    Thanks , this was helpful

I am seeking a double action that allows the trigger to move 90% of the travel as well as moving the hammer into firing position. However, you NEVER ONCE brought it into the cocked position showing the trigger nearly all the way back. Your finger always stopped the view. This video was no help because I never saw the trigger cocked and moved the entire travel. This also appears to be FireArms not BB guns though the sound is suppressed

great video, but do you not need to cock the gun every time then in SA? How do you leave it cocked and just keep firing

Instead of trying to figure out the difference between Single action only, Double action only, Single action with Double action…………i just stick with the Striker pistols _Keep It Simple, stupid_ !

This was a really great explanation sir. Thank you!! By the way the last minute or so of you putting your ear pro and range bag into your truck gave me Mr. Rogers vibes (doing anything else while talking into the camera…it was great! Hahah

I just bought a browning hi power from my father and although I have what I consider a fair understanding of the difference between a single action and a double action pistol I’m glad I watched this video. I had no idea the hi power was single action ( although I knew it was heavily influenced by the 1911 ) until I had it in my hands tonight and started fiddling with it lol 😂. Great video sir and I’m glad you explained how striker fired pistols work as well considering I’m planning on buying a vp9 in the future.

    How is DÃO safer??

  17. CyGuy on March 9, 2023 at 2:27 am

Hmm so I’m one of those dudes that wants to get into the sport of shooting. But this isn’t 1850 so who in this modern era, wants to cock the hammer back before every shot? Why? Makes absolutely no logical sense to be. But I am a noob what do I know 😂

  18. Familia Mendez on March 9, 2023 at 2:27 am

    good and clear explanation

  19. mainlymusicman on March 9, 2023 at 2:28 am

still hard to tell the difference when theyre not firing the gun.

once youre firing, is there any difference

  20. Polintan Family on March 9, 2023 at 2:29 am

This video explains the most detailed differences of single action and double action semi-automatic pistols. And I’ve learned so much on this video. I’ve been shooting for almost 2 yrs now and this is my first time to distinguish differences between the two, although my pistols are all striker-fired. Thank you much. Excellent demonstration!

So that’s why they cocked the gun in movies … They have single action gun

    Very good explanation 👍
You’re absolutely right about the gun snobs, these “know it all” chase new gun owners away instead of guiding them in this great sport.

  32. Suraj Singh Tomar Arya on March 9, 2023 at 2:48 am

That CZ with both double and single action is best for self defence and gun safety.

    Thanks! Makes sense now

  37. Bill Hamilton on March 9, 2023 at 2:56 am

what is the primary point of a D A ?,,seems stupid to me ,,you have to chamber the load so now it’s in SA,,or you can de cock it ,whats the point ,,say you need to defend yourself and haven’t used gun in a long time and not sure if there’s a round in chamber and you grab it to defend yourself and pull the trigger and nothing happens ,,not good So I have a colt double eagle,,there’s no safety , why would I want a gun with a load in chamber and no safety ,,makes no sense ,,unless I am missing something here .
and why not just call a S A a semi auto ,,which is what the D A becomes after the first shot BUT ONLY after you load chamber making it a S A then de-cocking back to D A for one shot ,,whats the point ?

  38. Miss Informer on March 9, 2023 at 2:56 am

    -"legally armed American"
    – pistol with the communist insignia in the politically correct bottom left

I don’t think that was intentional, but that absolutely sent me into a laughing fit and I’m 100% here for it that pistol looks dope as hell.

  39. alindbmx on March 9, 2023 at 2:57 am

Very thorough explanation, not only examples but also to talking through shooting. That mad it very easy to follow and thoroughly understand the differences 👍

  40. Adas on March 9, 2023 at 2:57 am

  42. Leon 21th on March 9, 2023 at 2:59 am

Many Thanks "Legally Armed America". The best explanation among many other confusing videos. And the real shot demo is really helpful. BTW, is DA/SA (Double action/single action) the same as semi-automatic pistol ?
