  1. Well, Dang! on February 24, 2023 at 2:23 am

You’re getting on Garand Thumb level of production. Amazing.

  2. Scott S on February 24, 2023 at 2:23 am

Nice gun. Those seem to be very hard to find (model 627). I got lucky and got a Model 686 plus 7 shot PC. Enjoy.

Great revolver chukes Outdoors adventures. Will this be one to keep or will this go at some point ? I say this make for great gun on the hip load with 8 rd of 357mag while just out doing out side home stuff or something take camping with u or close home hike

  4. Guns Gear & Outdoors Alaska on February 24, 2023 at 2:26 am

I agree with Chuke, Its a neat looking gun but a little on the chunky side. Either longer barrel and owb or the 686 for carry.

  5. Robert Hahn on February 24, 2023 at 2:27 am

That looks like a BLOODWORK 627. That Clint Eastwood used in that movie.

  6. Gieszkanne on February 24, 2023 at 2:28 am

The Cylinder is bigger because its a N frame. Old 27 with only 6 shot have same diameter. The weight of the 686 with 3 inch is about the same as your 627 and the cylinder is only 3 mm wider. I think its more psychological then physical.

  7. Richie Rich on February 24, 2023 at 2:29 am

That is one sweet looking piece of hardware for sure.

  8. Bost Custom Music Writing on February 24, 2023 at 2:29 am

Looks like he’s reading the script off the gun.

  9. LWRoad on February 24, 2023 at 2:30 am

Love all your video and always have, but your revolver videos are something special.

  10. thesheepman220 on February 24, 2023 at 2:31 am

It’s just lust that 8 shot 357 mag really makes a revolver more capable, what would be a good defensive bear load for the 357 mag if that was all you had , what would you use in a 357 chuke just out of interest , i would go with the 8 shot that’s just me 👍

  11. Russell Weber 3 on February 24, 2023 at 2:37 am

What gun you shoot the best at should be the gun you carry for that situation.

  12. Ricko Suave on February 24, 2023 at 2:37 am

    8 shot man that’s a beast 😶

  13. Truth HurtzandHealz on February 24, 2023 at 2:38 am

All revolver cylinders should be fluted… Is it me or do unfluted cylinders look cheap or fake?

  14. Moo Butt on February 24, 2023 at 2:39 am

I don’t care if your gun is safe. I’m positive you won’t shoot me through the screen.

  15. DavidNefelimSlayer on February 24, 2023 at 2:40 am

I have this weird irrational preference for the 681 no dash no “M” 4” my dad gave me to replace my 66. It is something that suits a primitive technologically challenged cro magnon like me.
Pluses. Fixed sights, the adjustable S/W sights always seemed to over the top snag more than the hammer especially drawing from a leather holster. The ‘85 681 replaced my 66 that I carried in my SAR kit to the derision of those that did not comprehend the advantage of SS in a salt water environment.
Uses Common cheap speed loaders like HKS. Fast, smooth. Rides great in a Safari Shoulder rig or a Don Hume Jordan duty holster.
Minuses. Just 6 shots of 357 magnum. Probably won’t win any bullseye matches. Maybe too heavy for a girl. Needed a touch of nail polish on the front ramp to help accuracy out to 25yds.
    Old technology.

  16. Crusieth Maximuss on February 24, 2023 at 2:41 am

I would totally carry that after putting some longer grips on it.

  17. James A. on February 24, 2023 at 2:41 am

I think that 627 would be better in a chest or shoulder holster. I love a Smith & Wesson 586 in 4 inch barrel size. I just don’t want the stainless steel variant. I’ve had a 686 and would just rather have a blued version. Great Gun!

  18. Louis Dufour on February 24, 2023 at 2:44 am

After months of searching for my 8 shot, smith and Wesson snub nose do to availability I purchased it for 1150 plus 350 for the crimson trace laser grips. I regret selling my 686 plus years ago due to it’s value going to 3X the purchase price. I expect my new 8 shot smith and Wesson performance center sñub nose to increase value to 3 to 5k since availability is scarce. I’m never going to sell my 8 shot smith and Wesson performance center sñub nose. I love it for it’s take down power, concealable, and able to your point across on the business end

  19. Title Wave on February 24, 2023 at 2:46 am

Mr. Chuke I’m seriously looking at revolvers again since Glock can’t handle hard cast lead and S&W new 10mm can’t feed the heavy hard cast.

  20. Terry Burns on February 24, 2023 at 2:46 am

I don’t get it, why would anybody use moon clips with a straight wall case like a 357. I thought moon clips were for things like a 45 that had a recessed rim, to be able to use them in a revolver.

  21. Dan O'Neill on February 24, 2023 at 2:46 am

    My 3" 629 is about like that I would get a K frame for carry in 357 / 38 ( not for bear bullets ) , more like 38 +P is best for a K frame .

  22. Shazamg6 on February 24, 2023 at 2:48 am

    N-frame vs L-frame. Bigger difference than you’d think…

  23. Fight4OurRight on February 24, 2023 at 2:50 am

Not a fan of 357 but wow Id totally pick that thing up.

  24. kev vandy on February 24, 2023 at 2:53 am

I’m trying to decide between this 627 and th 686 performance center which holds 7 and has a 2.5" bbl. I think this video answers my question.

  25. André Maldonado on February 24, 2023 at 2:54 am

the gun for you is the s&w 686 performance center snubby 7 rounds

  26. Bob Myers on February 24, 2023 at 2:54 am

If you would just listen to Chuck and get it with a 10.75" barrel then you would have a great bear defense gun,but then again 8 shots of puny 357 would never be enough!

  27. Jeffery Farr on February 24, 2023 at 2:55 am

How about the Model 327 8 round s&w snubby?

  28. Brandon Holliday on February 24, 2023 at 2:58 am

The 627 is too pretty to be carried. That should be a desk gun or a safe queen.

  29. Len S on February 24, 2023 at 2:58 am

686 plus deluxe all the way,

  30. The Vegan Gypsy on February 24, 2023 at 2:59 am

Nice gun but I gotta have a hammer so I can cock it I shoot much better and sometimes I need to.

  31. Toas TV on February 24, 2023 at 3:01 am

    8 shot .. definitely a winner 🏆

  32. $am $mooth on February 24, 2023 at 3:02 am

Only thing thst turn’s me off. Is using moon clips, 2 load❗Definitly a helluva gun 💯. I prefer speed loaders ✅

  33. Joel Mclamore on February 24, 2023 at 3:05 am

    Im jealous,i have a taurus 608 357,hoping to buy a ruger redhawk 8 shot 357 soon.

  34. David Neal on February 24, 2023 at 3:07 am

    Cool gun Chuke

  35. Aaron Factor on February 24, 2023 at 3:07 am

You should probably try the gun out for Carry before you have a gunsmith bob the hammer lol. In all seriousness I love your videos! Keep up the hard work.

  36. 308scoutrfl on February 24, 2023 at 3:09 am

Bitchin revolver. I love the fringe models from all of the firearms manufacturers. Recently acquired a S&W model 69 combat

  37. Mr FNH on February 24, 2023 at 3:09 am

Holy crap! Talk about raw power! You could damn near power a street lamp with that! 👻

  38. Gorilla HD on February 24, 2023 at 3:10 am

Both the 627 and 686+ are outstanding revolvers. For your use I agree with your assessment. The 686 fits your needs better. It would be my choice over the 627 as a carry weapon as well.

  39. JAR on February 24, 2023 at 3:11 am

Great for bear and home defense✌🇺🇸

  40. Supermike on February 24, 2023 at 3:12 am

I would say for a fuller size revolver the 327 PUG nose is Probably the best. The 686 plus 3 inch is my favorite though.

  41. Jerry V on February 24, 2023 at 3:14 am

I’ve tried both revolvers and the Performance Center trigger is a universe better in this comparison. There is no "almost as good". 627 for the trigger and the extra round. But yes, finding a good holster for it is not easy. I have one on the way from Craft Holsters. But we shall see…

  42. G3 on February 24, 2023 at 3:15 am

I saw this 627 in the store today and started salivating, but stopped myself from buying to go do a little research. I too have the 3" 686 + 7 round and think it’s great. I’ll enjoy this 686 for a while. 👍 Thank for the honest review

  43. Gregory Kavka on February 24, 2023 at 3:16 am

Don’t see this as an edc gun. For chest carry in the woods or a home defense gun

  44. Handyman1911 on February 24, 2023 at 3:17 am

686 Plus Deluxe, 3” barrel…It’s just a great gun! Seven rounds of hot 357, carry with 38+Ps, or plinking basic 38s! Beautiful, functional, and classic! Thanks, Chuke!

  45. Truth Be Known Revolution on February 24, 2023 at 3:17 am

The Maniest Mo-Fo Made. I’ve carried this everyday for years and is only for real Men who like Manly ass shit. I love the weight as it dampens recoil to the point where I can get all 8 shots on target in just a few secs. Fully adjustable front and rear sights, Hair trigger, Moonclip or speedloader options, can fire .357 or .38 rounds. .38 rounds barley wiggle this monster during firing as it was designed for .44 magnum.

  46. dickeymoore on February 24, 2023 at 3:18 am

686 with 7 shots for me!!!!

  47. Montana MuSINGS Outdoor Channel on February 24, 2023 at 3:20 am

    How sweet is that!!

  48. Louis Dufour on February 24, 2023 at 3:21 am

Having hammer bobbed , does it make for a quick draw?

  49. Jerry Lum on February 24, 2023 at 3:22 am

I just had my cylinder for the 627 Performance Center chamfered by TK Customs for $100. Makes dropping in the full moon clips a breeze. Love this wheel gun!

  50. ratagris21 on February 24, 2023 at 3:23 am

Good looking revolver. It’s a work of art. Excellent caliber too! ☯️🎩♠️🏁
