I have one with a set of Night Fission tritium night sights on it. It is Sweet!

  2. Michael Fink on March 6, 2023 at 2:37 am

Love the Shield and plan on getting the Shield Plus… but I really wish S&W would get rid of the "caution capable of firing with magazine removed" label that’s printed/engraved on the gun. That belongs in the manual, not on the side of the gun, and it just makes the gun look ugly imo.

  3. Jacob Ort on March 6, 2023 at 2:38 am

Love mine it’s bad ass nice 👍…the shield plus everything’s better she’s has a better flat trigger
… thick grip it don’t feel like a 🏒 holds a lot rounds almost like a full size!!! just two bullets off …. still fix it in your pocket but the grip sticks out a little bit meaning it print but it’s good for home defense since it has a lot of rounds!!!! and it’s good for compact use you can beat it love it .. oh yeah it’s not like the plastic things on the old clips this plastic sticks on there there’s no way to get it off man you have to go by shoots good no fell to feed with mine ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️

  4. Red 2 on March 6, 2023 at 2:41 am

For people who live in states where we can only have magazines that hold 10 can you still get the extended magazine for the extra grip length?

  5. Ashok Munday on March 6, 2023 at 2:42 am

    Good shot

Hey brother. If you had to choose a 6in 1911 in 10mm… Dan wesson Kodiak or the Les Baer hunter, I trust you guys opinion. Thank you

  10. Samuel on March 6, 2023 at 2:46 am

Does anyone know if the 4.6 height is with the 10 or 13 round mag?

  11. B. on March 6, 2023 at 2:49 am

    Shield plus or mossberg mc2sc?

    Be safe!

  12. Wayne Castleman on March 6, 2023 at 2:50 am

Happy Thanksgiving ! Good running pistol.

  13. Jackson Walter on March 6, 2023 at 2:53 am

Love the Shield Plus. I think it’s the best microcompact to me. It has the least amount of felt recoil to me (allowing me to place my shots much better for rapid follow up shots), trigger is the best out of all the stock triggers, grip texture allows me to get a great grip purchase, and the grip is larger (especially from front to back wise) that fills out my hands so much better compared to the tiny grips on the Hellcat and P365.

The downside would be the lack of night sights, but for $50 more you can get the optics ready version that includes night sights as well.

Got this to upgrade my edc and carry appendix, with the minimalist Mission First Tactical IWB holster you don’t even feel it in your waist band.

  15. stanly steemer on March 6, 2023 at 2:54 am

Passed it up for the g3c surprised I did, but happy now I did. I own lots of other makes Rugers and glocks as well as walthers. Lots of overpriced guns with no better quality and reliability.

  16. John Grytbakk on March 6, 2023 at 2:55 am

Rather get a full size M&P myself. Interested in the 10mm.

  17. all pro on March 6, 2023 at 2:55 am

I don’t care what caliber it is, I don’t want to get hit by any of them

  18. Bob White on March 6, 2023 at 2:55 am

    Man that kid can shoot!

  19. Michael Schaffer on March 6, 2023 at 2:57 am

All my Shields have been very difficult to rack over a fully loaded magazine. I usually load a couple then cycle the slide to load the chamber. Then top off the magazine. The 13 round magazines are still hard to find. Smith can’t make them fast enough it seems.

  20. aef on March 6, 2023 at 2:57 am

I have had an original shield and now a shield plus.
I want to like the plus, but it is hard to.
It’s hard to load…. Well just don’t put all the bullets in it. lol (heard that several times.)
The newest problem is when popping in the 13r mag the slide closes by itself.
Not trying to be a gun snob but I expect guns to work right out of the box.

  21. Bradley Slackenfelch on March 6, 2023 at 2:58 am

You know, it’s hard to pick up on "vibes" in a video, or should I say "harder" to pick up on vibes in a video than in person but if I didn’t know better, I’d say Sr. is more in the moving on phase of the entire S&W thing but Young Beretta perhaps has a smidge of residual resentment over Smith’s behavior. Not that either one of you are sugar coating anything with respect to the pistol here but Jr. appears to be approaching this review with a rather "get in, get through, get out and quit f%^$#*& about" tact, almost like the sooner he can get it wrapped up, the sooner he can stop having to handle and perhaps laud a Smith this soon after the incident.
Just an observation. I’m likely all wet on this but that’s the first impression I got from it. Thanks for the review.
PS, whether or not I’m right, somewhat right, less right than wrong, or completely wrong, it’s not a condemnation from me. It’s a video and you guy’s did it and I enjoyed the content.
Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for the video.

  22. Daniel Rodriguez on March 6, 2023 at 2:58 am

Since I own them all I could say that the S&W Shield plus is the king of micro 9mm.
They have Optic ready 3.1 & 4” barrel pistols, I have both 😅.
Such soft shooter, excellent trigger, reliable track record. They have fiber optic, night sights, ported barrels, manual safety or not.
    A true marble of engineering.
    Thanks for review!
I have six 13 round mags and one is very hard to get the 12-13 round in….. only maglula gets them in.

  23. Paul Laws on March 6, 2023 at 3:00 am

    Wait a minute fellas.
Yall plainly stated that Smith and Wesson was in the REARVIEW MIRROR.
    What changed???

  24. Butch on March 6, 2023 at 3:01 am

Young Beretta shoots with such conviction! That first round had be laughing.. just ripping through that magazine like it’s nobody’s business! Nice work fellas! Love the review!

  25. RE:Desert_Boy on March 6, 2023 at 3:02 am

Good concise review for a quality value carry. Enjoy accuracy, compactness, and manageable recoil on mine which also is the non safety model. Considering putting night sights on which are about $100-$125 from what I have seen so far. Hope you all had a Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks for posting, very nice review on this pistol.

  29. surfinbird71 on March 6, 2023 at 3:08 am

Why is a manual safety such a taboo for many people? Is it really bad to have?

  30. El Capitan on March 6, 2023 at 3:09 am

S&w shields hydrolock be aware in those conditions I’d dropped in water won’t fire

  31. Maddog8148 on March 6, 2023 at 3:11 am

This looks like a really nice gun. Even though I’m a huge Beretta guy. 👍🏼💪🏼🙌🏼

  32. TheLegoJoker on March 6, 2023 at 3:11 am

Got mine new for $460. Great gun. My mags loosened up enough to get the 13 in without too much difficulty but I don’t bother with a +1 or anything. For what it is, I don’t mind 13 total rounds on me when I carry it. The trigger is great and is a huge improvement over the horrible hinged trigger the M&P line is known for but my one gripe is the gap between the mag and the bottom of the grip tends to pinch my baby finger under recoil. For that reason alone, I prefer the G43x over the Shield Plus. Still, it’s a great gun and it shoots softer than any of the other micros I’ve shot.

  33. S on March 6, 2023 at 3:11 am

550 (plus transfer fee) seems a little high when local dealers stock it for sub $500

  34. Aaron on March 6, 2023 at 3:12 am

Picked one up on black Friday. Just need to get some more mags!

  35. Mr. 2D74 on March 6, 2023 at 3:15 am

Thanks for staying true to conducting Gun reviews and none of the BS 👍

  36. tyler christel on March 6, 2023 at 3:16 am

Biggest con to this gun is that you have to pull this trigger from the bottom imo, nobody really talks about it, but it makes me want to get rid of mine. Shame too because it is a crisp break.

  37. Midwest G on March 6, 2023 at 3:17 am

I have all versions of the Shield but still like my Sig P365 the best for daily carry, etc……

  38. ulises salas on March 6, 2023 at 3:18 am

    Sweet!!!

    Happy Thanksgiving guys!! God Bless!!!

  39. The Main Man Channel on March 6, 2023 at 3:18 am

  40. taylorID1 on March 6, 2023 at 3:18 am

There’s nothing more important and nothing that I’m more thankful for than family. Firearms is a close second. Hope you both had a great Thanksgiving! All the best from Clan Taylor ☘️

  41. 鴨様 on March 6, 2023 at 3:19 am

Anytime I’m in the market for a new gun, I watch these guys. If a gun is excellent they will give it props, but if it sucks they will tell you exactly why lol

  42. Angus Peters on March 6, 2023 at 3:19 am

    Happy Thanksgiving guys!
    Awesome objective review as always.
    God bless

  43. Rider's-Range on March 6, 2023 at 3:20 am

Nice quick look at a gun that is late to the market. I like that your channel gets the perspective from both of you. Stay safe.

  44. Weapons Education on March 6, 2023 at 3:23 am

Good point about the 9mm compared to a .45. (1911) I was at the Sig Sauer Academy many times. The 9mm will not even spin the steel in a half circle, the .45 blast it around like the steel is a feather. As you mentioned new modern 9mm ammo does a good job, but may require more shots on target. Very good video. You had the guts to say the truth. Thanks! Tom

  45. Zab Devin on March 6, 2023 at 3:25 am

It only takes one bullet to be deadly, regardless of the caliber. Shot placement is paramount.

  46. C Kim on March 6, 2023 at 3:28 am

Most Shields I’ve handled were a bit tough to rack the slide with a full mag. My Full size M&P Pro is much easier.

  47. Will William on March 6, 2023 at 3:29 am

My shield 1.0 9 mm was a beast to rack even after 500 plus rounds. My 2.0 45 acp shield racks much easier and is a pleasure to shoot. Happy thanksgiving and great video as always. SE MI.

  48. all pro on March 6, 2023 at 3:29 am

Mag does get easier. My glock 19 mag is hard to top off too. Stiff spring just means it should last longer

  49. Rose Marsili on March 6, 2023 at 3:31 am

Is the slide difficult to rack? Is it a good year-round EDC for a woman?

  50. William Winn on March 6, 2023 at 3:33 am

Picked up the performance center version with the 4in barrel and red dot. great gun
