Everyone should have at least one .22LR gun in their collection. It’s arguably one of the most fun rounds to shoot considering it recoils like a pussy cat but is still very much lethal. I have nothing against paintball or airsoft but there is something about a lethal round that shoots as soft as a paintball or airsoft gun that makes it that much cooler.
Not to mention it’s generally cheap and easy to find except when the country is dealing with one of the biggest ammo shortages in the history of mankind.
Right now in the gun industry, there’s what I like to call a Tactical Kardashian Effect. Much the same way every Instagram model looks like some variation of Kim Kardashian there was a time where every gun kinda sorta maybe just a little… looked KINDA LIKE A Glock.
The Mark IV on the other hand looks like a gun that Bill burr would use as his character in The Mandalorian, except those are Ruger MARK III’s.
The features on the MARK IV 22/45 Lite just make shooting a .22 out of a handgun that much more enjoyable. It has a fixed front sight with an adjustable rear iron sight, which is useless to me because the Picatinny rail that comes on the guns lets me put red dots like the Leupold Delta Point Pro on it.
I don’t care how you feel about red dots on handguns, if nothing, shooting a handgun with a red dot on it is fun when you’re not trying to be action Jackson and just shooting for the pleasure of shooting.
The way the MARK IV shoots is the main reason why I believe everyone should have at least one Mark IV in their collection.
When I was filming this video I wasn’t in the best of moods. I was stressed out and my allergies were driving me crazy, but while I shooting the Mark IV I seeming forgot about all of the things that were bothering me.
I’ve always said the 1911 is one of the most ergonomic handguns on the planet. Which in turn makes the Mark IV one of the most ergonomic guns on the planet because the grip and grip angle is very much like 1911.
The grip itself is pretty simple but sometimes less is more and here less is a lot more. Sure there the 22 doesn’t have a lot of recoils but the ergonomics of the grip still stood out to me.
Long story short, everyone should own the Ruger Mark 4 because it makes you happy.
Honestly, shooting any of my guns makes me happy, even the Ruger super red hawk Alaskan and that thing is terrifying.
It’s the way the Mark IV makes you happy. It sneaks up on you. One min you’re plinking away and the next you’re grinning from ear to ear because the gun feels so great in your hands.
The trigger pull is smooth and predictable, the suppressor mitigates all the concussions and noise so you can clearly hear the bullet careen against the steel target, and its low recoil coupled with a red dot just makes it feel like you’re playing a first-person shooter with auto-aim.
In a perfect world, you’d wake up, make your breakfast and a cup of coffee, grab your Mark IV, sit on your deck with an awesome view and just plink away until your heart was content.

Yup! Got One! Fabulous! I’m female, and got the 10” bull barrel replaced the grips with wood thumb rest (Ruger)and end sight. She’s one of my Favorites! I have outshot the guys out plinking! They were amazed. She’s as you say a pussycat, I have a red dot that I remove as I prefer iron sights. I might get a bitty suppressor? Cool as Hell! Love This Baby!

I am a teen who often shoots this gun with my parents and I have to say this is my favorite. Unlike most guns it doesn’t kick and hurt my hands. 😂 I have to agree with him in saying that everyone needs this gun, especially if you don’t want a gun that kicks.

I’ve got a Smith & Wesson Sigma 9 mm that looks just like a Glock as a matter of fact it’s like a Gen 2 or gen 3 and they were sued by glock because it basically was a Glock everything about it was pretty much the same

I love the ruger mark 4 but damn why you got to but dogshit sights on them factory? I’d pay an extra 50-100 bucks for some sights. Plus it’s a pain in the ass swapping out the rear sight. Same goes for the 1022 tactical…. charge more and put on a better rail

I love my Mark iv. One of my favorite guns in my collection. I have mine in green. Waiting for my suppressor for it. Every time I go to the range I always take it and at least 100 rounds just to have fun "plinking"

I’ve now owned 4 , I gave two away to my grown children. If I had to take one gun & ammo with me when civilization collapses it’d be my Mark 4 with suppressor & 5000 thousand rounds of subsonic. The sound is quieter than a bb gun & the weight of the ammo is a couple pounds.

I just got a buckmark, but I was really in between the mkiv and the buckmark. I liked the grip on the browning a little better and they had a used one on sale. I’d still like to shoot the mkiv to see the real difference.
And unless you have bad ammo that won’t fire, the Ruger Mark series are reliable as hell. Only pistol I owned for a couple decades, many many 1000’s of rounds. FTF/FTE? I’m still trying to remember if I ever experienced this.
When the MKIV came out, the price of the MKIII got too good to pass on..

Do any of you carry the Mark IV as an EDC? I’m thinking of downsizing from 9MM to the .22LR but want to know who carries one regularly.
I only shoot for the pleasure of shooting so I’m glad I bought one. Paintball guns generally aren’t pistols so they feel way different but I’m also a big paintball guy so yeah but maybe nicer co2 blowback pistols that aren’t super sloppy and cheap cause the cheap ones are so sloppy and feel like trash

Oh man you’re right. I was going to say thay no gun gets that title, but the ruger mk1 passes. Let me also suggest the Jimenez JA22. I carry the earlier Jennings J22. Always fires those minimags. Almost always hits the target.
I have this same 22/45 with an RMR and waiting on a Bitty in jail. Can’t wait to shoot this setup.
