Skinner Scope Mount for Rossi 92

Skinner Scope Mount for Rossi 92

Trying to find the ideal sighting option for my Rossi 92 in .357.
Because of the 92 action, optics must be mounted up front so an optic with long eye relief is essential. I had a Primary Arms Micro Dot laying around and saw this relatively new mounting option from Skinner Sights. Gonna give it a go!
This is a very well made piece of gear. Not sure if I am going to stick with a red dot on the R92 yet….

I think you should consider removing front sight too. Without rear sight it is no use for front sight unless you want extra snagging point 😉

He’ll I like it,, plus I’m the same way, my eyes and iron sights are not a good combination.
Have a Browning bl-22 coming, and I’m looking for a picatinny mount so I can run a Red dot or maybe a 3x prism.

I’m sure they would have used optics and red dots over 100 years ago if the technology was around back then.

I had been thinking about the same. Since i have skinner rear safety plug peep sight and green fiber optic fron Steves gunz i haven’t found the need doe red dot . My awt up is very low profile adds no weight and keeps ridle looking stock. If i would put some kind of optic on niw it would be the long eye relief scout optic.

I agree 100% in what you are saying about putting an optic on a lever action carbine. I have to do this as we;ll. I just bought an R92 Triple Black in .38SPL / 357 and I do need more than
    the supplied iron sights.
I’ll watch this now and see what you do. Thanks for the video!

I have the one from NOE bullet molds on my R92. I wonder if the XS sights " Low Weaver Backup Ghost Ring " model WB-2000N-L would act as a backup iron setup ? I would need a taller front sight on mine because the NOE rail is taller, but with your more flush mounted rail maybe you wouldn’t need to change the front sight.

What kind of ammo holder is that mounted on the buttstock?

  16. Car_Detailing03 on March 20, 2023 at 3:39 am

What size red dot fits that rail?

  17. Joe Morgan on March 20, 2023 at 3:46 am

not against rails or polymer on levergun im against the terrible things that companies do in making a cheap quality poly stock.

Can you do a video tutorial on how to take off the iron sites and put on the rail

Off topic question, Rossi claims on their website and everywhere this is sold that the finish is “black”.. is it actually blued or is there some sort of coating on the receiver?

  22. Coyoteodie on March 20, 2023 at 3:55 am

Would that work on a 94?
