaded barrel?

  18. Zach B. on October 21, 2022 at 9:47 pm

Another one for the wish list! Although I think I’d get the Model 93 version in .22 WMR.

The music is louder than the rifle

  20. P Krott on October 21, 2022 at 9:57 pm

  21. Massv on October 21, 2022 at 9:58 pm

Does it come in wood? I hate these cheap plastic stocks

  22. Jlicious Hamchansky on October 21, 2022 at 10:02 pm

Just got one and it’s the most fun firearm in the collection.
