Backup gun? This is my primary.

  2. Junior1986 on March 9, 2023 at 2:41 am

Couple hundred bucks well spent. Look at them first though when buying used. Iv seen a few cowboyed out.

  3. Gregor W on March 9, 2023 at 2:41 am

what speed loader model / brand are you using?

  4. Better Than You on March 9, 2023 at 2:42 am

It was at 666 likes. I liked to get it out of the hump. LOL

  5. Gary Sams on March 9, 2023 at 2:42 am

    You need a class…Michael DeBethencourt…is a good revolver and blade instructor…jmho.

  6. 65MMREHP on March 9, 2023 at 2:44 am

Which ammo do you guys use in these guns for self defense? I use the Winchester ranger +p.

  7. Ragesauce on March 9, 2023 at 2:44 am

I clean the cylinder after every range for this very reason. No steel casings get stuck ever.

  8. Alan Schaub on March 9, 2023 at 2:45 am

What is a +P? I must have missed where you explained that ammo.

  9. Rich D on March 9, 2023 at 2:45 am

I was going to buy a Glock 42 for my ccw. But, my gunshop called to tell me that my 442 came back from S&W. If it works good I’ll use that for my ccw.

  10. World Class Satanist on March 9, 2023 at 2:47 am

    Beautiful gun

  11. JR N on March 9, 2023 at 2:48 am

If you have one and don’t like it: Install a spring kit, install a larger grip and try wadcutters, all equal a whole different gun!! Mine is on my belt now.

  12. personalfunfest on March 9, 2023 at 2:48 am

    recoil? Try a 340PD with 357 magnum…

  13. L.A. Commander on March 9, 2023 at 2:49 am

Picked up a 642 on sale for $299 at the local gun shop. Figured it would be a good backup gun or nightstand gun. But now it’s my daily carry, especially in summer with hot weather. Shooting at the range was a biotch until I put Hogue grips on it and then it was 100% better.

  14. Chauncey Hart on March 9, 2023 at 2:52 am

I have to say, maybe it’s the ammo I’m using, I don’t know. But I’ve found the recoil to be perfectly manageable and certainly not painful at all. Love my 442.

  15. Mychael Pierce on March 9, 2023 at 2:54 am

Very nice review. I go rid of my back up pistol a Kahr P380, because it jammed every now and then. Switched to a S&W 360PD. Works great. I will have to say my Ruger LCR .38 is easier to shoot well. Less felt recoil and a better trigger for sure! Thanks for sharing!

  16. LeadCounsel on March 9, 2023 at 2:54 am

I would suggest reversing your reload technique. Change hands.

  17. AndreasInGreer on March 9, 2023 at 2:54 am

    Sweet little revolver!
    I want one!

  18. Alex Martinez on March 9, 2023 at 2:55 am

Just got a 438 for $400 on layaway. It looks brand new. Ive carried it in my pocket no problem. I love it. Good gun. Very reliable

  19. novaD2 on March 9, 2023 at 2:55 am

Shoot wadcutters and then carry wadcutters. Feels like a 22. Penetrates deep. Proven track record. I don’t shoot anything else anymore but standard loading dont bug me. They do bite though

  20. Benjamin Henry on March 9, 2023 at 2:56 am

Just found a 442-1 without the "Hillary Hole" in the pawnshop. Traded for it. And its like new!
Thought these all had the lock. Like to find out when it was manufactured. It’ll mate well with the S&W M637 & Taurus M85.

  21. JTNS 28 on March 9, 2023 at 2:58 am

pls learn how to combat clear the cylinder of spent rounds: weak side hand had holds cylinder open, strong side palm hits ejector rod. thumb on ejector rod is weak and fiddly.

  22. Mike on March 9, 2023 at 2:59 am

I have a 442 i shoot 148gr wadcutters in it they shoot point of aim and have no problem with recoil great little gun
    for ever day carry !!!!

  23. Eat_Sleep_Boost on March 9, 2023 at 3:01 am

I got a Wilson Combat spring kit for my 442 years back and it lowered the trigger pull to around 8 pounds and made it smooth at butter. Didn’t break the bank either and made the 422 so much more enjoyable to shoot. Zero reliability issues either. In fact I noticed harder primer hits with it vs stock. Highly recommended

  24. StephenAnthonyJr on March 9, 2023 at 3:02 am

I know this is completely irrelevant but how much recoil would a S&W 29-2 44 magnum 4 inch have?

  25. Tom R on March 9, 2023 at 3:02 am

They bark!! Boot grips are hard to master shooting. A 3 finger combat grip is tons better but hard for me to conceal without printing owb

  26. James Hargis on March 9, 2023 at 3:03 am

I don’t consider the 442 to be "high recoil". I guess it depends on what you’re used to.

  27. Bruce Li on March 9, 2023 at 3:05 am

Bought last year, love it, changed grip to a hogue….Great j frame, 38sp +P mine says it on the barrel…..Great in summer time with shorts…Snappy maybe, just change the grip, it ain’t a 800 round range gun, it’s close security, in conceal carry…

  28. Mgrsdgfsd Afsdgrsdgfsdg on March 9, 2023 at 3:05 am

Can you hammer nails with it all day, then will it hit on target? Could you possibly provide me a Cadillac with the pink slip as well?

  29. Texas Elvis on March 9, 2023 at 3:06 am

I have a 642 and the grips literally had the web of my hand bleeding. I found a slightly bigger set of Pachmyer grips that made it more tolerable, yet it still fit in my pocket. Love the gun, hate the recoil! LOL Great video brother!

  30. Dabz on March 9, 2023 at 3:07 am

    Great gun

  31. el mecánico on March 9, 2023 at 3:07 am

A super easy to pocket carry..

  32. RickJZ1973 on March 9, 2023 at 3:07 am

Nice review. The 442 or 642 is top choice for concealed carry.

  33. moreme40 on March 9, 2023 at 3:07 am

I just got a 442. Last week. I know it’s rated for +P but I couldn’t imagine using that after shooting just standard .38 Special thru it. That was a handful

  34. Lou Kondek on March 9, 2023 at 3:09 am

Great video. I just picked up a new one last week!

  35. Terry Wang on March 9, 2023 at 3:09 am

    Pro series can use moonclip

  36. Harold Davis on March 9, 2023 at 3:12 am

I love to practice with mine, 158 grain ammo.
You guys that think it’s no fun to shoot…..I’m sorry, that worries me.

  37. Old School Cop on March 9, 2023 at 3:14 am

38 special is going to be better than a 380 as far as stopping power

  38. flyontop on March 9, 2023 at 3:14 am

Excellent excellent review! Thank you! I have several J-Frames, they are somewhat obsolete but very addictive. Still carry mine and don’t feel under-gunned.

  39. Fox1Actual on March 9, 2023 at 3:15 am

Not sure if you mentioned it but what grip are you using with the revolver? I want one. Great vid. Subbed.

  40. D Sly on March 9, 2023 at 3:15 am

Point the barrel straight down to load with speed loader. Gravity lines up the cartridges over cylinder.

  41. dakidsbac777 on March 9, 2023 at 3:19 am

    I’m in PA too.

  42. Reptile Dysfunction on March 9, 2023 at 3:19 am

In my view, there is no better pocket gun for close-range self defense than a 442 or 642. Safe, reliable, lightweight, and packs a punch with +p ammo. I love mine. No, it’s not necessarily a range gun or plinker. But for it’s intended use, you can’t do better.

  43. Slayer Mack on March 9, 2023 at 3:21 am

Great review. I’ve watched lots of reviews on the 442 and yours is one of the better ones. You showed a lot of clips shooting it from different angles, and unloading and reloading, and that gave me a much better idea about the guns performance, recoil, and what it will take to reload in a timely manner.

I’ve been carrying a .357 magnum Ruger SP101 for many years but I was looking for something a little smaller and lighter for different occasions. I considered the 642 but I really like the finish of the 442 better and the fact that the ones offered at my local gun shop had the 442 without the lock. The 642 had a lock.

I already know what to expect with small revolvers and am pretty proficient with reloads since I practice often, but that is with a SP101. Your video and review showed me more than most of those other videos that are just 10 minutes of showing the gun on a table while the guy talks off camera about it. I wanna see some shooting!

Once again, great job doing what a gun review is supposed to do and not just yapping about it.

  44. Apologist357 on March 9, 2023 at 3:23 am

If you think the M442 has strong felt recoil, you should try the M340 PD with a .357 mag load or hot .38 +P… I have had both.

  45. Doug Wheeler on March 9, 2023 at 3:24 am

You need to use the flat of your right hand and slam the ejector rod. That was how I was trained in the 1980’s at the FBI range as a Marine Security Guard. It works well.

  46. Corey Polite on March 9, 2023 at 3:26 am

Had the same problem with steel case in my old Taurus 85. Everything else ran fine including +p and +p+ ammo. (although I don’t recommend the +p+ ouch!.)

  47. Ham on March 9, 2023 at 3:28 am

Where are people going that they need to carry two guns

  48. JAR on March 9, 2023 at 3:29 am

i think the speed strip might be faster 😳🤣✌️🍺🇺🇸

  49. TheProfessor on March 9, 2023 at 3:36 am

6:50 yep have a 637 back at the factory for a anted barrel now

  50. Chris Pachnik on March 9, 2023 at 3:37 am

The recoil from the airweights is so OVERRATED! Omg! I can hit a softball at 15 yards over and over again. My G20 with tame rounds kicks twice as much. The j frames are AWESOME!
