Excellent data and very thorough. Just what I needed to know 👍

  2. tokin420nchokin on March 11, 2023 at 2:45 am

Really appreciate your channel man. Good content and your knowledge of rifles is amazing. Too bad your not in charge of colt… maybe they would be producing a civilian .308

  3. a c on March 11, 2023 at 2:46 am

    Oof.
    1600 msrp?
Just get a sig tread 716i or an aero.
You would at least get a free float hand guard, non base model stock and potentially a better barrel.

  4. Rob Babcock on March 11, 2023 at 2:47 am

    Looks good for the money!

  5. Nicholas Hahn on March 11, 2023 at 2:47 am

Great video. Thanks for sprinkling the knowledge brother🤙🇺🇸👍

That’s quite the telescope🔭 you’ve got mounted on there. Steve

  7. Koja62 on March 11, 2023 at 2:49 am

Since I’ve found your channel I’ve noticed i see if you’ve made a video of a gun I like before buying it. Good job brother !!!

I have both the M&P 10 & 15. Love them both with Magpul furniture upgrades and Midwest Industries handguards. I haven’t tried many different types of ammo in the M&P 10. Just Remington 180 grain and Federal 150 grain and get 1.5” with both with the 16” barrel. My M&P 15 gets about 1.5 with Zinc Point 62 grain fmj. This weekend I’ll be trying 75 grain federal fmj to test stability out of the 1:9 twist barrel. Hope it works, but then again if it don’t it will justify buying an LWRC IC DI 😎🤣🤣🤣🤣

  9. dbelex on March 11, 2023 at 2:55 am

Lower receiver is nice, barrel, trigger, buffer and gas block is garbage.

  10. E T on March 11, 2023 at 2:55 am

Another fantastic video. Grateful to have access to this expert knowledge.

  11. Bo Harris on March 11, 2023 at 2:56 am

I have the 16in version. Replaced the gas block and put a full float handguard on it and I’ll take the Pepsi challenge out to 750yds with any large frame ar. The fit to upper n lower is great it you notice the bumpers in all 4 corners of the upper. Once you get rid of the delta ring and that huge hunky gas block and install a quality low pro GB and full floated HG it’s much more accurate

  12. Linz McGeorge on March 11, 2023 at 2:57 am

What is that chickenshit gas block????

  13. Daniel Sheby on March 11, 2023 at 2:58 am

That’s disappointing about the barrel being inaccurate after heating up..

  14. amerigunner91 on March 11, 2023 at 2:58 am

Seriously Chris! Been trying to find a good price on one of these for two years and you had to go and tell everyone they are the best deal in the .308 AR world! 😋 Thanks for all the work you put into informative videos.

june 23rd 2021: S&W doubled its sales in a year.

  16. M on March 11, 2023 at 3:02 am

Jesus, that scope just made a chonky boi of that lightweight AR10. BTW, bolt is proprietary and S&W will not sell you a replacement. Have to send the whole rifle back.

  17. Stormrider on March 11, 2023 at 3:03 am

Not going to win any beauty awards that for sure😄

  18. Roberto Gandia on March 11, 2023 at 3:03 am

Got the same model in 16 in. Got a lemon..you got lucky..sending it back

  19. 44 Hawk on March 11, 2023 at 3:05 am

Since when is 4140 a specification for stainless steel?????

SOTAR wouldn’t like seeing the donut and mouse turd buffer with the extractor spring.

  23. Greg Kavanagh on March 11, 2023 at 3:10 am

    Thanks for the video

  24. Luke Lee on March 11, 2023 at 3:10 am

The M&P sport 2 AR15 has the chrome plated bolt carrier internals and runs steel case and brass case ammo with 100% reliability and excellent accuracy in my experience

  25. John on March 11, 2023 at 3:10 am

Weird, my experience has been that Aero is surprisingly well made.

  26. Jonathan Curry on March 11, 2023 at 3:12 am

I’ve had mine for about 4 years. Upgraded to a Magpul MOE hand guard and changed out the muzzle device. I have been very happy and get anywhere from 1-2 MOA with good quality ammo. 168gr AMAX seems to be the best for mine. Thanks for the review!

  27. Donald Jackson on March 11, 2023 at 3:13 am

My gas port was too small.. had to have it bored out.. piss poor production for a company like this… this is a pretty common issue if you look are the internet.

  28. Blue State Rebel on March 11, 2023 at 3:13 am

I bought this rifle years ago based on the glowing review of Nut’n Fancy. I will say that from his original review that the gun will not cycle with a suppressor unless you put on an adjustable gas block. I know from my own experience that the recoil is painful from that butt stock because the rifle is pretty light. I also know that it was quite hard to find replacement hand guards.

  29. Manny Martinez on March 11, 2023 at 3:14 am

I have a question for my M&P 10 when the bolt is forward and I try to load my 10 round magazine into the magazine well it doesn’t hold the magazine, but when the bolt is back the magazine loads just fine. Any ideas on how to fix that issue?

  30. Shagnasty on March 11, 2023 at 3:15 am

I got these for my a couple of my kids first AR.. I figure they can dial them in as they choose… Great starter AR-10…

  31. 2010GT500 on March 11, 2023 at 3:18 am

S&w won’t sell you a BCG or bolt. Since it’s proprietary you’re out of luck

  32. Purple_Wayne_91 on March 11, 2023 at 3:18 am

What was that odd little bolt stick at 13:07? It cycled, but it looked like the BCG had second thoughts about rechambering.

  33. Desmend Yarbrough on March 11, 2023 at 3:19 am

    Always wanted one

  34. brad h on March 11, 2023 at 3:21 am

Seems to me that their design philosophy is to use adequate parts rather than high end for the parts that are very likely to be upgraded like the buffer tube and handguard etc. Each owner will have their own preferences for such upgrades. Why have them pay for high end parts that they are only going to replace? I like this company.

  35. Pat Kruchowski on March 11, 2023 at 3:22 am

You need to seriously think about getting a tv show, or start writing articles in gun magazines. Your knowledge is unquestionable.

  36. Aviator Gamer on March 11, 2023 at 3:22 am

That rifle with that particular scope and the muzzle break make a beautiful profile.

  37. Pete Sheppard on March 11, 2023 at 3:23 am

Thanks for the simple warts and all reviews. I have a 5.56 Sporter and it has been completely reliable, even after fairly rapid fire.
A .308 AR is on my wish list, and the S&W offering is way up there. My guess is that modification is assumed, hence the cheap handguard and screw-secured gas block.

  38. D B on March 11, 2023 at 3:25 am

Spot on about it the buffer in my experience. I’m running a 9mm heavy buffer in mine but it’s normally shot with a silencer. Definitely over gassed it will cycle with it and no can. Swapping out the gas block for a adjustable one would be good thing. A heck of a lot better to carry vs my Armalite AR-10 T from the AWB years 😒 it’s a pig and stuck with the crap mod M1A magazines.
    I’d rather have one M&P 10 than a M1A any day.

  39. J Cunningham on March 11, 2023 at 3:26 am

basically get the 16" and replace the barrel and put a H2 buffer in it.

  40. Paul Barnes on March 11, 2023 at 3:26 am

Sounds like an HBAR configuration would really help accuracy, but the tradeoff is extra weight.

  41. Jose Canisales on March 11, 2023 at 3:26 am

How is the accuracy on this rifle?

  42. M Fritz on March 11, 2023 at 3:28 am

Where tf can you buy this thing?

  43. Brent Morando on March 11, 2023 at 3:30 am

Definitely do a review on the DD5 V3/V4. Curious on your thoughts about the updated BCG with an integrated buffer system alongside the somewhat longer gas system. Gas block is now adjustable and the updated BCG coating seems to be noticeably slicker than chrome. Plus they’re using an updated bolt material.

Looks like these were also picked up for use by the Argentine Marine Forces.

  44. HNDAdude_ on March 11, 2023 at 3:33 am

Can you shoot 7.62 with these ?

  45. Jroc06120 on March 11, 2023 at 3:33 am

No disrespect but M&P 15 is not in the same league as Aero not even in the same conversation brother… Sorry but Aero has come a long way.

  46. Adam Cox on March 11, 2023 at 3:37 am

    I wish i had a gunsmith friend….😆

  47. milwaukeegregg on March 11, 2023 at 3:39 am

I buy nothing from Smith.. Had timing issues with a 29-2 and a 686. Sent them both to the factory got them back and the same issues…Gave the 686 to my son and sold the 29-2 to a good friend that really had to have it. Me? I bought a Glock 29 and have had no issues…..

  48. Antares69Star on March 11, 2023 at 3:39 am

What do you think, would you go for the 18" or the 16" version?

  49. Scott Enlow on March 11, 2023 at 3:43 am

With hand loaded Hornady A-Max’s I get 1/4-1/2 MOA. FMJ’s 1-1 1/4 MOA constantly. That dang clamp on gas block does migrate though. Someone needs to make a jig so the gas block can be drilled and pined.

  50. ak forge on March 11, 2023 at 3:43 am

That non-pinned gas block and buffer is a no go for me.
