Smith & Wesson quality control issues 2022 pre warranty video

Brand new @Smith & Wesson Inc. model 25 in 45LC came in with some quality issues. In the video I show what the issues are and how I feel about them. I called S&W customer service today (8/25/2022) and was sent a prepaid FedEx label for warranty repair! Off to a good start with the free shipping. Will update when repairs are done!

This video is not a slam on S&W, sometimes a company has a bad batch or growing pains in production. Since S&W is moving to Tennessee, maybe they’re working out some bugs. I’m just video logging this experience for others to see how S&W customer service warranty works, and I’m sure S&W will make it right!

    Ive been a S&W guy ever since I got into firearms (my first gun was a model 10) , but this is garbage. I hope they take care of it. This is the number one reason I will always buy a used older Smith (same price/better quality) over anything new.

    Well I’ll just say it like it is, American manufacturing has gone to shit!!! But they still want that premium price though, and I mean almost all the well known companies that have made their names in the past years have gone down in quality!!!!

    No option to just return to the vendor for a refund ? Or get a replacement from the vendor?
    Why’s it your problem to remedy?

    Never mind, got to the end, pretty poor of the ffl to not accept the return on a jacked up gun.

    Yep.. I’m dealing with the exact same QC issues right now with a S&W 500 ($1,700) out of the box. I have two 500’s sitting in my FFL right now, second was shipped to replace first one, it was worse than the first one. Aside from other issues, like a large area not fully polished, the front sight not installed (even though others do), significant scratches, the branding/stamping on the second one was like yours. It’s terrible looking.. When it comes to revolvers, QC issues stick out like a sore thumb. Additionally, I had significant QC issues with a Governor I ordered three weeks ago. Second one was much better, so settled with less flaws. Again, new out of the box. It’s disappointing and frustrating to say the least..

    Agree with your thoughts on this one. Hope S&W makes you right. Think you should drop your FFL. This is also why I buy older/used models in person. Online is hit or miss.

    Very sad indeed. I’d be pretty "tight" about this.
