Sig Sauer M400 Tread easy removal of factory flash hider

Sig Sauer M400 Tread easy removal of factory flash hider

People say you need heat or 5 foot breaker bars but it simply isn’t true. The flash hider is secured with Rocksett and simply needs water to remove it. I soaked it for 4 hours and then a little muscle and off it came. This info came from Sig Sauer employee who assembled M400 Treads. This is the easy way to remove it, actually the only way to remove it. You can go to the Rocksett website and see that the stuff is water soluble. This is the first time I have worked on any AR15. My next video shows upgrading the gas block and putting a Hypertap muzzle device on it. If you want a muzzle brake or a suppressor someday you will do well to follow this video.

What did you use to stop up the barrel, cork?

I have two Sig M400 Tread rifles and I have not had any trouble removing the flash suppressor, I use a Magpul BEV Block and a vice and while the flash suppressor is tight both of mine came right off. I used a Real Avid Armorer’s Master Wrench. Works like a dream.

It wasn’t that hard I did with just a tool . Had my broth hold it down.

Thanks for posting this. This is exactly what sig recommends. Using heat won’t help for the rockset. They recommend soaking it in water. Curious what did you plug the barrel with?
