Smith & Wesson Bodyguard .380
Since the Smith & Wesson Bodyguard .380 was introduced in 2011 it has been at the top of the heap when it comes to .380 mouse guns. Recently the market has been flooded with several really good 9mm single stacks that have almost rendered the .380 mouse gun irrelevant … or has it?
In this episode of TFBTV, Patrick takes his well-worn Smith & Wesson Bodyguard .380 out to the range after not shooting it for almost two years. He used to carry it on a regular basis but retired it due to a high round count. Check out the video and watch Patrick gets reacquainted with his old companion as well as get reminded why he stopped carrying it in the first place.

All these comments about the trigger. "Oh it’s too hard to pull, oh I wish it were like the glock 43" you guys are a bunch of whimps. After a defensive real life or death shooting, you are NOT going to say to yourself ‘wow that trigger was really not comfortable ‘
When you use 2 hand grip you hit the mag release pop mag out using 3 finger grip you don’t get that cuz when mag pops out it acts like a last round so it is holding open. Typically a belly gun is a one hand grip. At the rang you have to use it doesn’t require the two hand grip for accuracy. I rapid fire mine one handed pointing toward target and hit center mass at least 5 shots that’s what the gun is for. Shooting anyone over 10 feet you’ll be hard pressed to convince the jury that you were in eminent danger
Nevermind, I’ll just stick to not carrying.
What a POS of a gun.
The pistols that are reliable (Glock 42) are too large for deep concealed carry (I live in a hot climate) and none of the compact semi autos are reliable.
You "hang on to it for whatever reason"? I’d say to protect yourself, just my opinion. But it makes for a nice pocket stuffer.
You Patrick R. is one of the worst gun reviewer here on YouTube.
does anyone know if they have a reversable mag relese for this thing now? or is the release low profile enough to not drop for left handed?? im glad the mp 2.0 9 you can switch sides for the release but cant do it for this one? at @4:21 it looks like there is a mag switch tab??
My everyday carry, love this baby.
I got my concealed carry permit recently, I started off carrying a beretta 950 jet fire 25 auto, I bought this today and I’m excited to start carrying it.
Your hitting the slide release. Try keeping thumbs pointed out. I had the same issue. I dont use the safety. Your review is on target. I had issues with last round hold open, seems to be the thumb and slide release being close.
That Ventura Munitions gave you junk ammos; you’ve got so many malfunctions. 🙂
complains about take-down 3 times… but, can’t show actual take-down once…
Caliber is meaningless if you don’t aim for vitals. 2 in the chest 1 in the head. No matter what caliber you’re using will kill the bad guy.
Second strike is what sold me on the S&W over the ruger. Plus I think the trigger is a little smoother than the first gen
Guess what guys I just got the best gun ever glock 19 from *expansion2 on wickr* thanks bro I’m happy for safety delivery
This gun is jammed all the time
Como adquirir uma dessa?
You get mad at the safety on your gun? Huh…lol! Misplaced anger. Personally, if I didn’t like something about a gun, or anything else for that matter, then I wouldn’t buy it.
.380 is garbage and so is this garbage ass guns that only wanna be steppas think is fire because it’s small and comes with a garbage ass laser 🤣 9mm and up ONLY, you might as well just get a Glock 26 and buy a beam if you really wanna do that
Sound on the end? It has a name?
Can you get a silencer for it
one of my favorit features of the bodyguard IS THE MANUAL SAFTY
アメリカに行きたくなる理由=銃を撃ちたい&とにかく楽しそう
Does anyone know if there’s a compact out there besides the Kel-Tec P32 that has an extended magazine? I love the idea of higher capacity and a longer grip to find better purchase on the gun, but the P32 seems to be the only one with this feature.
Revolvers vs. Semi-auto: Machete Attacker rushing at you. You pull your semi-auto. He’s closing fast. You fire and wing him. One second left until he’s on you with a machete. You fire again…jam. You …and then the blade enters your head.
It looks normal sized in his tiny little child hands.
This reviewer seems like a total newbie. His malfunctions are probably due to limp wristing or ammo. He also jerks the trigger. Not a good thorough review. Every new gun has a breaking in period
It is a piece of JUNK. An Unreliable, Problematic, always an issue JUNK. Thanks for the video
???: 칼파없네요 신고합니다.
Seems like the gun did ok considering the owned doesn’t clean or lube it. Seems like you just like to bitch and try to make a range gun out of a micro-carry gun.
opps hate these
I believe those were shooter induced malfunctions.
I know this is an old video at this point. Regardless, I just don’t understand why you would think that we would listen to a soulless GINGER. You opinion literally doesn’t matter.
🏃💨
The gun for defensive
Weapons are a tool, use the right one for the job.
A pocket .380 acp, with a double-action trigger and thumb safety is the perfect modern Walther ppk for deep concealment.
Great everyday carry firearm ,perfect size, build quality, safety n second strike capability n no accidental firing will happen with the trigger pull n safety on this gun
Just copped one the other day.I call it my lil pepper spray
You was looking for more ammo, It was just a 6-shot Magazine…
I’m just saying yoo
If you don’t like the safety , don’t use it .
I bought a NEW one and right out of the box it has failure to eject issues.
S & W have it now. Any help is appreciated. FYI – – ALWAYS quality ammo through it.
Cant find a gun they are sold out where I live I need a gun to protect my self
This gun was on my short list…until now.
Ive got the M&P version without a laser or safety. I havent had 1 malfunction in mine. I keep it pretty wet. Magazines are under $20 when you can find them. I have a few. Avoid non factory mags. Not a bad gun from my experience. It is what it is. A semi auto j-frame.
malfunction due to the ammo??
What’s your opinion on P365?
I bought it specifically for two reasons: Lightweight and compact(easy IWB carry)
And the laser sight. Nice to just point the dot and shoot. Great CQC weapon!
there were 4 to5 times where you pull the trigger but the gun didnt fire
I am very fond of my M&P 380. I run it in a Vedder IWB. It’s the convenient and comfy carry gun that I naturally reach for in the safe as I start my day. My Sig P365 and M&P Shield 45 are getting lonely in there. Maybe they can play pickle in the middle with the 1911 on the other shelf..
